October Rewind

It’s a giddy with excitement kind of day over here!! Not only is it HALLOWEEN and the kids are AMPED UP! I tell ya!  But we’re also thisclose to becoming World Series Champions!!!  Houston has an electric-feeling quality in the air and it’s just one of those days where you feel great to be alive with hope and happiness about the day and future!  #HoustonStrong! Let’s bring it home, ‘Stros!  I have a feeling all those tiny trick-or-treaters will be ringing doors early, so that we can all get back home and watch the game!

October was a busy month, and in case you missed any of it, I’ve wrapped it all up for you in a shiny bow here. Just click the PINK TITLE to read the original post.

THIS & THAT 10.2.17

These “This & That” posts have quickly become my favorite posts to share with you because they are so casual and I just feel like we’re chatting!  In this one, I shared lots of new Fall style goodness, including this hot, choker sweater dress (I got the pink, but I really like the black too, #decisions!) along with some oldie but goodies that have made a comeback, like this classic black and white poncho.

I also shared my best packing tips and the comfiest travel outfit ever!  Don’t be surprised if you catch me in the airport in the future and I’m wearing the exact same thing!

GETTING HELP IN THE KITCHEN WITH BLUE APRON

Those weeks when our Blue Apron meals arrive have become a family favorite!  It just seems like it’s getting harder and harder to get to the grocery store and maybe as the year draws to an end, I’m feeling less and less creative in the kitchen.  Bottom line is, it’s a sigh of relief when that little box with the blue logo arrives at our door!  There’s a coupon code in this post if you want to try it!

10 BASICS TO MIX & MATCH WITH JEANS

Fall basics is what most of you asked for when I was preparing to talk to the mom’s group, so I put together a handy collage of my 10 Must-Have Fall Basics.  With these pieces, you can mix and match them with accessories to create different looks that are both cute and comfy- that’s always my goal!

OCTOBER LOVES

In August, I started doing a “Monthly Loves” series, where I share what I’m loving for that month, with the aim to highlight fun and fabulous things I swear by, some things I might want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds.  All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month! In October, it was all about blush pink and girly Fall things!

Reversible  Tote under $50 • Tank Dress  • Hooded Cardigan  • Ball Cap • Leggings  •  Slip On Sneakers (size down half) •  Puffer Vest  • Slippers • Ruffled Peplum Top
I have since ordered and received the slippers and they are ultra warm and cozy for your feet.  I plan to do a detailed review soon, but right now, I’m not sure they will live up to their potential here in Houston, but in a colder city, you’re gonna want these for sure!  They are indoor/outdoor, so you can run in and out in them and never have to change shoes!  I haven’t decided to give up on mine just yet, but I’m still considering other options. Maybe it just hasn’t gotten cold enough for me to really appreciate them!

IN THE DRESSING ROOM

Y’alls top two faves from my last Dressing Room post were the weekend sweatshirt and white sweater dress!  I must say, you are my peeps, because I loved both of those too! But there was tons more, always with honest fit tips and reviews and I’ll have a new Dressing Room post for you this Friday!

BH&G & BLOOM RECAP

It goes in waves, sometimes nothing goes on for months #yawn #reallife and then other times, it’s nonstop! Getting to experience things like the BG&G Stylemaker Event in NYC and speak on a panel at the Bloom Workshop in Dallas are the icing on the cake with this blogging gig I’m honored to be a part of. And spending time with these girls makes it even better!

Even though it’s October, we were still TRANSITIONING to Fall here in Houston. This collection of recent outfits has great motivation for stretching out those summer favorites and bringing in the Fall pieces you’re dying to wear!  And thankfully, now that we’re about to turn the page into November, there’s finally a chill in the air! #thankyouverymuch

THIS & THAT

Hi again! These posts are so fun (and remind me more of the “old” blogging days where we just shared non-professionally styled and photographed posts), that I’ve started doing them every couple of weeks! With the Astros going to the World Series and a quick Pumpkin Patch visit, we had a lot going on lately!

I also recapped that time I hosted a one-woman fashion show!  That’s something I never dreamed I would do, but it was a ton of fun and I’d love to do it again!  But part of what made it so nice were the awesome women who came and chatted with me afterward!  Big hugs to you!!

  1. Hello!
Question — I have 2 trips coming up in the next month. To start, do you recommend the set of three large eBags? Or something smaller? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

    1. Hi Tracy! I think that’s a good way to go and the 3-pack with 3 different sizes is also really useful. The large ones really hold a lot- so maybe it depends on how long your trip is and how much you’re packing. They will keep you so organized!

  2. Hi! I have been wondering about your bed room rug, I love it and I noticed you have it layered on carpet, does it lay flat? I have been wanting to put a rug in my living room but we have carpet. Do you think it would lay nice? Any tips… Thanks!
