Hey friends and Happy Friday! It’s been a really good week over here. James’ camp is going awesome and the friends love carpooling together. We’ve also gone out to dinner, been to the splash pad a million times, an Astros game, had a friend sleep over, been to Grandma’s house, and yesterday Candytopia. Sounds like a good summer to me! And also like I need a nap! 😉View Post
Even as a work-from-home mom, I make an effort to get myself ready and put on something cute for the day! It not only makes me more productive, it helps me feel better about myself! I’m often mixing and matching things from my closet or wearing jean shorts on repeat during the summer, but every month I do a round-up of what I wore, my Outfits Lately, in an effort to provide you some wardrobe inspiration of your own.
Good morning Monday friends! I hope you are enjoying a long weekend with your loved ones. We’ll be heading back from Lost Pines today, and then chilling at home for the rest of the day, getting back to life for that last week of school. Finally!
Today’s post is a full of lots of outfit inspiration with everything from shorts to dresses to swimsuits. I haven’t done one of these posts in awhile, so it’s a looong one! I’m also rounding up the Memorial Day sales- there are some good ones, so I think I’ll be shopping online alongside you!View Post
Good Monday morning friends! I hope y’all had a great weekend! I used the weekend to rest and recharge and sleep in! and so I’m feeling really good today! I’m back to waking up at 5am during the week, so getting to sleep even until 7am feels dreamy!
Today I’m rounding up a month’s worth of outfits, full of everything from jeans to shorts to dresses and jumpsuits. Even a couple swimsuits and coverups!
Our weather is starting to heat up- it got into the 80s last week, took a dip yesterday and today,View Post
Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We had another jam packed one with birthday party, baseball and basketball and Jordan’s preschool assessment. Cue big fat mama tears! She’ll be starting pre-K3 in the Fall and I cannot believe it’s almost here already. Originally, I was thinking she might not start school until pre-K4, but this girl will be ready by August! Mama’s not, but she is. I’m proud of how bright she is, I just wish time would slow down a little!
She was so very proud to wear the uniform Ali-Shaun’s daughter passed down to her!View Post
Welcome to the weekend! I might be moving a little slow today with our Favorite Things party last night! I swear, I’m so lucky to have such an awesome group of friends who make me laugh ’til I cry! Those nights are just the best! I’ll do a detailed recap next week with what everyone brought, but in the meantime, you can check out last year’s Fave Things party and how we do it and the hilarious Stories!View Post
Good morning Friday! Every Friday feels so good because that is when I try to take the afternoons to do something fun with my Mom and Jordan, and today we are planning to do some Fall decor shopping at Hobby Lobby. If that doesn’t get us in the Fall mood, I don’t know what will! I’ve also been trying to dress for fall while it’s still warm out so I wanted to share a round up of summer to fall outfit ideas.
I’m also still on a high from last night’s Project OneWay. The show was so fun and even though I was so nervous/excited beforehand #jitters!,View Post
Happy Friday friends! It’s a bittersweet weekend over here as we prepare to send James back to school on Monday! He’ll be going into third grade and that suddenly seems so old! At this age, he’s a fascinating mix of maturity and innocence, with a good bit of sweetness still there. Since he was a baby, I’ve loved every age and 8 is no different.
GETTING READY FOR BACK TO SCHOOLView Post
Woo hoo friends!! Happy Friday! I’m always so excited for the weekend and especially this one because we’re celebrating one of my very best friend’s 50th birthday! We’ve been friends for about 20 years! It’s wild to say that!! I guess that means I’m getting old too! 🙂View Post
Happy weekend friends! I hope you have the best weekend chillin’ with your family and friends! Shannon and I are kicking off the weekend with some super fun plans that involve my boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. He’s performing in Houston tonight and we were lucky to get tickets courtesy of Verizon Up! Can’t stop the feelin . . . . . !!!! Join us tonight on Stories for some behind the scenes peeks!
Then we’ll be heading to Lost Pines on Saturday for some family fun. I’m definitely looking forward to relaxing in the sun with a big,View Post
Hello friends and Happy Friday! What a whirlwind week it’s been! Monday was a day off school for us, so it was a short week with lots to accomplish!
Poor Jordan got pink eye and I had to run her to the doctor at rush hour, but thankfully she’s doing much better! Yesterday, our bedroom got a fresh coat of paint to lighten up the room and have it coordinate better with our new wallpaper! I don’t have good pictures to show you yet, but I will next week!
And the most special news of all,View Post
Good morning sunshine! Happy Friday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? If you happen to be in Houston, I would love to meet you at the At Home decor store tomorrow morning! I’ll be at this location from 9 AM to noon with Ashley and Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic.
I got to meet them years ago at a blogging conference and it’s so amazing to see how they’ve grown their blog and brand over the years. Now they’ve designed a chic farmhouse collection exclusively for At Home which is such a dream come true,View Post
I think we are finally out of what has been 20-year record low temps for us in Houston! We had two days where it actually snowed!, but unfortunately for the kids, most of it only stuck to the roofs! School was out for two days with a bonus day for MLK day, so it’s been 5 days of vacation with everyone starting to go stir crazy! Not to mention the scary icy roads! As much as we look forward to some respite from our typical hot and humid weather, this freezing weather hasn’t been all that fun! This weekend I’m hoping to nail down some of the details for Jordan’s second birthday party.View Post
Hello friends! I must admit I’m a little bit in awe that Christmas is in just a few days and 2018 is right on it’s heels! Where did this year go?! Every year seems to fly by, but this one especially seems to have gone super quick! I think it’s because Jordan is going from 1 to 2 and that brings so many changes so fast! You guys should hear her talking up a storm now! She’s stringing words together and it’s the cutest thing! I’ll have to capture it on Stories so you can hear her adorable little toddler voice!View Post
And now the countdown is on to Thanksgiving! We’re hosting a luncheon for our deserving teachers today and I’ll be volunteering in James’ 2nd grade classroom while the teachers take a load off and enjoy some good food. I’m happy to do it and the kids are so good, so I’m sure I’ll survive! I really give huge props to all the teachers out there. They do so much for our kids and I know they don’t always get the credit they deserve. Then, James is off school for a week!!! so I’m thinking we’ll get on with our Christmas decorating and go to the zoo- I don’t think Jordan has ever been!View Post
Hi friends! Y’all have no idea how happy I am that we made it to Friday!! That Project OneWay fashion show was looming over my head and it was such a fantastic relief to enter the weekend having it over with and successful!! The event was last night and I was all nerves beforehand, but the audience was amazing and it went so well and ended up being super fun! Of course, I’m exhausted today, but it was worth it! I’ve been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone with these types of speaking events, because I actually do enjoy them once I get going!View Post
Hello from the Big Apple! I’m so excited to be back in the city and have enjoyed every minute so far! The BH&G event was gorgeous and the best part was seeing all the friends I don’t get to see in person unless we get together at events like this. Today, we’re heading out on a food tour and I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to that- especially the Italian fare! Then, it’s onto a show and dinner before catching an early flight home tomorrow. I will be sure to do a detailed recap of everything soon,View Post
We made it to the end of the week friends! And over here it’s been crazy because we’re preparing for Hurricane Harvey to hit Houston. Schools are now closed Friday and Monday. I really hope everyone stays safe and it ends up being much ado about nothing. But, we all remember Hurricane Ike and losing power for 10 days and that was a nightmare! Fingers crossed and prayers being sent up!
Also, I messed up publishing my Day 2 recap of our New Orleans trip yesterday and accidentally back-published it for last Monday! I’m not sure how that happened,View Post
Woo hoo for Friday! Now that we’re almost at the end of July, I’m suddenly realizing just how little is left of our summer break. James goes back to school in a little over 2 weeks! Nooooooo! I’m so not ready for that, so I’m definitely gonna milk these last couple weeks! When do your kids go back to school?View Post
