Hi friend! I hope you’re having a great week! It’s definitely heating up here in Houston and pool days or AC are the only ways to stay cool!
I chopped several inches off of my hair and I’m really liking it! I’ve been walking/jogging in the mornings outside and it’s just too hot for long hair – or at least that’s how I feel. My new cut is a layered bob hitting right at my shoulders. It feels light and fresh, just what I was going for! I’m excited to hear what you think!
4th of July Outfits
4th of July is approaching and it’s a special day to celebrate with family and friends.
When it comes to 4th of July outfits, you can’t go wrong with the classic red, white and blue color combo. A timeless option is to pair a navy blue maxi dress with a white jean jacket and accessorize with a bold red bag or shoes.
If you’re attending a backyard BBQ or relaxed gathering, white jean shorts and a blue top and red accessories is an easy way to bring in that patriotic flair.
Jean shorts with a white or red top is always a great option and you can even wear a jean skirt. I really like this one from Walmart. It’s perfectly relaxed in a pale blue with raw edge hem and only $28.
You can also pair jean shorts with a graphic tee. A relaxed chambray top is always a good idea and it looks especially good with white jeans.

I found this patriotic navy sweater with white stars at Loft. It’s a lightweight, textured knit that pairs perfectly with white jeans or white jean shorts.
The jeans are my fave by NYDJ. They have a comfortable high waist, crop length and little side slit at the ankle.

As for my haircut, here’s a good front picture so you can see the new shorter length. My stylist layered in longer bangs, which I think really suits my oval face.
It’s funny, my daughter told me the other day, “You have an oval face. I have a circle face.” So cute!
Mostly, I’m just so happy with how easy it is to wash, dry and style! I even like it worn straight. I do still have my extensions in for volume, they’re just really short now.

These white jean shorts are from Amazon and they feel so soft on. They have a lot of distressing, but it doesn’t show through to the leg. Over 22,000 positive reviews.
The top is a mixed media style with a crisp cotton ruffled front and soft ribbed knit body. It would work for the office with pants or a skirt.

I LOVE your haircut!! I’m in Florida and it’s hot and my hair has grown out and has no shape so you have inspired me to cut it. You did long layers? My face is also oval and my bangs have grown out making my face look drawn down. How do you curl your hair? I can never get my curls ti last. My hair is fine!
