This & That | February

Good morning friends! Welcome to a new week! I got so much done on Sunday and was ready to start the week fresh, then wouldn’t you know, I overslept on Monday! Ug.  Oh well, it happens to the best of us, so I just had to start my workout late (Jordan jumped in which was actually really cute), and then start the day a little later.  Now, I’m all showered and feeling much better.  Monday, we’re turning this day around!

It’s time for a good old fashioned This & That post.  I’ll be sharing a few new things I found on Amazon (see more Amazon fashion hauls here), Jordan’s big girl bed, and then a recap of Week 1 of the Get Fit Done Guide and what I ate last week.  If you want to hear more about the Get Fit Done Guide, this post sums it up! Let’s jump in!

AMAZON FASHION FINDS

Embroidered Top • White Jeans • Wedges (lower heeled wedges on sale)

Embroidered Top

I have a new Amazon post coming up for you on Friday, but I couldn’t wait to share a few of the things early because they are so good!  First up, I really liked this grey and white embroidered top.  It’s just the kind of thing that you can dress up for work or wear casually on the weekends.  It’s extra cool because the sleeves are a soft t-shirt material and the front is a blouse material.  The embroidery is well done and it has roll tab sleeves.  I feel like this is one you’ll want to buy in more than one color!

TOP FIT : Runs slightly small, I’m wearing a Small.

White Jeans

My favorite white jeans from last year sold out, so I’ve been on the hunt for a new affordable pair to recommend.  These white Levi’s hit all the marks for a great white jean – opaque!!, not at all see through, not a jegging!, short pockets that don’t hang low or stand out, and a hint of stretch.  They have a raw edge hem so you can easily snip them to your desired length and one slightly ripped right knee for a little edginess. And the best news, they’re under $40!

JEANS FIT : The jeans fit TTS.  My normal size is 25, but they were out of those at the time, so I’m in a 26, but the waist was bagging in the back.  The 26 fit okay everywhere else, but I bet they’ll stretch some with wear, so I’m going to return these and stalk the site for a 25 to come available!

Wedges

These wedges are the pair I wore all Spring and Summer long last year and they’re back in all sizes and several colors.  I definitely recommend the black and tan pair if you go for two because those will mix and match with everything in your wardrobe.  They are on the higher side, but very comfortable.

If you prefer a lower wedge, go for this pair.

WEDGES FIT : They run TTS.

Floral Sweatshirt • Skinny Ripped Jeans • Slip On Sneakers

Floral Sweatshirt

The cool this about this sweatshirt (aside from the pretty floral pattern), is that it feels silky soft on.  It’s a sweatshirt material on the inside, but the outside feels dressier.  And, it’s only $18!

TOP FIT : TTS, I’m wearing XS.

Skinny Ripped Jeans

These skinny jeans are only $39 and ankle length, but because I’m so short, they fit me full length.  I like the lighter wash, mid rise fit and slight distressing.  These will surely be a Spring and Summer staple!

JEANS FIT : TTS, I‘m wearing my normal size, 25.

Slip On Sneakers

If you’ve been here for long, I’m sure you’ve heard me raving about these slip on sneakers before.  I had the black pair and ran around all over NYC in them and my feet never hurt a bit!  And, they’re still going strong after wearing them all.the.time.

Now that this blush pink color is available, I’m sure I’ll get tons of wear out of them this Spring and Summer.  They are soooo comfy!  Definitely get these and let me know what you think! p.s.  I often wear them barefoot, but you can wear them with these no-show socks.

SNEAKERS FIT : They fit TTS.

Jordan’s Big Girl Bed

Over the holidays, while Jordan and I were out doing some shopping we popped into Pottery Barn Kids and she beelined straight for the big girl bed they had on display at the front of the store.  Of course I couldn’t blame her, this tufted upholstered bed is absolutely gorgeous, in fact I wouldn’t mind having it in my own room!

When we came home she couldn’t Stop talking about how she wanted a big girl bed and since she’s almost 3, I figured she was probably ready for it. I searched online to see if there was something comparable at a better price, but I kept coming back to the bed we saw in the store because it was just so pretty and well-made. Also, they were having a sale at the time and I know from past experience, it’s better to get what you love and keep it for years then to pay less money for something you aren’t crazy about and then regret it.

The big girl bed came with assembly which I really appreciate. The guys had it all set up with the packaging and cardboard removed in about 30 minutes! Jordan absolutely LOVES her new big girl bed.

I was a little bit nervous about how the transition from crib to bed would go, but surprisingly, it’s  been a breeze. She fell out one time and so now I put pillows on either side of the bed to help keep her protected.  She hasn’t fallen out since and it’s been about two months.

She also has not gotten up from a nap or bedtime, she will stay in the bed until I come and get her. With her feisty personality, that’s what I was most worried about!

This bed is a full-size, so I removed the dresser that was previously in her room and put a nightstand in its place. The nightstand was previously in the master bedroom, and looks pretty good in her room. I still need to rearrange the art and get proper bedding because the Peppa Pig duvet cover I got is a twin and too small for the bed.

I have to say, I am so so pleased with this bed and Jordan absolutely loves it! I think it makes her excited to go to bed and I love the size because we can easily snuggle in there together at night for bedtime stories, prayers, and songs.

  1. What color are your slip on slippers? I tried to order but didn’t see a blush pink, but there are several other pinks listed.
