Date Night Style | Ruffle Tops + Boyfriend Jeans

Welcome to the weekend friends!  Ours will be a Saturday filled with baseball, baseball, and baseball, but thankfully that’s all that’s on the agenda.  I’m ready for a boring, nothing to do, Sunday!  We need those once in awhile, right?!

But first, I’m looking forward to Friday night, also affectionately known as “Mama ‘ain’t cooking” and we get to go out to eat! I have a casual but fun date night look for you featuring my new favorite, ultra comfy, boyfriend jeans!  I’ve been wearing these nonstop and have a couple posts lined up for you next week styling them different ways, but I’m really partial to how they look with this pop of red!

As much as I love my skinny jeans (specifically this crop pair), the comfort level of boyfriend jeans makes them a home run.

I’ve shied away from boyfriend jeans in the past, thinking they would be too baggy on my petite frame and overwhelm me or look sloppy, but this pair is more like a slim fitting boyfriend jean. They should probably be called “girlfriend jeans”.  I’m wearing my normal size, 0P, so I’d say they fit TTS.  I’m 5’1, 105 for reference.

It’s easy to dress up jeans for date night with a fun pair of heels and some eye-catching jewelry.  I’ve had this pretty crystal floral statement necklace for a long time and it instantly dresses up even the most basic t-shirt!

And this self-proclaimed girly girl is loving all the ruffles we’ve been seeing everywhere lately!  The feminine detail makes them so charming.  I found several more darling styles that I linked at the bottom of this post.

Now looking at these pictures, I’m thinking I should’ve done a mini tuck with this ruffle sleeve top, but I ordered petite and already washed it, so it’s a little on the shorter size with my long-waisted proportions.  I find this brand does run big, so I usually recommend sizing down.
The top is very soft and feels like butter against your skin, something I didn’t expect when I first tried it on.  Even the reviewers all mentioned how soft it is.

This leopard clutch is a steal at under $50 (similar to mine minus the tassel).  It’s a decent size that will comfortably hold your keys, lipstick, powder, phone and a few other things.  It’s made with leopard calf hair and has a solid black back with inside pocket.

I found a few (okay, a bunch!) of adorable ruffled tops for you.  Most of them are under $50! One of each, please!!
Top Row : 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 /
Middle Row : 1 / 2 / 3
Bottom Row : 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

Have a great weekend, friends! ?
