Hi friends! Happy Friday!  Can you believe Halloween is tomorrow?  Are you doing anything fun?  Our school is foregoing the annual costume party where parents could attend and it makes me so sad!  Some of the kids in our school are SO creative with their costumes and its aways so fun to see everyone dressed up.  The kids still get to dress up and have a classroom party, we just can’t attend.  :(They’ll go to a friends’ house for Halloween and I know they will have a blast!

I had a super fun date night last night.  We went to another couples’

Hi friends!  Welcome back to my blog and welcome OCTOBER!  Did you think we’d never get towards the end of this year?  Well, I can tell you, my kids are already counting the days until Christmas and I don’t blame them!  I LOVE this time of year!

The weather in Houston has taken a glorious turn from high 90s and so.freaking.humid to bright, crisp and cool.  It’s put all of our city in the best mood!  And just one more day ’til the weekend!  Things are lookin’ good friend!

It’s time to take a peek back at last month and recap all.the.things.

Hi friends! Can you believe we’re in September finally?!?!  It felt like it would never get here, 2020 has been a million months long!  Since my kids will be going back to school this month, it really feels like the first fresh start I’ve had in awhile.  And I love a new beginning!

I’m so pumped to start our free 30-day fitness challenge today! I hope you are too!  I know it takes time to see results, but consistency is the key, and if you stick with it, you WILL see changes!  It typically takes me two weeks to start really feeling better and six weeks seems to be a sweet spot for starting to look really good!

Good morning Monday! I hope y’all had a great weekend! Thank you SO much for all the love on the Nordstrom vs. Amazon post.  I truly enjoyed putting that post together for you, and given your enthusiastic response, I’ll definitely do more for you.

In fact, I found these chain link mules on Amazon that look identical to the Steve Madden pair at Nordstrom.  The Steve Madden pair sold out in the tan color, but they have other colors still available.  The Amazon pair looks like it might not ship until September,

Today, I’m recapping July and it’s always fun to look back and catch the highlights if you missed it!

May Rewind & Coming Together

May Rewind & Coming Together

Good morning friends!  I don’t often miss a Monday post, but with everything going on over the weekend, my heart was heavy and I found it difficult to focus.  I saw the pain and anger in so many faces and it’s devastating to realize what’s underneath all that emotion.

My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced racial inequality and unfair and hateful treatment based solely on the color of their skin.  It’s 100% not right and I will be so much more aware of how I act, respond and raise my family.  I want to be part of the solution and I know I can do better.

Good morning friends! We’re almost to Friday, which is always a good thing!  How’s your week been? It’s been confusing here with our stay-at-home order being lifted May 1 and then I read it’s being put back in place until May 20.  But then, salons are opening Friday. Restaurants can open at 25% capacity.

Regardless, not much has changed in our world. We’re still staying home except for essentials like groceries.  And even then, I’m wearing a mask, so it doesn’t really feel like things have returned to “normal”.

I am hopeful that we’ll be able to get ahead of this virus and be able to live more of our regular lives with friends and family in the near future.

Easter Online | March Best Sellers & Rewind

Hello friends!  Yesterday kicked off a brand new month, and I have officially decided it’s time to ACCEPT my new normal, instead of resisting it. Like we were talking about yesterday, I had to stop and pause to take everything in. So much of our normal daily life has been interrupted, so it takes time to wrap your head around it and process the change.

Now, I’m choosing to EMBRACE this time and am learning how to adjust.  Like anyone who has young kids at home, it’s been really challenging for me to work and also to know what I should be sharing.

Helping Support Healthcare Workers from Home

Helping Support Healthcare Workers from Home

Hi friends!  We made it to Friday!  Our first week of homeschool in the books and everyone is alive and well!  I was probably more worried about me surviving it than them, but our teachers have been so amazing, they made it easier on us!

I feel like we are in our own safe little bubble inside our home, but I know that’s not the case for everyone. This week has been wild, difficult, crazy, an emotional roller coaster, yet lovely in its own ways.  Having the kids home all day has forced me to work less than I’m used to,

Good morning friends! It’s so good to be back here with you today!  This weekend felt like a blur.  I found myself alternating between two modes: extreme cleaning and decluttering and utter laziness.  Then, I’d eat very clean, followed by wine and brownies.  Very strange times we are living in.  Yet, I continue to count my blessings and pray for the health and safety of everyone on planet earth.

We start homeschooling today and I’m feeling completely overwhelmed.  Last night I printed the 52 emails I got from various teachers with links and passwords and instructions and I’m like OMG- I’m gonna fail so big at this.

February Rewind & Top Sellers

Good morning friends! What a week it has already been!  Actually the last month has been a whirlwind!  February was Valentine’s Day, followed four days later by Jordan’s birthday, then my own birthday two days after that!  Then, we celebrated James’ birthday yesterday!  It’s a lot crammed into just a few weeks!  And at this age, things are double or triple with classroom parties, home parties and then actual birthday day celebration.  I’m pooped!

Thankfully, this is also our last weekend where two sports overlap.  We’ve been going hard with basketball and baseball and basketball ends Saturday.  I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend!

January Rewind

Hi friends! Did you enjoy the Superbowl yesterday? We watched at a friend’s house with a small group of friends and kids.  It was so great- lots of yummy food and the kiddos running around in the backyard- half watching the game, half throwing the football.  Good old fashioned fun!

Then, during the halftime show, my friend’s mom came running into the house from the backyard shouting, “THERE’S A FIRE NEXT DOOR, CALL 911!”  We looked outside and could see the flames!  I ran and got my phone and called  911 while gathering the kids to get them safely out front away from the fire.

The kids and I are ringing in the new year with our friends and I’m making these mocktails for the kiddos.  I think they’ll get a kick out of them! They’re made with sparkling grape juice and gummy worms/bears.

Hi friends and happy Friday!  I’m sure lots of you are busy with work parties, gift exchanges, and holiday classroom parties today!  The Friday before Christmas is such a fun day.  We were supposed to have the kids’ Advent program and class parties today too, but since school is closed, they are rescheduled until the Friday after we return in January.  Better late than never!

I have been so sick the last few days, but I’m finally feeling on the mend.  I had a serious bout of insomnia after I got a steroid shot and that was miserable.

Hi friends! Happy Halloween!  I’m sending a darling pumpkin and Paul McCartney to school today, then will be back later for the costume contest and class parties.  The kids at our school go all out on costumes and it always blows me away at how creative and cool they are.  I’ll try to share some on Stories!

I cannot believe we are already at the end of October and it has been a whirlwind.  October was the first full month that my divorce was final.  I thought I had grown and been through a lot last year,
