Hello friends! How is your week going? Â It felt like a long weekend over here taking Monday off for that quick trip to the beach, but Tuesday and Wednesday are jam packed getting ready for and attending the Bloom Workshop in Dallas. Â I’m so thrilled to get to be a part of it and really excited to meet everyone and be around other creative, inspiring people. Â So much of blogging can get lonely when it’s just you and the computer all day, which is why I love connecting with YOU so much! Â I so appreciate each and every comment and so many of us are old friends because we go waaaaay back!
Today is one of my favorite kinds of posts to put together for you as IÂ highlight fun and fabulous things I swear by, some things I might want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds. Â All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month! Â Even though we’re mid-October now, you’d barely know it with our temperatures! Â Houston needs to get the memo because we are all ready for ALL the Fall things!
This month’s October Loves includes my current obsession with all shades of pink and the coziest slippers I’m dying to get my hands on- or rather, feet in! Â Maybe I’ll put them on my Christmas wish list for Santa! Â What are you loving for October?
If there’s one thing I swear by in this post, it’s this faux leather reversible tote!  It’s incredibly sturdy and such a steal at under $50! I’ve always loved the neutral tan combos, but new color combinations have been released and they are so good!  Check out the gold/ivory and the slate blue.  These make great gifts too. I gave my MIL this black/tan one as a Christmas gift last year!
Another steal of a dress (only $56!) is this tank dress with side ruching that I promise you, you will look amazing in!  It looks so good on all body types- even expectant mamas! I wore it while I was pregnant with Jordan and felt amazing in it! The body contouring secret is in the side ruching that is both flattering and forgiving. The little criss cross front is artfully placed so that your legs look long and lean. Balanced against the higher neckline, the dress won’t make you feel too exposed.
The dress can be worn year round, in the Spring and Summer with sandals and wedges or for weekends with sneakers and a ball cap. In the Fall, I love it paired with booties and a cardigan.  It also comes in long sleeves!
This hooded cardigan is also under $50 and just about the softest thing I’ve put on my skin in a long time.  It rivals the softness of the Cozy Cardi, but also has a hood, which the cozy cardi doesn’t.  This soft pink color is really pretty and also looks great with your grey jeans.
I’m all about a ball cap for baseball games and bad hair days! I love the clean style on this one and the soft blush pink color! When I wear a cap, I usually pull my hair back in a low ponytail and then pull out a few whisps of hair around my ears for a softer look.
Since entering my 40’s and especially after having Jordan (you saw my Body After Baby post, right?!), I’ve become a huge believer in these Zella high waist leggings. They are higher, but not uncomfortably high, and they hold you in so you feel secure and not at all ‘poochy’ if that’s a word.  It’s a word around here, because I definitely have it, although I can conceal it well.
These leggings are also silky smooth with a mesh panel at the calf that is supposed to make them more breathable. Â I’m really digging this new color combo – this blush pink, magenta, army green camo combo. Â Cute, right?!
For running errands, especially with kids in tow, sneakers are life.  And when I don’t have to bend down to tie my shoes, even better!  I have the blush pink and it’s crazy how much I can wear them with! They run big, so size down 1/2, but they fit my wider foot very well. With no show socks, they are even comfier!
I don’t normally shop at Old Navy too often (although I have gotten several great things for Jordan there), but every now and then they have something that is really good and always at an affordable price. I’ve gotten many of my puffer vests there and they have a great selection of colors- now in pinks!  They have lasted years and I’ll be pulling them out again, but it will probably be a couple months because these things really keep you warm.  I love them in lieu of a heavy, bulky coat and they do the trick really well in Houston!
These are the slippers that are already on my Christmas Wish List for sure. Â I’ve been waiting for them to come out in pretty colors (although the neutrals are fine), but I wanted something more girlie. Â Why not?! Â Not only are this pair a gorgeous plum color, they are practical and indoor/outdoor friendly. Â Don’t be surprised if you see me on a weekend donut run and I’m wearing these babies!
Last but not least, add a ruffle to a top and I’m sold! Â Of course I’m drawn to the grey, but it comes in tons of colors and the deep plum is particularly pretty!
See y’all Friday with a major Fall Dressing Room post! Â

I can’t wait until it’s cool enough to pull out a cozy cardigan here in Alabama! Those are my favorite pieces to wear, but I just can’t stand them right now without sweating!
