She’s playful and curious and smart and just getting cuter by the day! Â Jordan is so loved by all of us! If you’re a new mom, or can’t help but swoon over a sweet baby girl, this is the spot for you. I’m sharing all the real-life pregnancy stages here and lots of baby routines (how do you get them to sleep?!) that will help you make it through that challenging first year with your sweet babe. Â And of course, the celebratory 1st birthday party!
We brought him home when he was just 13 weeks old, and he’s 4 months old now.
MALTIPOO PUPPY UPDATE
WHAT KIND OF DOG IS LUKE?
Luke is an apricot colored Maltipoo (part Maltese/part Poodle). He was just 4 pounds of fluff when we got him, and at his vet visit last week, he weighed 6 pounds!
Hi friend! I hope you had a great weekend and are feeling ready for a new week. Brian and I got back late Sunday night from New York and I can’t wait to share all the trip details with you! We spent two days walking around and sightseeing- I think we walked over 15 miles, and we ate so much yummy food! I took lots of photos and will have a full recap soon!
Today I’m sharing cuteness overload at Walmart with such darling styles for kids! You probably already know and love the Free Assembly line for women,
Hi friends! I missed you yesterday! I spent the weekend in Fort Worth with my girlfriend Trisa and we had such a blast together! We met in college and have been friends for over 20 years. The weather was absolutely glorious and every single person we came in contact with was so genuine and nice.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to Fort Worth before, now I can’t wait to go back!
I recently shared with y’all that I have started dating and y’all have been the absolute sweetest, sending me so many encouraging and joyous messages.
Hi friends! Welcome back to my blog! I hope your week is going really well! It’s been busy, busy here! Fun too though!Â
For the last couple months one of the biggest questions around here was, will the kids go back to school? Is it safe for them to go? If they go what will it look like? Will we be doing distance-learning again? It’s been really stressful with all of those questions swirling around and so much uncertainty.
I know y’all are feeling it too. I’ve chatted with many of you across the country and the back to school plans are all over the place.
Hi friends! How’s your week going? Thursday is typically my busiest day of the week, trying to get all.the.things done for Friday, but today has excitement in the air! A few of my close “mom friends” and I are celebrating Jamie’s birthday at her cabin this weekend. We’ve been apart for so long and the last several birthdays we’ve celebrated have been either zoom calls or drive-by parades. I’m so looking forward to this girl time! I know we all need it!
I’m sure we’ll talk kids and school and how crazy these last five months have been for us.Â
Hi friends! How’s your week going? We are still waiting to see if/when school will start in the Fall, but our fingers are crossed for a safe return. The other day, I asked my 10 year-old son James if he wanted me to homeschool him this year and his eyes about fell out of his head. I guess he would rather go to regular school!
Jordan LOVED getting to see her friends and teacher everyday when she was in preschool and not being able to play with her friends or go to the playground has been the hardest part of these last few months for her.
Hello friends! How was your weekend? Ours was good. Slow, but good. I got lots of cleaning and laundry done, made another chocolate chip banana bread, had a big spaghetti dinner on Sunday, and just chilled in the backyard. I’m so very thankful for my home, especially now that we are here 24/7.
Over the years, we’ve gotten many of the rooms to a place we are really happy with. You can see everything in my Decor tab, but Jordan’s playroom, my bedroom and James’ room are places we’ve recently spruced up.
Okay friends, seems like we better get used to this new way of living for the foreseeable future. Like you, I’m still absorbing the shock of this and trying to wrap my head around it all. It seems every hour there is more scary news and more to be concerned about. It’s uncharted territory with everything closing down and all of us quarantining inside our homes and social distancing when we need to go out.
And the really wild thing is that IT’S HAPPENING TO THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. No one is immune. It’s not like a flood in Houston or a hurricane overseas.

How’s your summer going friends? I can’t believe we’re already to the end of June! It feels like summer is going so fast! I am sleeping in about an hour later than usual, but I still have a little morning time to myself before the house wakes up. James has been in camp for the last three weeks, but we’ve already managed to pack so much fun into this summer.
For some of us, it can be hard to find things for the kids to do all day without resorting to mind-numbing video games,

Yay for the weekend friends! I’m so thankful we started the 20 Minute Move Challenge this week. If you missed it, I created a new (free) printable without the dates in the first column so you can use it whenever you want. These last 5 days have already been challenging to get the 20 minutes in, but it’s also the best I’ve felt in a while. I appreciate you so much for keeping me accountable. I’m sharing every day on Stories,
When I was pregnant with Jordan, her due date was three days from James’ birthday. I spent a good part of my third trimester wondering how we’d manage James’ 6th birthday if I went into labor at that time or on the day of his party. Turns out, I didn’t need to worry because she was ready to enter the world 2 1/2 weeks early, just two days before my birthday! I never even imagined that! It’s still crazy (in the best way) that I’m 43 (today!!) with a two year old! I’m always hoping these kiddos are keeping me young instead of aging me faster!
How was your weekend, friends? Another one gone so quickly that I feel like I barely blinked and then it’s Monday again! Â How is it that some days and months seem to fly by and then some hours seem to drag on for an eternity? Like the hour before dad gets home from work?!
This summer has been like that. Â Just when we’re really rolling along with our lazy days of sleeping in and staying up too late, our summer break is winding down with just two weeks to go.
I was mildly concerned about how this summer was gonna go with James and Jordan at home and no camps or trips or anything really on the agenda. Â
We were a family of three for a long time, 6 years to be exact, before our beautiful blessing of a daughter, Jordan, arrived. Â I’ve gotten so many questions about how it’s been going from one child to two, what the age difference is like, and how we make family time a priority in our lives. Â I’ve not been shy about admitting that I felt like most of the baby responsibility was falling on my shoulders early on. Â You might remember my hubby halfway joking, “I really hit my stride around age 2!”
As a second time mom, and one that is over 40, I’m more aware of how quickly it all goes and want to soak in all the goodness of my babes in every stage. Â I’ve already learned that it just gets better and better, so I’m not all, “I wish they could stay babies forever!” but I do love all those sweet baby things so much! Â Doing things like a mother/daughter photo shoot when Jordan turned one was one of those things that might seem silly or frivolous or something hard to fit into an already busy day, around the nap schedule,
Hi guys!  How was your Monday?  I was a mess, totally exhausted from our girls’ trip that had me dancing and eating Taco Bueno until the wee hours of the morning.  Those kinds of weekends are few and far between so you gotta live it up when the opportunity strikes.  Then come home and die of exhaustion! Like when you need a vacation from your vacation.  #firstworldproblemsIknowI’m better today, and super excited to share all the details from Jordan’s first birthday party. Ever since the party, I’ve been wanting to share with you how I planned our garden soiree and how it all came together. Â
Welcome to a new week, friends! Â I was MIA yesterday, buried under piles of stuff everywhere! If you follow me on InstaStories, you’ve seen that our house has been turned upside down while we had my closet repainted as well as the paint on most of our first floor, up the stairs, and hallway (including the doors) redone. Â It turned out beautiful, but the house was a disaster in the meantime because I had to pull everything out of my closet and drawers, and it’s been piled into the master bedroom sitting room. Good luck finding clothes to wear lately!
Every time I start to share a baby update with you, I’m amazed at how quickly it goes! Yes, time went by quickly with our son too, but it feels like everything with Jordan is happening even faster! She became mobile very quickly and started walking at 9 months!
Now that her 1st birthday is coming up this weekend, I plan to do a one-year baby recap soon, but today, I’m excited to finally share a post many of you have been asking me about for a long time- how we started Jordan on solid foods and how to make them at home.
