Happy almost Halloween Friday friends! We’ve got a first grade classroom party to attend today and it should be loads of fun seeing those kiddos all dressed up in their costumes! James is Texans football player JJ Watt, and Jordan will be Snow White. I even found her these adorable red glittery shoes (they seemed to run big- the 3-6 month size fit her perfectly, and she’s 8 months) to go with it! I’m not dressing in costume, but I did pick up this skull tank top at a recent Target run and will call that good!
Today, I’m sharing my favorite way to add interest to your fall outfits – by simply adding a colorful, patterned scarf. I look at my closet and see so much tan and white and black and grey, which I’m naturally drawn to, but I also like adding color here and there. If you’re like me, an easy way to dip your toe into the color pool is to add a scarf in colors you like. You can find so many pretty scarves for under $25, so it’s not a huge investment to stock up on a few you’ll wear often. I linked some gorgeous ones at the end of this post for you.First, I’ll show you a pretty Fall blanket scarf that you can wear many ways, (see 3 Ways to Wear Your Scarf here), but to show off the shoulders of this orange cold shoulder sweater, I wore it looped around my neck with the ends hanging down.
Still shows off that little bit of skin while keeping you toasty.
Here’s a better look at the cold shoulder sweater without the scarf and just a necklace. Of course I liked it so much, I also got it in grey/white stripe. #greyismyfavoritecolor
But isn’t it cute with the scarf?
You remember these leg-lengthening bootcut jeans I shared a few weeks ago? Not only do they give the illusion of more height, they are super soft and comfy. They run big, so you may need to size down. I’m wearing 0P. And they’re under $90!
To make the most of the leg-lengthening effect, wear a top you can tuck in. See here for example.
I’m really glad that this scarf came back in stock- I’ve had mine for two years, and have gotten so much use out of it. You can also incorporate a blanket scarf like this into your Fall decor by layering it over the back or arm of your couch, nestling it in a woven basket, or place it on your table as a tablecloth.
For an infinity style scarf, this one has been a big hit. My v-neck sweater has been on repeat lately, with just switching up the jeans, boots, and scarf. It’s a roomy fit, and I’m wearing XS.
I love how the pretty colors in this scarf add instant life to an otherwise neutral outfit.
Have you gotten a pair of peep toe booties yet?! I swear, I’m living in mine lately!
My blingy statement necklace came in my latest Rocksbox (you can get your first month free with my code HONEYWEREHOMEXOXO). It’s a fun way to get to change out your jewelry each month without committing to buying unless you really love a piece you want to keep. The earrings (similar) were in that Rocksbox too! #definitekeepers
I keep watching for this bag to go on sale again so I can let you know. It’s perfect for an organizing fanatic like myself because it has separate compartments to keep everything in it’s place. It also comes in black, dark green and plum and all are really pretty.
As promised, below are several scarves guaranteed to perk up your outfit! And when in doubt, just go with leopard!
