Happy hump day! Yesterday was the first day I overslept and I was kicking myself! I set my alarm for 4:45 a.m. and almost got up right then, but instead talked myself into hitting snooze to give myself 10 more minutes in bed. I must have accidentally turned my alarm clock off because the next thing I knew it was 6:00 am! Ug! I still got up and did my ab workout and meditated, but I’ll be back at it again early tomorrow! It did make me already miss that accomplished feeling of having so much done by 6am, so I guess that’s good!View Post
Good morning Sunshine! Did y’all have a good Easter weekend? We did! We are actually still enjoying the Easter break with one more day off school, so I’ll be brief. I just wanted to share a few scenes from our Easter weekend with you, especially since we got to enjoy it with two kiddos running around this year! Looking back, last year, Jordan was just a wee babe and now she’s all over the place, full of curiosity and delight!
We took advantage of the warm weather on Saturday and headed to the pool for the first time this year. I think we have a water baby because she just loves splashing around in the water and we had to drag her away when it was time to go!View Post
Happy one more day of weekend friends! We are still on party high over here, having a great time celebrating James’ 7th birthday yesterday with all of his friends at a fun little go cart place in town. The kids had so much fun playing laser tag, arcade games, and air hockey and I was so glad not to have to do any house clean up afterward! #winwin
I came home last night and was doing a little couch relaxing and online browsing and saw so many awesome sales (40% & 50% off!) I didn’t want to keep to myself,View Post
Happy Friday friends! This was my first week back working out with my trainer three days and I was dying! He’s ramping up the intensity of our workouts, and I’m using My Fitness Pal to track my meals. I’m going to do this for the next five weeks until Jordan’s birthday! I can’t believe how quickly her first year is going by!
For today’s Weekend Steals, I’m sharing this plaid poncho ($88, $44 with free shipping) that I wore over the holiday break, but didn’t get to share the pics with you until now! It’s nice and oversize (almost too big for us petite gals,View Post
Welcome to 2017 friends! I can’t thank you enough for your readership and support over the years. Many of you have been with me from the very beginning or for several years now and I’m truly honored that you choose to spend a portion of your day here! 2016 was a wonderful year for our family with the addition of our baby sister, Jordan. She has melded into our family and I already can’t imagine our lives without her. She went to Grandma’s house while the rest of us rang in the new year at our friend’s house,View Post
I swear the weekends go faster and faster and just like that, we’re back to Monday! But, in just two short weeks, it will be Christmas break and we’ll have our son home for a couple weeks, so we’re looking forward to that! We also celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary over the weekend and I can’t believe next year will be 10 years. I love this little family of ours and of course Jordan brings so much joy!View Post
Good morning friends! We’re midway through this week and I don’t know about you, but I feel like it’s taken me the last two days to get my bearings again after Thanksgiving break! We’ve had a lot going on and I’m co-hosting a “Favorite Things” party with my girlfriends tomorrow, so I’ll be getting ready for that today! Should be so much fun to see what everyone brings- our limit was $25 so I’ll share the ideas with you after the party.
And speaking of favorite things, y’all let me know what you were hoping Santa would bring YOU!View Post
Did you get your holiday shopping started yesterday? Maybe even done for those overachievers out there! 😉 Those sales were bananas and my fingers are tired from clicking around on my computer, but nothing a strong cup of coffee this morning can’t fix!
Are you ready to turn the page to some Christmas holiday decor?! Over the Thanksgiving break, we’ve been making our way around our home spreading holiday cheer throughout. Thank God I have a helper in James or I’d be dead! I’ve been sharing bits on InstaStories and love watching them too. It’s been easier for me to post to one social media channel instead of two,View Post
I hope y’all had the best day with family and friends and lots of good food! We spent the day at my Mom’s house with my brothers, sis-in-law and sis-n-law to be, nieces and nephew (you can see bits on InstaStories) and now we’re back home, stuffed to the gills, cozied up on the couch in our Christmas pajamas!
But, I couldn’t let Thanksgiving day end without letting you know how much I appreciate YOU! Your encouragement, support and friendship over the years means so much to me. So many of you have been reading James was just a baby and now you’ve seen him grow up and us become a family of four.View Post
What a great weekend! We got our first legit cold front with temps dipping into the 40s, which made us southerners very, very happy. In a month, you might hear us moaning, “It’s so coooooold!” #wereficklelikethat But for now, we’re loving it and rejoicing in all the new wardrobe opportunities! I put Jordan in a long sleeve onesie and leg warmers on Sunday morning and when our 6-year old son woke up and saw her, he innocently asked, “Mom, why are Jordan’s legs in casts?” These kids kill me! And now, we’re out for Thanksgiving break (yay!!) so posting will be light this week,View Post
Yay for Friday, right?! We had a weeknight date night last night, which never happens, so I’m feeling like the weekend has already started! AND, I cleaned out my office closet, which was a nightmare and got it all nice and neat and organized! I should’ve taken before and after pics to share with you but I got so busy in the process that I completely forgot.
Rereading portions of this book gave me the nudge to let lots of stuff go. The last thing to go through are the boxes of pictures dating back to my childhood that I plan to put into photo albums I’ll want to display on our bookshelf so we can actually enjoy them!View Post
I’m kicking off the holiday season by teaming up with 10 of my favorite stylish blog friends to bring you a super fun Gift Guide we all hand-crafted just for you! The heavy lifting and technical part of putting together this gorgeous, glossy, magazine-style gift guide with shoppable links goes to the talented and created blogging duo, Bridget and Casey from The DIY Playbook.
The rest of us each personally scoured the internet by category for our favorite items we know and love and swear by to make your holiday shopping easier this year. I was tasked with creating a gift list for the fitness enthusiast,View Post
We made it to Friday! I don’t know about you, but this mama is ready for a drink! And if you have any tips on helping adjust a little baby to the time change, I’m all ears! I’m trying to push her bedtime back little by little, so hopefully she’ll adjust soon!
Of all the jackets in this Fall Must-Have Jackets series (see Part 1 here & Part 2 here), the jean jacket is the one I get the most use out of year round. It is without fail my favorite travel jacket because it’s compact,View Post
Today, we continue our Must-Have Fall Jackets series (yesterday was the faux leather jacket) and I’m highlighting the useful, lightweight yet hard-working, Military Jacket today. This is no delicate piece, you can crumple it up, take it on the airplane or keep it in your car for those places that get chilly even when it’s warm out.
It’s easy to pair your military jacket with blue jeans, a black and white striped top and colorful scarf (I love that look and will show you that at the bottom of this post),View Post
Waking up so very tired today after trying to stay up late enough to hear the election results (didn’t make it) and then Jordan still hasn’t gotten the memo about Daylight Savings. So much for that extra hour of sleep! I know so many of our country is stunned and saddened right now and so many others still have hope for our future. It feels like this election lasted an eternity and I’m grateful for the finality. I’m also an eternal optimist and will just say, “I know everything’s gonna be alright.” I’m still just trying to figure out how to appropriately and sensitively answer all of my curious son’s questions.View Post
Thank you so much for your kind comments on yesterday’s Winter Wonderland post! One of the coolest things about blogging these last 6+ years has been making friends with other bloggers and YOU!
In Houston, if you see me running around, please don’t hesitate to say hi! Even though you might have to do a double take because now with baby, I’m often out and about without makeup and my hair on top of my head with spit up on my shirt, but I’ll still be so happy to say hi and give you a hug!View Post
Every time I start to share a baby update with you, I’m amazed at how quickly it goes! Yes, time goes by quickly with our 6 year-old son too, but it feels like everything with Jordan is happening even faster! She’s gotten mobile very quickly and is already on her way to walking! I hear about these babies walking at 9 months, but I’m not sure we’ll be there that fast. My husband bets it’ll be by Christmas. We’ll see!
Today, I’m sharing all about the 8 month progress, and to keep this post from becoming a novel, I’ll share how I transitioned Jordan from breastmilk to formula and started her on solid foods in another post.View Post
What are your go-to winter boots? Now that we’ve gotten a taste of cooler temps, I’m all in sharing some cozy, cozy looks with the cozy of the coziest boots. Weather permitting, I love to run around in my soft boots. They keep your feet super warm even on the coldest days and are always so comfy.
