Hi friends! How was your weekend? I spent the last 3 days in the beautiful town of Denver, Colorado celebrating my best girlfriend’s 50th birthday. We had a great time being together and exploring the city. The weather could not have been more perfect, especially when you’re used to the blazing heat and humidity of Houston, Texas! I swear, Denver is one place I wouldn’t mind moving to! The scenery is gorgeous and there are so many active things to do.View Post
I’m forever a fitness fanatic because I love feeling strong and energized. Exercise not only keeps me healthy, it lifts my spirits and helps me relax during busy, stressful days.
Friends! We are HALFWAY through the first ever #HWHFitnessChallenge! Isn’t that awesome?! I have to admit, this week getting in my exercise everyday was tough, but I did it! It was the first time a little bit of doubt crept into my mind where I thought- maybe this challenge is too long, maybe I should have made it 21 days instead of 30 days. But, then my SMARTER self reminded me, heck no! This is a challenge and WE can do it!View Post
Welcome back to Week 2 of the #HWHFitnessChallenge! I have to give y’all a huge thank you for joining in with such enthusiasm! It’s contagious and because of YOU, I haven’t missed a workout yet and I’ve been eating so much better. I’m actually already starting to feel a difference in how I feel! Today starts DAY 8 and I’ve got some at home workout ideas to share with you using an ottoman! Let me know in the comments how it’s going for you!
If you’re just now learning about this challenge and want to join in,View Post
I’m so pumped about today! We’re launching a 30-day fitness challenge designed to help us lose weight and get toned up for the summer! I’ve actually wanted to do something like this for years, so I’m thrilled it’s finally happening. I’ve heard from so many of you that are excited to join in, and I’m genuinely honored that we’ll be doing this together. My Mom (this lady never exercises and eats ice cream every night!), Shannon, and Ali-Shaun are doing it too! It will be challenging, but it will be worth it!
Of course,View Post
I had the Mondayest morning ever yesterday walking into my living room, being very confused as to why Jordan was standing in a huge pile of sand. And then I saw the empty breadcrumb container a few feet away. These toddlers are quick I tell ya! They don’t miss an opportunity for mischief! But today is a new day and I think y’all are going to like today’s post! It’s Part 2 in collaboration with my favorite fitness brand, Zella at Nordstrom, and it’s all about how to kick butt and be productive every day! I LOVE writing these kinds of posts and sharing things like this,View Post
You guys are seriously the sweetest! I’m giving each of you a big ole virtual hug around your neck for all the birthday wishes! I’m officially a big girl now, but for all of you readers in your thirties that feel a bit apprehensive about the 4o’s, I can tell you- it’s all good! I feels so much more comfortable in my own skin than I ever have before and I’m so much more aware of what’s important and it’s easier to let the little stuff go. And, with good skincare and exercise and fashion, you can still rock your own personal style at any age!View Post
Have you been following #HappyHealthyYou on Instagram?? I joined two of my good friends (Veronika and Sara) to start a weekly IG chat with y’all pertaining to all things health, beauty, and wellness. We’re excited to talk about these things that I know are important to all of us. I have been amazed at how many of you have chimed in and offered your experiences and suggestions. Y’all are a smart bunch of women and I am so inspired by you!
Every week we also include a little giveaway as a way of saying thank you and as an incentive for you to join in the conversation!View Post

If you’ve been following along here in the last couple of weeks, I hope you’ve noticed my efforts to write worthy content that adds value to your life. I truly appreciate that you take time out of your busy day to be here and I want you to get the most out of it! I love fashion and beauty and girl talk and don’t worry- those posts aren’t going anywhere- we can all use some levity and fun (and good hair!), right?!
But, I also want to dig deeper and share more on how we can live an intentional and vibrant life with ways to set goals and reach them,View Post
Hi friends! How’s your week going?! Pretty good here. Some weeks I feel buried and overwhelmed, but this week has started off on a super productive foot and I’m feeling ambitious about getting lots of stuff done! Even some of those pesky things that have been on the to-do list forever! Which ties in perfectly for today because we’re talking taking care of your body during the holidays.
You’re in for a treat because my handsome hubby is back sharing his secret for how he recently lost weight and then I’ll share my tips for keeping those extra pounds off at the end of the year!View Post
Good Monday morning friends! I’ve heard from so many of you that want to wake up early, or do wake up early in the morning because, realistically, that’s the only time you’re able to fit your workout into your busy day. I hear ya! That’s me too! I’ve found it’s too dark to run outside before the sun comes up, so I’ve been heading to the gym to do group classes. I love them because, at that early hour, I don’t want to think about what to do, I just want someone to tell me! Being in a group class also ensures that you’ll actually finish the workout as opposed to saying halfway through,View Post
Since sharing my early morning routine with you, I’ve heard from so many of you who either: 1) wake up early too and can relate to the sound of the alarm clock going off while it’s still dark outside, or 2) want to wake up earlier, but need a plan to start.View Post
Hi friends! How is your week going? So far so good here. I went for a run outside yesterday and it felt amazing! I used to run several times a week, and now I can’t remember the last time! But, our weather has warmed up and it’s staying lighter out later now, so I can go in the evening after dinner if the sports schedules don’t interfere.
Ever since Jordan’s birthday party, I’ve been slacking on my diet and exercise. I think what happened is I got busy with party planning and all of James’ sports and activities and trying to keep up with blogging and home chores,View Post
Hi friends! How’s your week going? We got home yesterday from our quickie trip to the beach for Spring Break and it was a really good time. James had friends there and swam all day in the pool and Jordan absolutely loved her first time at the beach. She happily played with her bucket and shovel in the sand for hours! It always reminds me that it’s really the simple things in life that are often the best!
You can see a few pics already here and I’ll be sure to share a detailed recap next week.View Post
Now that we made it through the first year of Jordan’s life, there are so many things to look back on in amazement. So many emotions go along with that first year and I think I experienced every one of them. In retrospect, the first 4 months were really hard and even though it’s just a short time, it feels like forever when you’re in the thick of it.
Going on little sleep and breastfeeding all day and night is just plain HARD, no way around it. Over time, the lack of sleep catches up to you.View Post
Today is our Fitness day and not a moment too soon! Yesterday, in a total act of rebellion, I made the most delicious double chocolate chip espresso cookies and ate three! Yikes! But, I’m also eating healthy meals too and am back on the workout train!
This year,View Post
After being in New York, it feels like 100 days ago I started my 40-Day Challenge, trying to kick my booty into shape after baby. Our darling is 7 1/2 months old now (6 month update here) and I definitely feel like ‘myself’ again if that makes sense. I’m happy to report that we CAN still make significant progress in a short time if we stick to our diet and exercise, even after age 40! #thereshopeforus! I’m less excited to report that our progress is finicky. It doesn’t stick if you don’t stick to the program,View Post
Hi guys! I hope y’all are waking up today feeling refreshed and energized from a good ‘ole long weekend! We had a great time in Austin, but three people in one bed, including one wild monkey, did not make for the best sleep. I swear I fear for my life when I sleep with James because he seriously does somersaults in his sleep! Even when you have a great time out of town, it’s always so good to come home to your own bed!
Last Monday, I gave you the low-down on my 6-months post baby body and my new goal of losing some body fat in the next 40 days,View Post
Back to Monday friends! How was your weekend? We had a big one! On Friday afternoon, we had an after school play date and Jordan got her ‘first kiss’! If that isn’t the sweetest thing ever, I don’t know what is! Friday night we celebrated my baby brother’s engagement with all our immediate family (there’s gonna be a March wedding!!!), then a birthday party on Saturday morning for one of the cutest and sassiest 4 year olds I know, and finally a couples’ date night with our wonderful friends (hi Ali-Shaun if you’re reading this!) on Saturday night,View Post
