Hi friend! Welcome to a fresh, new week! Today, my nephew is coming over to hang with us and I’m thinking we’ll go to the pool and have a poolside lunch.
And this is the week our family goes to Galveston for our last summer getaway. We’re so looking forward to it!
AUGUST LOVES GIVEAWAY
As a THANK YOU for reading and subscribing to my blog, I’m giving away EVERYTHING in my August Loves to one of my subscribers!
If you’re not subscribed, you can sign up here, and I will pick a winner at random and announce at the end of the month.
*If you win, I always give you the option of all of the items OR the cash value! Most people choose the cash value and I send them money via Venmo!
If you’re new to Loves, it’s where I share things I’m loving each month, with the aim to highlight fabulous things I swear by, some things I want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds! All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month!
I love sourcing goodies and sharing them with you!
I’m so impressed with how lifelike these magnolia stems look and feel. They come in a set of 3 and they’re long enough for a tall vase. You can also bend them to shape them how you like.
I popped them in this jug vase from Pottery Barn and love how they look there. The jug has a narrow mouth, so the stems fit perfectly inside.
I use my pretty air fryer almost daily and it’s still going strong after a year and a half. It’s so easy to use with a touch screen and you can air fry, roast and reheat in it. We use if for burgers, chicken wings & drums, veggies, chicken nuggets, fries, tater tots and more.
In the Fall and Winter, I like to go darker with my nail polish and this color is my go-to. It’s a dark brown with a hint of purple, very pretty!
If you’ve never owned a pair of Ugg slippers, you will love them! This particular pair is my favorite because they’re so cozy and plush, and the sole is appropriate for indoors and outdoors.

WHAT ELSE I’M ENJOYING THIS MONTH
Plants – I’ve become a plant lady since returning from San Miguel. I’ve added 8? plants to my home in the last couple of months and I plan to give you a full update in a blog post soon. I’ve used the app Picture This to help identify and care for my plants.
Lifting Weights – After a month of walking with very little weight training, I’m happy to be back in the gym working on my strength. I love the way lifting weights makes me feel and how it shapes my body. I’m usually in and out of the gym in 45 minutes.
If you don’t have access to a gym, or prefer to workout at home, YouTube has some great videos you can follow along with. I like these workouts.
Decorating – It takes awhile to live in your space and let it “speak” to you when decorating. We moved into our house in March 2022 and it definitely feels like home now. Maybe it’s the back to school change of seasons, but I’ve been in the mood to decorate lately.
I also found a few art pieces – one for over my bed and a fun one for the laundry room. I’ll show you everything soon!
Short Hair – You’ve probably already heard my talking about this, but I’m so happy with my short haircut. I timed myself drying it the other day and it literally took 5 minutes. And I like how it looks straight, so I haven’t been taking the extra time to curl it. Sometimes, I’ll take a minute to smooth it out with some volume with my big curling iron, but that takes no time.
I used to kinda dread hair washing day (every few days) because of the time it took to dry and style my hair. Now, it’s just no big deal.
I feel freer to swim, workout and get sweaty because I know that if I have to wash my hair, it can be styled again in no time.
In the past, I always associated long hair with sexiness and didn’t think I’d feel pretty with really short hair. It sounds silly to say, but I feel liberated with this short cut.
And I’m in a relationship where I feel like loved and supported with any kind of hairstyle. That feels so good!
Now let’s go kick Monday’s booty!
