When I was pregnant with Jordan, her due date was three days from James’ birthday. I spent a good part of my third trimester wondering how we’d manage James’ 6th birthday if I went into labor at that time or on the day of his party. Turns out, I didn’t need to worry because she was ready to enter the world 2 1/2 weeks early, just two days before my birthday! I never even imagined that! It’s still crazy (in the best way) that I’m 43 (today!!) with a two year old! I’m always hoping these kiddos are keeping me young instead of aging me faster!View Post
She’s playful and curious and smart and just getting cuter by the day! Jordan is so loved by all of us! If you’re a new mom, or can’t help but swoon over a sweet baby girl, this is the spot for you. I’m sharing all the real-life pregnancy stages here and lots of baby routines (how do you get them to sleep?!) that will help you make it through that challenging first year with your sweet babe. And of course, the celebratory 1st birthday party!
How was your weekend, friends? Another one gone so quickly that I feel like I barely blinked and then it’s Monday again! How is it that some days and months seem to fly by and then some hours seem to drag on for an eternity? Like the hour before dad gets home from work?!
This summer has been like that. Just when we’re really rolling along with our lazy days of sleeping in and staying up too late, our summer break is winding down with just two weeks to go.
I was mildly concerned about how this summer was gonna go with James and Jordan at home and no camps or trips or anything really on the agenda.View Post

We were a family of three for a long time, 6 years to be exact, before our beautiful blessing of a daughter, Jordan, arrived. I’ve gotten so many questions about how it’s been going from one child to two, what the age difference is like, and how we make family time a priority in our lives. I’ve not been shy about admitting that I felt like most of the baby responsibility was falling on my shoulders early on. You might remember my hubby halfway joking, “I really hit my stride around age 2!”View Post
As a second time mom, and one that is over 40, I’m more aware of how quickly it all goes and want to soak in all the goodness of my babes in every stage. I’ve already learned that it just gets better and better, so I’m not all, “I wish they could stay babies forever!” but I do love all those sweet baby things so much! Doing things like a mother/daughter photo shoot when Jordan turned one was one of those things that might seem silly or frivolous or something hard to fit into an already busy day, around the nap schedule,View Post
Hi guys! How was your Monday? I was a mess, totally exhausted from our girls’ trip that had me dancing and eating Taco Bueno until the wee hours of the morning. Those kinds of weekends are few and far between so you gotta live it up when the opportunity strikes. Then come home and die of exhaustion! Like when you need a vacation from your vacation. #firstworldproblemsIknowI’m better today, and super excited to share all the details from Jordan’s first birthday party. Ever since the party, I’ve been wanting to share with you how I planned our garden soiree and how it all came together.View Post
Welcome to a new week, friends! I was MIA yesterday, buried under piles of stuff everywhere! If you follow me on InstaStories, you’ve seen that our house has been turned upside down while we had my closet repainted as well as the paint on most of our first floor, up the stairs, and hallway (including the doors) redone. It turned out beautiful, but the house was a disaster in the meantime because I had to pull everything out of my closet and drawers, and it’s been piled into the master bedroom sitting room. Good luck finding clothes to wear lately!View Post
Every time I start to share a baby update with you, I’m amazed at how quickly it goes! Yes, time went by quickly with our son too, but it feels like everything with Jordan is happening even faster! She became mobile very quickly and started walking at 9 months!
Now that her 1st birthday is coming up this weekend, I plan to do a one-year baby recap soon, but today, I’m excited to finally share a post many of you have been asking me about for a long time- how we started Jordan on solid foods and how to make them at home.View Post
We’re continuing our 2016 wrap up- get caught up on Fashion Faves here, Home Decor & Organization here and today is all about baby and family! We were incredibly blessed last year to welcome baby Jordan into our lives and hearts. She was born in February, two and a half weeks early, and just two days before my own birthday. In the almost-year that she’s been with us, we’ve fallen madly in love and she brings so much joy to our home.
I shared my pregnancy journey with you and I so appreciate all the support you’ve shown during this time of transition in my life.View Post
Every time I start to share a baby update with you, I’m amazed at how quickly it goes! Yes, time goes by quickly with our 6 year-old son too, but it feels like everything with Jordan is happening even faster! She’s gotten mobile very quickly and is already on her way to walking! I hear about these babies walking at 9 months, but I’m not sure we’ll be there that fast. My husband bets it’ll be by Christmas. We’ll see!
Today, I’m sharing all about the 8 month progress, and to keep this post from becoming a novel, I’ll share how I transitioned Jordan from breastmilk to formula and started her on solid foods in another post.View Post
Can y’all believe Jordan is six months old already?! And she just turned 7 months old yesterday! Since our son is 6 years old, it’s obviously been awhile since we’ve had a baby in the house and little Jordan is making me vividly remember those early days with James. This is where it really gets fun though, right?! She’s just the cutest thing! I can put the top of her hair in a teeny bow now and it keeps it out of her face. So adorable!!
But this girl is already on the go and so much so that I can’t keep my eyes off of her.View Post
I just looked up at realized we’re already more than halfway past this year! What a year it’s been so far! Obviously, the biggest and best change around here is the addition of our bundle of joy, Ms. Jordan Nicole. She’s already 5 months old and just growing by the day! I love how interactive she is and what a sweet ball of mushiness her little body feels like. She smiles often and her hair is a hot mess all the time. 😉 She was born with a full head of dark hair, but rubbed the sides and back off and was left with only a giant tuft on top.View Post
About three weeks ago, we began to transition Jordan from my bed to her crib and it went so well that I waited to write about it to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t without any crying, which would probably be a miracle, but it was so much less painful than I anticipated! It took about one week to get her sleeping through the night in her crib and I couldn’t have been more surprised.
This is a lengthy post,View Post
If you’ve been following my blog for long, you know I’m all about organization, schedules, and routines. It’s just the way I’m wired and my Mom tells me I’ve been that way since I was a toddler, organizing all my toys and books from an early age. I haven’t purposefully tried to put our newborn, Jordan, on a schedule but since she’s been born, I’ve tracked her feedings and sleep times on this tracker, and after a couple months, recognized her pattern. I’m glad I did because having some expectation of when she’ll be napping and eating helps me know when I can eat or get some things done during the day!View Post
Remember when I told you a few weeks ago that I was wishing my husband would be more involved with the baby? Well, I’ve just been handing her off more lately, . . . here you go! 🙂 I’ve captured some snaps of when he is holding her and there’s probably nothing sweeter than a little baby girl and her Daddy!
I think I’m also way less resentful that he’s getting to enjoy all the fun stuff with James and I’m just on baby duty because now James is home with me for the summer and we’ve been having such a good time together that it’s taken the edge off.View Post
Is your week going well? I had to take a breather earlier this week since Sunday we hosted my sis-n-law’s baby shower here and those parties are so fun, but also take a lot of time and energy. We are so excited to welcome another baby into our family, I can’t wait!! I was up late on Sunday night cleaning and getting the house put back together so I could start the week fresh. So, house is all clean, the laundry finally got folded and put away and now we can focus on this, the last week of school!View Post
Waking up this Monday morning feeling like it was Friday only yesterday! Can you relate?! Weekends are pretty busy with trying to fit in all the things we didn’t get to during the week, and adding in a birthday party and sports game to the mix. No rest for the weary and today I’m sharing what life has been like since Jordan’s been born.
We’ve definitely had to adjust our routine to accommodate the stress delight of having two kids, but of course it’s so worth it. We got real comfortable with just one 6-year old who’s pretty self-sufficient and having a newborn hit pretty hard.View Post
Going through the family photos of Jordan Nicole’s birth brings back the flood of emotions like it was yesterday. Granted, it’s only been a month, but already our lives have changed so much. I’ve never shared such intimate moments before, but y’all have been so supportive and encouraging throughout this pregnancy that I wanted to invite you in.
In the last trimester of my pregnancy, I started worrying about what labor would be like and how I would know it had started, the pain factor, etc. I’d been having tons of braxton hicks contractions and was induced with our son,View Post
Happy Monday and happy Spring Break! I have to admit I’m a little nervous about being home alone with two kids, but our 6-year old is pretty self-sufficient and even though he probably plays too much on the iPad and video games, I’ll take it right now. #reallife As you with newborns know, my days currently revolve around those at-least-every-three-hour feedings, but thank God, she’s a good eater and breastfeeding is going well. I am going kind of stir crazy being home so much and I miss being able to get out more. It’s not all sunshiney feelings, there’s lots of hormonal emotions I experience that range from joy,View Post
