I’m forever a fitness fanatic because I love feeling strong and energized. Exercise not only keeps me healthy, it lifts my spirits and helps me relax during busy, stressful days.
Well, here we are again. I gained too much weight during the holidays and I want to let it go! Are you in the same boat?!
Sure, indulging and not really giving too much thought to what you’re eating is fun for awhile, but if you’re like me, when it catches up to you, it’s not so fun anymore. #amiright?
I tend to go in phases where I’m very good with eating healthy, and then periods when I’m eating ice cream every night, ordering in, and just generally not being as mindful about all the calories I’m consuming.
Hi friend! I hope you are doing amazing and enjoying your summer! I mentioned yesterday that my son is doing a camp for 3 weeks, so that’s put us back into a routine, which I’m not complaining about. It helps with my sanity!
And I’m still getting in those workouts, although sometimes they’re the ‘at home’ kind with my daughter running around in the background. She’s good company:)
In early April, I started walking, then jogging for exercise and was enjoying it so much that, within a few weeks, I challenged myself to run a half marathon.
Hi friend! I hope your week is going awesome! I’m excited to share my new fitness goal with you. It’s a goal I never dreamed I’d want to set, but here were are and I’m really pumped about it! I’m also happy to partner with Kohl’s on this post and you’ll hear more below about how I’m relying on their active & wellness department to support this new goal.
During law school, I used to run Memorial park several times a week.
Hi friend! Is anyone else looking forward to the weekend already?! We have Jordan’s first soccer game and I know it’s gonna be the cutest! Watching those little guys on the field makes my heart swell. Then, we’ll be celebrating Brian’s daughter’s birthday- she’s such an awesome girl. Her and James are the same age and good buddies.
LET’S GET MOVING – OUTSIDE
I’ve never considered myself an ‘outdoorsy’ person. But, more and more, I’m recognizing the benefits of getting outside and being in nature. I’m realizing that we are all people of nature and what it does for our mind,
Hi friends! How was your Monday? I was still waking up slow, but it’s back to the grind today because the kids go back to school. That first day back to the real world after Christmas break is a hard one! Am I right?!
This time of year is also when many of us are craving a fresh start, especially in the fitness department. I’ve been pretty good about getting my workouts in and eating my healthy prepped meals, but, I also went way overboard on sweets during the holidays. I cannot resist Rhonda’s chocolate chip cookies!
Hi friends! How was your weekend? We enjoyed lovely low temps and even got to dine on the patio, which is such a rarity in Houston. We’re usually sweating our butts off, so when we get patio weather, we definitely take advantage of it!
I also ate out sooo much, which I definitely enjoyed, but now I’m ready to get back to it!
How I’m Staying in Shape & What I’m Eating
I’m so thankful y’all encouraged me to do another fitness challenge in September- I really needed it. If you don’t recall, we challenged ourselves to workout for 20 minutes a day,
Hi friends! I’m sooo pumped for today! I’ve been thinking about it ALL weekend and may have even jumped the gun by getting in two walks to the park and meal prepping meals for the week!
Today, it’s back by popular demand — our FREE 30-day fitness challenge! I need it, you need it, and we all want to look and feel better! Quarantine life has taken it’s toll on our mental and physical states – I’ve gained about 6 pounds and can barely button my jeans!
Hi friends! Did y’all have a good weekend? I didn’t have my kids with me, so I used the time to: (a) sleep in on Saturday (until 8:30!!), and (b) catch up on blog stuff! I prepared today’s Activewear post, and Wednesday’s Hair and Beauty post! I’m super excited to share these goodies with you because there are some things I don’t want you to miss!
Today, Nordstrom Influencers can start shopping and on Thursday, all Nordstrom cardholders can shop the Anniversary sale. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, the sale opens to EVERYONE on Wednesday,
Thank you to JCPenney & ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.
Hello friends and happy Friday! How was your week? It was a long one here. But, I have some good news to report!
I’m so thrilled and thankful to share that we raised $2,395 to provide meals to healthcare workers and staff. While most of us remain in the comfort and safety of our homes, our frontline heroes are working hard and risking their own lives caring for patients. We wanted to bless them and show our appreciation with hot, delicious meals so they had one less thing to think about while selflessly doing their jobs.

Hi friends! Who’s happy for Friday?! #raisesbothhands
It’s always right about this time of year when there’s only 11 days until Christmas and I start freaking out. You too? No matter how good my intentions, it seems like something always falls through the cracks or goes disastrously wrong. Did you see our picture with Santa this year?! Ha! You just have to laugh!
Well, one thing is for sure, if I take it back to basics – sleep,
Hello friend and happy Wednesday! Midway through the week is always a good feeling! I’ve been knee deep in sales since last week and then Monday with the Amazon Prime sale, but yesterday was all about the kids. We played, went to WalMart looking for toys, and then hung around the house making forts, playing Busytown 500 times and also had Ali-Shaun’s daughter over for a bit. Listening to little girl giggles makes me smile inside. ♥
I swear this summer is going too fast and I have that dreaded fear that I can’t slow time and in just a few weeks Jordan will be in PreK3.
Thank you to adidas and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post.
We’re halfway through the #Move20For30 Challenge! It’s Day 16 and I’m so proud of you guys and myself! Even though I missed two days, I’m still so thankful that I’ve committed to this because I feel so much better when I’m moving everyday. You can’t let those little setbacks get you down. Tomorrow is a new day and I love a fresh start!
I wanted to share a few tips for how to fit exercise into your day even when you don’t feel like you have time.

Good morning friends! Welcome to a new week! I got so much done on Sunday and was ready to start the week fresh, then wouldn’t you know, I overslept on Monday! Ug. Oh well, it happens to the best of us, so I just had to start my workout late (Jordan jumped in which was actually really cute), and then start the day a little later. Now, I’m all showered and feeling much better. Monday, we’re turning this day around!
Take a picture now! If you haven’t taken your ‘before’ picture yet, do it today! If you’ve been following along this week, your body is already experiencing some changes (aside from being sore from all those pushups;) and we want you to see a difference from the day you started!
Good morning friends! Did you watch the Superbowl last night? Can I confess something? I didn’t watch much- it was just on in the background. Are you horrified?! Are we still friends? I hope so. Instead, I was finishing this post, addressing Jordan’s birthday invites, and getting ready for the week ahead.
I wanted to be on my game since we’re starting Week 1 of Get Fit Done! If you haven’t joined us already, it’s not too late. You can get the Get Fit Done Guide here. And if you aren’t ready to join just yet, but still want to do a fitness challenge,
