Hello friends! We’re almost to the weekend! Woo hoo! I thought summer would feel like we’re slowing down, but it hasn’t been that way around here yet! We’ve been catching up on little projects and things like getting dental visits out of the way! I asked James if he wanted to go to the pool yesterday afternoon and he said no! Huh??!! When I was a kid, I lived at the pool all summer! I never thought I might have to bribe a kid to go swimming!
If you’re doing the #HWHFitnessChallenge with 1,500 of us!!! (and even if you’re not), be sure to subscribe to my weekend newsletter which will have a my new MEAL PLAN for next week! It will come directly to your email bright and early Saturday morning so you can make your grocery list and prepare for the week.
If you have questions about the #HWHFitnessChallenge , please leave them in the comments below so I can answer and also address some common themes in next Monday’s fitness post!
Today, I’m focusing on one.perfect.Summer dress. When you find one that takes you from hanging with the kids, to brunch with the girls, to date night with your man, you know it’s good.
ONE PERFECT SUMMER MINIDRESS
This one checks all the boxes- comfortable, cute, flattering fit, and under $100! I’ve seen it on women of all shapes and sizes and it’s adorable on every one of them – even pregnant mamas!
FIT : TTS, I’m 5’1, 110 pounds and wearing size XS. It hits me a few inches above the knee and the smocked part doesn’t feel tight on my chest.
I’ve read the reviews on the dress and here are what sizes other ladies ordered:
- 5’4, XS felt too short, kept the Small
- 47, 5’7, 135 lbs, curvy – Medium fit well
- 5’8, Medium – didn’t think it was too short
- Pregnant – sized up from XS to Small, noted the button front is nursing-friendly
- Size not mentioned, but wears shorts with it for her comfort level
I love the breezy style of this mini dress that flows away from your body in the skirt. The smocked bodice helps give the dress some definition and the cap style sleeves are just cute! And how about that print? The orange is a spicy shade and it also comes in black and peach (just ordered the peach!). The black one is taunting me now. I think it’s jealous.
You could pull from the aquas, yellow or whites in this dress to help accessorize. I had these fun Kendra Scott earrings to bring out the turquoise.
I’m also a fan of layering jewelry and delicate necklaces- so I have the 5-strand necklace paired with the pendant tassel necklace.
If you don’t have the curved wooden bag yet, it’s become a summer staple in my wardrobe because it looks so good with all your Summer outfits. Everytime I wear it, I get tons of questions and comments on it.
I have the small version from Amazon because it’s so much less expensive than the designer bag. And the quality is still good! Mine fits my wallet, phone, keys and a few lipsticks comfortably.
This post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning my favorite Summer straw hat. Not only is it incredibly chic and stylish, it comes in different sizes so you get a perfect fit and it’s a great price.
I took this hat on our Memorial Weekend to Lost Pines and wore it all weekend with shorts, dresses and even my swimsuit at the pool! It’s functional for shielding your face from the sun, hiding a bad hair day, and also looks cute on!
The wide, black grosgrain ribbon is the perfect finishing touch.
Which color do you like best in this dress? Y’all have a great day!
