New Dressing Room & Must Have Jeans
Hi friend! Yay for Friday and for the Houston Marathon this weekend! I was planning to run the full marathon, but a lingering cold in December postponed my training plans.
My little brother is in the same boat, so he and I will be running the half together and I’m SO excited. This is a huge race to be a part of, and since I’ve watched it as a spectator for years, it feels awesome to be one of the participants this year. If you’re participating or see me, I’d love to know!

Slim High Waist Flare Jeans Outfits
Our temps are all over the place, currently 74 degrees while I type this on Thursday, but a cold front is coming our way and we’ll be freezing by Monday. Accordingly, I have a few really good sweaters in this post.
I’m crazy for the mixed textures in this one from Loft. Super cute with the different stitching and contrasting hem.
I paired it with the slim high waist flare jeans. These are great without any distressing, but they do have a raw edge. I also like the dark wash which makes them easy to dress up or down.

A basic pullover gets an upgrade in this poppy pink color. It also has slightly puffed sleeves, which dresses it up a bit. I also like how it has elastic wrists, so you can keep it scrunched up.

I’m loving this textured striped sweater with all the happy colors! It’s a medium to heavier weight, so nice and warm.

It’s still chilly, but I really liked this dotted button shell and the smocked waist. You can blouse it over or under – I bloused it over in the above picture and bloused in under in the below pic.
It’s a nice staple item if you work in an office or just want something that looks polished. It’s got petite buttons down the front, is silky soft and makes a great layering piece under a blazer or cardigan.

Must Have Express Jeans
I ordered the new High Rise Ankle jeans from Express and I LOVE THEM! I actually ordered them in three different styles and I love all three!

This first pair is a solid darker wash with a regular hem. They are incredibly comfortable, stretchy, and without any gaping in the waist.
I love this ankle length because you don’t have to worry about cuffing your jeans to show some ankle with a bootie. Yet, they also look great with heels, wedges, flats and sneakers!

The top is a henley style pullover in a very soft knit. It has a feminine flair with the ruffled collar and puffed sleeves. And the lavender color is really pretty.
For a more bold hue, I found this bright pink sweater at Express. It has a cool diamond pattern with varying textures.

Same jeans in the light wash with a raw edge hem. There’s also some whiskering at the hips, making them look perfectly lived in.
I just can’t say enough good things about these jeans. It’s been awhile since I’ve ordered jeans from Express and I’m so pleased and impressed with this style.

The top is relaxed pullover with a drop shoulder and fitted elbow-length sleeves. The v-neck is perfect for opening up your neckline, but it’s not too revealing.
It’s the kind of top you’ll wear year round – looking just as great with shorts in the spring and summer.

Your sweatshirt hoodie gets an upgrade in a soft sweater material. I like the length on this pullover and the style with the hoodie, kangaroo pocket and ribbed knit finishing.
And you know I’m a huge fan of these comfortable loafers. Just be sure to size down half if you’re in between sizes – they stretch with wear. I wear these thin loafer socks with them.

And sandals! These are the same High Rise Ankle Short jeans in a light wash with a sewn hem and ripped knees. I don’t wear ripped jeans that often, but these are SO CUTE! Very relaxed and perfect for a casual weekend!

The bright yellow top was calling my name. We could all use a little sunshine in our lives. It’s really soft and easy to wear – in many more colors.
Yet, I’m a neutrals gal at heart and I LOVE this tan cardigan. I like wearing it buttoned up like a sweater. It has a tightly woven cable knit, puffed shoulders and a unique pleated cuff.

This bow top is fun for a date night or girls night out! It’s a peplum style with one shoulder making up the top part of the bow and the bodice being the bottom part. It’s smocked in the back and the bust has ribber grippers to help keep it up and it place.

When I worked in a professional office, I always liked wearing the Express Portifino blouses. They are chic and stylish with a modern cut. This one is a relaxed style in a grey stripe with a ruffled collar and hidden button front. It looks great with jeans, skirts and pants.

At Loft, I found this bright hued pullover in a soft knit with exaggerated ribbed sleeves. I like the simplicity and how you can easily pair it with jeans for a relaxed look, or skirts/pants to dress it up.

Denim Skirt Outfit
The style of this denim skirt is really cool with the button front and split bottom. I also like the midi length and pockets on the front and back.
I always need to size down at Loft in their skirts though. I tried to scrunch the waist tighter so you could get an idea of what it would look like if it fit properly.

Although a little short, this dress is darling. It’s a button front shirt dress with collar that’s fully lined through the body with a sheer sleeve. It comes with the coordinating tie string belt.
If you’re looking for something to wear with an over the knee boot, this would be perfect.

I’m crazy for how this knit dress feels on! It’s soft and easy to wear, almost feeling like loungewear. It hugs the body, but doesn’t squeeze. I also like how the collar and contrasting sleeve dresses it up.

When you’re ready for a playful dress, this is a great option. It’s got a bold color and patten that you could accessorize in several different ways. The crossover top has a hook and eye closure to keep things hidden with ruffles at the sleeve and skirt.
It’s got an exaggerated smocked waist that could be cute with a bump.

This sleek midi dress is a tightly woven knit with a heavier weight, so it feels very slimming on. It has a crew neck and cap sleeve with a slight slit in the back that makes it easier to walk in.

Oh I wanted to LOVE this vibrant yellow dress. It’s super sexy and such a fun color! There’s one long sleeve and then a bandeau style side that gives way to a little side cutout.
I just felt like I had to try too hard to suck in while wearing it. Also, my strapless bra was showing a bit on the cutout side.

Oh, now this dress is a stunner!! Such a gorgeous cut and style, not to mention the rich colors. I adore the pleating and how dramatic it is on the one side. There’s also a demure little circle cutout on one side. It has a hidden side zipper.

Pajamas
You know a pair of pajamas are good when you don’t want to take them off! These are soft and stretchy and feel great on your skin! They’re navy and white stripe with a cute red embroidered heart. I like that they’re a jogger style. The top has a ballet neck with a drop shoulder and long sleeves.

Activewear
I found this crop v-neck sweatshirt at Nordstrom. On me, with high waist leggings, it covers my tummy. These leggings are the CRZ from Amazon – they’re in my top fave, along with my beloved Hey Nuts leggings.
The CRZ are a little more lightweight/thinner than the Hey Nuts. I wear the Hey Nuts most of the time, but opt for the CRZ when I want to be cooler.
I might wear the CRZ leggings during the half marathon on Sunday. I’m thinking I’ll want to be in leggings, but I don’t want to get too hot.
