Weekend Style | Day to Night
Hello friends! I’m so happy to be home after being away for Spring Break and then home for just three days before heading out again! This time, I went to Austin for a blog conference and what I always enjoy most about them is hanging out with my friends that I don’t get to see on a regular basis. So many of my ‘blogger friends’ are actually real-life friends, but we don’t live in the same city, so we’re always communicating via social media and on the phone. It’s the best to get to hang out in person for a change!
The conferences are good for learning things you didn’t know and motivating me to ‘blog better’, but I also get overwhelmed and intimidated! Even after 8 years blogging, there’s still so much I don’t know and so many talented people doing things better than me, but I appreciate you SO MUCH for showing up here! Please know that I always strive to give you my best, most useful content!  The conference was a lot to digest, so today, let’s just talk about something simple and non-complicated: fashion! #sighofrelief #nomoreSEOplease
Weekend Style | Daytime
We talked last week about more workwear opsions (see the first Work Weekend Wow here and the second WWW here) and today I have a casual weekend look and a spiced up date night look for you! Both outfits feature pieces from the Living in Yellow x Gibson collection that has been getting great reviews from you (and me!).
I shared this fun pink top on Stories last week but it wasn’t online yet- but it’s finally available now! It comes in more colors, but I’m partial to this bright pink sprinkled one! It runs big, I sized down one to PXXS.
And if you’re wondering, the pink drink was actually yummy- but not something I’d normally order. It just went with the outfit! #bloglife 😉 The nail color is my go-to lately- such a pretty pale pink!
WEEKEND DAY OUTFIT
I don’t normally run around on the weekend in skirts, but this is no ordinary skirt, it’s like a ‘special skirt’ that is equal parts comfortable and chic! The material feels like a sweatshirt material, so it’s as cozy as your favorite sweats, but not as frumpy!
Skirt • Tee • Wedges • Bag • Necklace • Blue Aviators • Watch • Earrings • Similar Bracelets & here
Skirt Fit: It runs big, so size down. I’m wearing XSP, but probably could have gotten XXSP. It has an elastic drawstring waist that you can tighten.Â
But how cute are the pockets?! Why is everything better with pockets?!
As y’all know, I’m a big neutrals lover, but I’m also crazy for a stripe and this skirt comes in red, navy and navy/white stripe. I love that nautical combo.
And because you often want to be hands free on the weekend, I’ve got crossbody bag goodness. I swear this Sole Society bag looks as expensive as those designer bags, but at a very reasonable price.  It’s faux leather, but doesn’t feel like it and the color is luxe. It also comes in a pretty pink and white- very fresh for Spring.
The inside has pockets and dividers and a leopard print lining.
For a more layered look, you can easily throw on your favorite jean jacket, military jacket, or like I did here, a military vest. I find this piece useful in Houston because it’s an extra layer, but not too hot. The cinched waist is flattering and it’s also out in a new pale olive color called “green dune”.
Military Vest Fit: It fits TTS, I’m wearing XSP.
I like the detail and construction on this vest and how you can pull the waist drawstring in to help give you an hourglass shape.
Although I like wedges for the height + comfort factor, this skirt would also be super cute with your converse sneakers. I’m late to the converse sneaker game, but I figured with Spring upon us and Summer around the corner, I needed an alternative to my black slip on sneaks!  The converse are white and bright and so easy to just slip on and go.
Skirt • Under $20 Tee • Jean Jacket (size up for looser fit) • Necklace • Converse
I had a chance to take my converse for test drive this weekend and loved running around in them! I have a feeling you’ll be seeing much more of this “summer uniform” soon!
Jean Shorts (size down) • Boatneck Top (TTS, XSP) • Converse (TTS) • Similar White Watch
WEEKEND NIGHT OUTFIT
Okay, now wait until you see this little va va voom LBD! It’s also by the LIY x Gibson collection and as soon as I put it on, I was sold! You won’t believe, it’s under $50!
Dress • Leopard Heels • Necklace • Earrings • Clutch
The first thing you’ll notice when you put this dress on is how super soft it is. I’m talking pajama soft. I’ve been hooked on this pair of striped pajamas and this dress feels as comfortable as those, but of course thicker. It’s actually lined with double layers of that soft fabric so it’s extra smooth.
And we all know how I feel about 3/4 sleeves. They are just so classic and chic (think Audrey Hepburn) and I like sleeves that allow your bracelets to show.
Dress Fit: This dress runs big, I sized down 1 to PXXS. It also comes in plus size. It’s got ruching on both sides that flatters your curves and the criss-cross front gives the illusion of longer legs.Â
The solid silhouette of this dress really makes a great backdrop for your long pendant necklace. This one is by Kendra Scott and you’ve got to see her new Spring Collection! First time buyers from her site will get 15% off! I’ve got this pendant necklace is several colors, but look at the NEW colors she just released!! So gorgeous!! I’ll be working with Kendra Scott as a brand ambassador for the next few months #luckygirl #pinchme!! and I can’t wait to show you how the jewelry looks on!
You’ve seen this o-ring foldover clutch here with the bootcut jeans date night outfit, and I’m all about it. I guess I’m having a ‘soft blue’ moment because it’s the same pretty blue ‘selzter’ as my Tory Burch Miller sandals!
Sandals (size up half) • Jeans Shorts (size down 1) • Eyelet Top
I wanted to show you that, although it seems a bit short in the front, it’s really not that short from behind.
I’ve styled this LBD for a date night, but I like the other color options for weekend with sneakers or for work with a jacket. You may want to size up for a more relaxed fit if you were going to wear this dress at work or running around on the weekend. Isn’t Erin darling?! Good for you girl, I love these pieces!
Classic Black Heels • Similar Blazer • Converse
And by the way, what’s your best tip for keeping your converse sneakers bright white?! Mine are brand new, and I want to keep them looking that way!Â
Wishing you a fantastic week ahead!
NICE CHOICES!
Love that dress! Don’t feel bad, I’m late to the converse trend too, I need to order a pair.
I do have a trick for white soles though! Toothpaste and a damp wash cloth, or magic erasers on the sole, works perfectly!
Great styling!
Magic Erasers!!! Those are a staple in our house – that’s perfect!! Thanks Lindsey!
Such cute combos!! I love Erin’s pieces and am so excited for her collaboration!!
Thanks girlie!! Loving putting all these pieces together!!
Dawn Dish Soap (the blue bottle) and a rag works wonders on keeping converse clean. I have found it works even better than a magic eraser!
