Did y’all have a great, long weekend? We sure did! We got our much-needed fill of sun and sand and pool time (my fave!) and it’s always nice to get away even for a few days. I’ll do a full recap soon, but in the meantime, here are a few sneak peeks! If only the weekend could’ve lasted all week!
The grounds at Lost Pines are gorgeous and very well maintained. I arrived in this adorable shorts romper and you won’t believe the price!
Tried to snap a pic of the kids when we got there . . .
Then headed straight for the piña coladas!
And lots of building sand castles with this one – it’s her favorite thing.
Such a sweet face. I really do love age 2, despite how exhausting it can be.
Donned a one-shoulder bikini, which reminds me, would y’all want to do a 30-day fitness challenge with me? I asked on Stories and 91% said yes. I’m still figuring out what it would look like, but let me know!
Cutest coverup with little ruffles at the sides.
And loved my time with this sweet boy. Still not too old to take a picture with mama.
Hi Sugarplum x Gibson
Today my gorgeous and talented friend Cassie‘s collaboration with Gibson clothing line launches at Nordstrom! It’s not everyday I get to say that! Watching the collection come to life behind the scenes has been really exciting and I’ve been cheering her on from the sidelines, knowing that it was gonna be fantastic.
Cassie and I met 8 years ago when we both started blogging as newbies. We started off just commenting on each other’s blogs and then starting chatting on the phone and before you know it, had our first ‘blind date.’ Back then, we really didn’t know what we were getting into with blogging- we just knew we loved doing it and sharing it with y’all.
Since that time, our kids have grown up, I’ve had another baby!, we’ve traveled to many destinations together and shared a bed more times than I can count! Our friendship has only grown tighter over the years, and I’m so very proud of Cassie and the opportunities that have come her way as a result of pouring so much heart and energy into her blog the last eight years.
The Hi Sugarplum x Gibson collection features 13 happy and playful pieces to add to your Summer wardrobe. If you know Cassie, you know she’s all about bright colors and fun patterns and puts them together like no other. I was lucky to get a chance to sample five pieces early and couldn’t wait to show you! I’m so thrilled that I absolutely love all of the pieces so I can genuinely get behind it in support of my girl!
And I love that all of the pieces are budget friendly. Most are under $50, but nothing is over $70.
TIKI TASSEL EARRINGS 50% OFF
Aaand . . . I have more good news for you today! Remember when those fun pom pom scarves were only $8?! Well, my code is still good HONEYPOMPARTY and now, Accessory Concierge is offering HWH readers a cheerful accessory to accompany them!
These fun, colorful tassel earrings are on sale 50% off with code HONEYTIKI !! They are normally $32, but with my code, you’ll be able to get them for just $16! And you can buy more than one! I’m super excited about these earrings because they come in a rainbow of colors, are so LIGHTWEIGHT that you can wear them all day and barely feel them, and they are the perfect length.
With the end of the school year approaching, I’m sure you know a deserving teacher who would love a pair. Or stock up for birthdays or Christmas gifts. I now keep a ‘gift closet’ in my office so that I’m never scrambling at the last minute or during the holidays. #smartypants
Hi Sugarplum x Gibson OUTFITS with TASSEL EARRINGS
I wanted to showcase these earrings for you, so I styled all of the Hi Sugarplum x Gibson outfits with them so you can see how versatile they are and how well they go with everything!
SIZING/FIT NOTE: All of the pieces come in a wide range of sizes (from petite to plus). Everything I tried was XS, as Petites weren’t available for early release. The XS were a tad big on me, so for a better fit, I’d go with my usual XSP (I’m 5’1, 110). Therefore, I’d say all the pieces fit TTS.
Let’s start with one of Cassie’s favorite pieces in the collection- this adorable racerback, ruffled sleeve top! It’s a very soft material and the bright pink really pops! I loved the casual fit and racerback style back. This is my fave racerback bra if you need one.
First, I styled it with jeans for a date night or girls night out with the pink “Megan” necklace and the grey Tiki Tassel earrings.
For another fun night or maybe a weekend lunch, you can wear the ruffled top with the black shorts and Everyday Wedges, switching out the grey earrings for the black.
You can see below that the top looks good 1) fully tucked in; 2) with a mini front tuck; or 3) tied in a knot on the side. That third way is one of my faves!
Which brings me to the next pieces, this stretchy skirt. It might look black and white in the photo, but it’s actually navy/white. The skirt feels pajama soft on and can be worn long and high waisted, or folded down and made more mini-skirt style. I really like this color combo with the pink top- very summer fun and happy!
Below you can see how I wore the skirt longer (pencil skirt style) and shorter (mini skirt style).
And don’t you like the pink Tiki Tassel Earrings with this one?!
I was drawn to the style and pattern in this tank and how versatile it is. With a camisole like this, you can wear it with everything from jeans to short to slacks and skirts. It’s a lightweight material with a gorgeous drape and tie front. I’m wearing XS, so you can see it’s a bit big, but I bet the petite would be perfect!
You’ll always find me in jean shorts and a tee on most summer days, so I like it when a t-shirt has a little something extra to make it feel more special. This tee has that with the subtle tie sleeves and also the blue/light blue color combo. It’s soft and feels great on too.
Of course, I had to try it with my favorite jean shorts since that’s my Summer Uniform.
And don’t you love the blue and orange sandal combo?!
But it also works perfectly with white jeans, even though it’s not blue and white. And I wanted to show you how it looks untucked below . . .
And then with a front tuck. The front tuck gives you a longer leg line, but I actually like it both ways.
The blue Tiki Tassel Earrings goes great with this outfit.
This romper might be my favorite thing I tried on! It’s so lightweight and comfortable, just perfect for our hot, humid Houston summer days. The top buttons and it has a drawstring waist so you can blouse the top, which is especially flattering. I got the basic black because you can’t go wrong with solid black for several occasions, but it comes in lots of colors and the blue patterned one is really fun.
And then for a casual weekend look, you can throw on your straw hat (the gold Tiki Tassel Earrings look especially good with it) and the Everyday Wedges or flat sandals for running around!
I’m off to order more pieces in petites (especially this romper in the blue print!), so I’ll report back and let you know how the sizing is. The collection is only available online, so go fill your cart before pieces run out!
What do y’all think of this new collaboration?! Do you have a favorite piece? Which color earrings are your fave?
And make sure to come back tomorrow! My handsome hubby is helping us out with some gift ideas for Father’s Day!
