Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked full-time as a lawyer in corporate America. Â I loved many aspects of my job, and even getting to dress up for it! Â The ladies in the office always noticed when someone showed up in something new and it was a fun break in the day when an online order arrived in the office. Â Now that I work from home, my wardrobe is decidedly more casual, but I still like to show you office-appropriate looks to help inspire your workwear.
Thank you to Nordstrom and Shop Style for sponsoring today’s post!
Hello friends! Today, we’re throwin’ it back to a reader favorite – Work Weekend Wow!
The concept of Work Weekend Wow is that I show you multiple ways to wear an item for different occasions; specifically, work, weekend and a night out (wow). I know we all like to get the most out of our clothes by mixing and matching with other things in our closet, and also get the most bang for our buck. So, as the title suggests,
Starting working at 16, I’ve had my fair share of interesting jobs. I started at Dandy’s Car Wash, washing, vacuuming, and armor-alling cars after school and on weekends. I loved earning my own money for the first time in my life, but my nails were a mess! While still in high school, I worked at a flower shop arranging floral bouquets; a dental office, Famous Footwear, and TJ Maxx.
During college, I realized I could make a lot more money (in a shorter amount of time!) waitressing and bartending and that’s what I did to put myself through school.
Good morning friends! I’m so glad to hear that yesterday’s Fall Style 3 Ways post was helpful to you! I really like putting those outfits together, so I’m happy to do more in the future! Today, I have a new Work Weekend Wow post, along the same lines as yesterday, but with one hero piece, a pink blazer! Here’s how to wear a pink blazer for three different occasions; work, weekend and a night out (wow!).
Hello friends! How’s your week going? It’s a busy one over here with a visit yesterday from the cutest mini blogger! I donated my time via auction for a girls’ school and the 13-year old winner spent the day with us yesterday. I couldn’t believe how mature 13 is these days! It happens so fast!
WORK • WEEKEND • WOW
Today we’re taking fashion, specifically, a sassy pair of red ankle pants! Have you ever wondered how to style red pants?
Happy Friday!! I can’t send you into the weekend without wishing you a wonderful Mother’s Day! I’m blessed to have the best mom around and am looking forward to spoiling her for who she is and everything she does for us! It’s been a few rough years for her and our family since losing my Dad, but being able to have her here with Jordan has been the biggest blessing all the way around. I really think it’s helped heal her heart and we love getting to spend so much time with her. ♥
Good morning friends!! I’m obviously moving slow after a whirlwind of a weekend with my girlfriends in Dallas! If you follow me on Stories, you know I got sick during the trip, but I did my best to power through and still had a great time! Now I feel like I need a day to decompress and process everything I learned during the trip! And there’s 10 piles of laundry staring at me, so you know what I’ll be doing after this!
Today’s post is all about how to style your white blazer for work in a new edition of Work .
We had such a nice bonus day off school yesterday and spent the day running around town, eating lunch and doing a little shopping with the kiddos and my mom! Our weather has been glorious lately, so it was nice to enjoy the sunshine outside and feel like we were playing hooky on Monday! Look how happy Jordan was to find this tent! It’s got my brain swirling with ideas for her big girl room! But first, we gotta finish our master bedroom– and James!
Hello and welcome back friends! I hope you had a glorious Easter weekend! Ours was so nice! The kids woke up to Easter baskets on Sunday morning and eggs hidden by the Easter bunny!
In their Easter baskets were a book for each of them (Llama Llama books are popular for little kids and James is all about geography lately), some toys, a new swimsuit, and a bit of candy. What do you put in your kids’ baskets?
Anyone with young kids knows it can be a challenge to get everyone ready and out the door at a certain time,
Happy Friday friends!  I’m waking up in Austin this morning no closer to solving any Facebook puzzles, but at least I’m having a good time catching up with friends!  Thank you SO much for letting me know you like my new fashion series: Work • Weekend • Wow!  Getting your feedback is so appreciated!
In these WWW posts, I’ll show you multiple ways to wear an item for different types of occasions; specifically, work, weekend and a night out (wow). I know we all like to get the most out of our clothes by mixing and matching with other things in our closet and also get the most bang for our buck.Â
And just like that, I’m off again for a couple days for a blog conference in Austin, this time to try to figure out the puzzle that is Facebook when trying to use it to promote your blog! I hope I learn a few things and I’ll be sure to report back! But, the cool thing is, I get to meet up with my buddies Cassie and Sheaffer for some fun girl time! You know it’s always a hoot with these girls! I swear, I wish I was funny but at least I know when to laugh! Â
Hi friends! Hope y’all are having a great week! Â I’ve got two more ways to style this fun pair of print pants today, and these two looks are both work appropriate if your office is on the casual side! Â And the pants have been marked down 40% off now!
Hello Friday and a special shout out to Cinco de Mayo!!  #ayeayeayeeeeee!!!! We’re having a causal block party, potluck style with plenty of margaritas.  It’s one way to socialize with adults and the kids without having to call in a babysitter!  Will be really fun and I need it!  Man, it’s been a busy week with my May goal of trying to wake up at 5am (this first week pretty much sucked, but it’s getting better), sharing Jordan’s one year recap (she is so curious and energetic, and growing right before my eyes!), my microblading results (I was so.freaked.out at first,
Hello there friends! Remember a few weeks ago when I went and tried on this cute A-line striped skirt (on sale under $40!)?! It was way too big in the store, so I ordered it in 00P, which just sounds so silly (I’m 5’1, 105 lbs), but crossed my fingers it would fit because the skirt is just too cute! Thankfully, it did! I know y’all like the Wear to Work series, so I’m styling this skirt up for you two ways today, both office appropriate. I know that creating outfits to wear to work can be fun,
Did y’all have a good Valentine’s Day yesterday? I have to brag on my hubby for surprising Jordan with something special for her very first Valentine’s Day.  He bought her a “J” initial necklace from James Avery and I had nothing to do with it! #babysfirstjewelry 😉 And he got her a sweet card too!  I remember my Dad always getting my mom and me a heart-shaped box of candy each year and it’s still a special memory for us both.
Hi friends! Â Yesterday, I kept thinking it was already Thursday, which had me all out of whack, but I’m back on track and yes, today is Thursday and tomorrow starts the weekend! Â Can’t come too quick- this week has already been nutty! Â I mentioned before that we all (except Jordan) got a stomach bug, and then my poor Mom got it! Â Ug, what a nightmare this thing has been!! Â Well, it can only get better, right?!
Today, I’m showing you two more outfits you can wear with your gorgeous leopard heels. Â It has been surprisingly difficult for me to find a pair in a reasonable price range,
I clearly remember when I worked in an office the struggle of deciding what to wear each morning. Outfit planning for the week on Sunday night made it better, but I didn’t always make time to do that. And the struggle is real to find a decent pair of quality, well-fitting pants! Pants were the go-to because you could wear them with almost anything, dress them up for meetings or down for a more casual look.
Hi friends! ‘Tis the season for holiday parties – work ones too! I’m popping in quickly today to share a holiday outfit that would be great for your holiday work party. Many of you work outside the home and are looking for outfits that aren’t dressy dresses, but rather, something you can wear during the day for a Christmas luncheon. I’ve gotcha covered! If you have a favorite pair of black pants and heels, all you need to add is this beautiful black lace top (40% off with code WRAPUP).
Y’all asked for more wear-to-work styles, and I’m happy to oblige! Even though I ‘work’ from home, I remember well those days of getting all ready every morning to go to the office and always looking for work outfit inspiration. Â The good news is, lots of work wear transitions well to happy hour or date night, so you can get double bang for your buck out of most of these outfits!
At home, I’m usually in jeans, but for work, I mostly wore skirts and dresses because they felt polished and professional. Â Also, unless you get the fit of your pants just right,
