Hi friends, happy Friday!! You know what finally feels good today?! Waking up with a fully stocked fridge after being on empty for much of the week! I hate looking into a pitifully empty fridge, so disappointing! We’ve resorted to Uber Eats and Favor so many times this week, which is why I do love those weeks where we have those handy meals on hand. Tonight, I’m even going back to basics and roasting a chicken Ina Garten style and we’ll have it with roasted carrots and mashed potatoes and homemade gravy! I always post a favorite recipe in my HWH Weekend Edition newsletter, so if you subscribe to my blog via email, you should get that on Saturday!
Today, I’m back with Outfit #2 on our Mix & Match journey of Fall basics. If you missed Outfit #1 with that amazing sleek Long Cardigan and Bootcut Jeans that give you legs for days, check it out here.
For Fall, we tend to think of warmer colors that remind us of leaves changing colors like, rust, olive, and mustard yellow, but the cooler colors work just as well and can be a refreshing change. Check out this lilac sweater!
To mix and match with my new fave dark whiskered jeans, I added this lilac flare sleeve sweater and the lightweight multicolored scarf that pulls the whole outfit together. But don’t worry, this sweater does come in multiple colors, and the “brown rustic” is very traditionally Fall! See it here with the prettiest knee high boots.
How fun are the sleeves on this sweater? They are exaggerated flare sleeves, so don’t fly away! but they aren’t too long, so they’re easy to contend with. The sweater is waist length, but you can still do a mini tuck if you like that look. And with this top, you can wear it on both shoulders or pull it to one side for an off the shoulder look like I showed you in my latest This & That post.
It fits TTS, I’m wear XXS.
I love how the blue purple and pink in the fringe scarf play up the color in the sweater.
I couldn’t decide what bag to carry, so I brought both the reversible tote and the little crossbody. The navy in the tote looks so good with the scarf and jeans and is a very practical weekend bag for running errands. Did you catch the new colors in the tote? That bronzy one is calling my name, but is it acceptable to have 4 of the same bag?!?!
On the other hand, the little crossbody bag is more date night or girls night out with the blingy gold chain and compact size.
And these booties are my go-to for fall when I don’t want the exposed peep toe. They are extremely comfortable and you can wear them without a sock or with a no-show sock. I love this slate grey that goes with so much, but I couldn’t resist also ordering the “foxy” which is a neutral taupe, when they went on sale 20% off. The taupe will really go with nearly everything in your closet, so they are a safe bet if you are only buying one new pair this year.
