And now the countdown is on to Thanksgiving! We’re hosting a luncheon for our deserving teachers today and I’ll be volunteering in James’ 2nd grade classroom while the teachers take a load off and enjoy some good food. I’m happy to do it and the kids are so good, so I’m sure I’ll survive! I really give huge props to all the teachers out there. They do so much for our kids and I know they don’t always get the credit they deserve. Then, James is off school for a week!!! so I’m thinking we’ll get on with our Christmas decorating and go to the zoo- I don’t think Jordan has ever been! It will be so nice to have him home!!
Today, is a big Outfits Lately post full of things for Fall and complete outfits to give you some wardrobe inspiration! I don’t normally do this, but I have to apologize if this post seems a bit choppy. I had drafted all of the comments below each outfit and then all of them didn’t save! I was up late last night updating everything, but I was getting cross-eyed! I hope everything makes sense!
I’ve been wearing my new cognac booties as often as I can because I’m obsessed with them! ? I was looking for this color that goes with everything and the little front v-cutout is very flattering to your leg line! I’ve worn them mostly with blue jeans so far, but I also paired them with black jeans and I love how well they go with those too! They have a higher heel, but I actually love that about them and the heel is slightly chunky, so they’re very easy to walk in and quite comfortable because the quality is so good.
When I first bought the super soft cozy cardi, I naively thought it was only to be worn inside, while cuddled up on the couch. But, I was wrong! I love wearing it out and still have that cozy feeling. It looks great over dresses too!
And I know you might be sick of me raving about these jeans, but they are truly my favorite (make you look like a skinny mini, hold their shape and a GREAT color), and when a designer jean goes on sale- I have to tell you! They are 33% off, and currently 4 sizes left, so hurry!
(this magic dress has lots of new colors out now! #MerryChristmas!)
See what I mean about the cognac booties looking good with black?! This particular pair goes even better with black jeans because it has a darker part on the toe. And this scarf just screams Fall, doesn’t it?!
I’ve heard y’all have gotten a ton of rain recently in the northeast. We have our fair share of rainy days here too. This particular day ended up being sunny, but I’m so glad I have a pair of rainboots for muddy ball fields! I got Jordan a pair too so she won’t ruin her sneakers! The red rainboots will be so cute for holiday time too! *I bought the kids version because they fit me well- not too high, and they saved me money! Just subtract 2 to find your kids size!
I love a monochromatic outfit and grey is one of my favorite colors, so you know I’m digging this outfit. This pair of grey jeans I scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but for an equally good pair at an even better price, check out this pair you’ve seen in my last Dressing Room post and styled with a pop of red.
Those grey booties go with so much too, and to dress up my skinny cargos, I wore them with this cable knit short sleeve top. Don’t be surprised if you see this top with a long sleeve shirt layered underneath it next!
I’m so glad we’re finally getting those Fall feels around here. It’s hard to tell from this pic, but the top is darling with slight bell sleeves. And you know I’m loving it with these booties!
For some reason, I feel so much more put together when I wear a button-down top instead of a tee. This gingham top is so versatile- can be worn tucked or untucked, with pants or a skirt for work, and also looks great under a sweater with the collar and tails peeking out.
This marbled sweater will always fondly remind me of Project OneWay because it was one of the tops featured in that fashion show. This outfit is just casual perfection in my opinion!
Date nights are few and far between around here, so we gotta make the most of them! My date night uniform is usually a pair of skinny jeans with a cute top and heels. This lace top needs a camisole, but I couldn’t find mine, so in a pinch I wore a bandeau top.
You might remember this blouse as one of the Must Haves because it’s got a nice tailored shape, but soft and silky and get this, machine washable! It’s exactly the type of top I always used to wear to work with slacks (this classic style was my go-to, a straight leg with a hint of stretch).
The cut of this blouse is slimmer fitting, which still shows a feminine shape, as opposed to being boxy. The roll tab sleeves give it a more casual look, so it’ll also fit in well at church, PTO or anywhere you want to look polished and chic.
See how it even dresses up the cargos with heels?!
I took this entire look straight outta my 15 Cute & Comfy Fall Outfits and made it come to life! I actually like this look so much, even though it’s on the preppier side and I don’t do prep that well. 😉 The sweater makes it for me, I don’t know why I’m such a sucker for an animal on a top!
With some altering, this leopard print pencil skirt is so good! I really needed XSP, but they didn’t have it, so I just had the waist taken in and left the length longer. I like it with this simple black 3/4 sleeve boatneck tee and statement necklace. Instant chic!
Here we go again with that gingham top I can’t seem to get enough of. Y’all know how hard I fell for that pink hat, so it’s been my weekend go-to with day 3 hair!
Whenever I’m running around with Jordan, I’ll often opt for sneakers or these ballet flats. The leopard always ups the style factor and you feel comfy and cute in them! This exact style is old, so I linked the newer version.
Was still feeling like Spring when I met my girlfriend for lunch, but this short sleeve peplum top also comes in a long sleeve version in tons of colors.
I wasn’t sure I was gonna like this striped top on me, but once I put it on, I became a fan! I think the colors are vibrant and perfect for Fall! This top would look great tucked into your black pants or skirt too!
For weekend errands, nothing is more comfy than these slip on sneakers. Remember I wore them all over NYC and my feet thanked me! I just saw that they are out in new colors including a gorgeous blush pink (on sale) and pale blue. But you do need to size down 1/2 in them because they run big.
The cozy cardigan is that one I shared in tan with my tall boots. It’s soft, stylish, petite friendly, good quality, and budget conscious. It’s not at all scratchy and although the lenght is longer, it won’t overwhelm a petite frame. Bonus that it’s machine washable and under $50! It fits pretty TTS, I’m wearing XXS.
Finally, you definitely need these skinny cargos! ? Trust me, you’ll wear them all the time!
It’s fun to be able to wear a dress once in awhile! Since I work from home and have a toddler running around, I feel like I’m almost always in jeans! I’m very impressed with this soft pink sweater dress. The v-neck gives you a little exposure, but the mock neck gives it an unexpected twist. You can wear this alone or belted or with a scarf/jacket combo. Lots of options and it’s under $50! I’m 5’1 and it hits just above the knee, the reviewers 5’5 and 5’6 said it’s not too short. It’s also not too snug or too baggy, rather, just skims your body.
Christmas Pajamas TTS, XS
Last but not least, I hope it’s not too early for Christmas jammies, because I’m already wearing mine! I got my greedy hands on this pair early because they always sell out so quickly!
