My Size Reference: I’m short (5’1) and I typically wear size 0P/25 jeans, XSP/XS in tops and dresses.
Ali-Shaun Size Reference: She’s taller (5’4), and usually wears a size 8-10 in jeans, and Medium/Medium Petite or size 8 in tops and dresses.

We both found hats we liked. I was drawn to this woven packable style that can be worn now and later. Ali-Shaun got the perfect Fall/Winter felt hat and I love the light color on her.
Ali-Shaun has this style New Balance sneaker and she said they were amazing. She said she would have bought this cool color if she didn’t already have a pair.
We were oohing and ahhing over these stone bracelets. I love the pink, Ali-Shaun preferred the green.
These are so colorful and vibrant for Summer and you get a set of 5! There’s also a pretty pale pink/tan color.
Ali-Shaun was a big fan of these stone bracelets – totally her style.
These jewelry box cases were so cute in all the fun patterns! Would make a great Favorite Things gift! Ali-Shaun bought these cases for her Favorite Thing this year – shhhh!!
And these jewelry trays are too cute too!
These quilted crossbody bags close with a chunky chain lock. I ended up getting the Rebecca Minkoff satchel because it will be a better everyday bag – it’s gorgeous!!
Of course, Ali-Shaun was drawn to the green hard case luggage.

We both looked at basics like the Caslon short and long sleeve tees. The v-neck short sleeve style has a modern vibe with the raw edge hem and pocket front.
We both bought these Mother jeans. Although they’re mid rise and I’m more used to high rise, they were very comfortable on and the wash is a pretty light blue. They have a raw hem, so we both need to trim ours a bit.

We had to try on the flannel tops and these felt good on with a lightweight material. These are great for layering in the Fall and Winter. You can tie it, tuck it or wear it undone.

Of course we had to try on the cardigans. This is such a perfect transition to Fall item. It’s a lightweight stretchy knit with pockets and hit us at the knee. This cardigan also looks great dress up for work.

There are some fun tops in the NSale like this ribbed knit with lacey sleeves. I could see wearing this on a girls night or date night.
The jeans are by Pistola and so ultra comfy with a lot of stretch. They’re supposed to be crop, but hit me at the ankle.

This is the long sleeve Caslon tee, a burnout style – so you’ll want to wear flesh toned undergarments with the white one.

These Mother jeans looked FANTASTIC on Ali-Shaun! They’re a high waist flare leg with a frayed hem, which also makes them easy to trim if you need to. With a pointy toe boot or heel, you’ll have legs for days.
Ali-Shaun LOVES a shrug and found several to take home with her. This one has a chic and sporty look to it with the hoodie and pockets. She didn’t end up buying this one (although she loved it) because it looked too big on her.

This sweater is perfectly cropped and you can do a front tuck with a high waist jean. These are the Pistola again, with the hem cuffed.

This blazer was on Ali-Shaun’s wishlist and she really liked it in person. She said she felt very polished and chic in it.

I really liked this stretchy knit v-neck top with contrasting silky v-neck and collar. It fits TTS, so order your true size.

I realized later that this floral peplum top wasn’t in the NSale, but so cute and perfect for wearing right now. It has a satin feel with cap sleeve and three petite buttons. You can get it in solid navy if you prefer.

I also tried on the Mother flare and ended up getting them too. Of course, I’ll need a trim at the bottom, but all you have to do is take a sharp pair of scissors and cut a straight line. Then, take the scissors and rough up the hem. Throw them in the washing machine and you’ll be good to go!

Ali-Shaun felt like a million bucks in these AG Mari jeans. The dark wash looks dressier and is also so slimming without any wiskering, rips or distressing.
The blouse also went home with her and she’ll be able to wear this to both work and church. The longer cuffs are a modern touch to an otherwise staple silky button down blouse. The color is gorgeous in person too.

I’m a fan of Paige jeans and tried on the crop flare, which a fun departure from straight and skinny leg jeans. I’d definitely wear them with a heel or wedge for added height.
I bought this pullover because it was oh so cozy and I enjoy wearing pullovers in and out of the house.

This pale blue color is beautiful. It’s a stretchy ribbed knit with a mock neck and I didn’t realize until I looked online – it’s 100% cashmere.

A perfect ‘everyday’ open cardigan for Fall. It’s a great basic and I bought it in the cream color. It’s got me wishing for cooler days ahead!

This is one of Ali-Shaun’s favorite pieces. She went on and on about how much she loves it because it’s like wearing a little scarf with sleeves. She got the tan one last year. Once I tried it on, I could see the appeal, and I got the tan one too. 😉

Oh YES! My favorite Paige Cindy jeans in a dark grey wash! Yes, please! Now I have these in light blue (which I wore to the store), white and this pair. They feel so good on with a high waist and raw edge hem. I ended up cutting my other two pair and will likely cut these too.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE DRESSES
This ruched front top can be styled so many ways – with jeans or slacks, or like here with a skirt. The pencil skirt is made of a stretchy knit and has a back slit so it’s easy to move and walk in. The seaming in the front makes it extra flattering.

This dress is silky goodness and the pleating is such a nice detail. It comes in more colors (but the rust is Fall ready) and you could also pair a belt with it.

I was a fan of this dress, but Ali-Shaun not so much. In reality, she said she’d like it better if she had a spray tan. It zips up the back and the shorter skirt is balanced by the high neckline. It would be cool or a Fall or Winter party.

This wrap sweater dress is so easy to wear and very figure flattering. It ties at the waist in a fit and flare style with a v-neck. It also comes in black in navy.

This is one of our favorite departments! Ali-Shaun lives at the ballfields on weeknights and weekends and y’all know I workout nearly everyday!
These joggers are so good!! Very soft and comfy with a high waist and pockets and a medium weight. I thought the seamed long sleeve top with thumbholes was cute too.
Ali-Shaun is a huge fan of Alo leggings and this spicy pair was fantastic on her! She also loved the look and feel of the sweatshirt that tied at the sides.

We know Al-Shaun loves a shawl and this one is the ‘air essentials cocoon cardigan’ by Spanx. It’s made of a supersoft lightweight scuba material and has a curved hem shape. If you run into Ali-Shaun at the ballpark this Fall, I bet you’ll find her wearing this exact outfit!

I really liked this new ‘purple iris’ color in the Zella leggings. They have side pockets and a back zip pocket. The tank has a shelf bra and “V” in the front and back.

Ooh, the Zella shorts are really cute in this color too with the matching activewear top. The shorts are fully lined and have side slits. The top is moisture wicking and comes in more colors.

Y’all! I loved this shorts romper! I’m always a fan of rompers, but this one is EXTRA because of the super soft material and the sporty look! I like the way the top blouses over and the tank is a bra-friendly v-neck.

Ali-Shaun and Rhonda both raved about this Ugg blanket and I got the tan one for my living room. Jordan and I have already cuddled up in it! So plush and cozy and perfect for Christmas gifts!
Barefoot Dreams has new styles in their popular blanket and everyone loves them. If you don’t want to spend the money though, I think the Amazon version is nearly just as good! And so much less expensive!

What a day! And a special shout out to Miranda who started interning with me when she was just 18 years old. She’s 23 now and has graduated from collage. I’m so very proud of her!
And Kianna is the former Nordstrom associate who helped us so much during our time at the store. She is the sweetest and really knows her inventory!
After we shopped, we went to eat in the Nordstrom cafe and it was so good to sit down after hours of trying on outfits. I walked nearly 9,000 steps at Nordstrom! That’s one way to get your steps in! I’m on Day 17/30 now!

This is my favorite post of the year. Obviously I love the clothes- but it is the peek at your friendship with Ali Shaun. You look like you are having so much fun- we should all be so lucky to have a friendship like that!
The Mother jeans are the biggest splurge for me- I’ve never bought denim at that price point!!- but Ali Shaun looks so good in them I’m crossing my fingers I love them too. Thank you for all of the effort you put into this post!

Great post. Bummed so much is sold out. Question? That bracelet Ali Shaun is wearing with fabric that is pink with blue stone (looks stretchy ) I absolutely love but there is no mention where she got it. It may not be from Nordstrom but can you share where it’s from? Thank you.
