Hi friends! I had so much fun trying on outfits with Ali-Shaun and Rhonda yesterday! I hope you love joining us in the dressing room (aka my bedroom!) on Black Friday! And I think that post will be even more helpful than usual because Rhonda is 5’9! She’s the sweetest and a good friend of both mine and Ali-Shaun’s – their boys play in the same select baseball league so they get lots of time together!
Today, you’ll see how far my love of neutrals goes. In my book, neutrals are soothing, relaxing, go with everything, and always look classic and chic. Sure there’s a time for pops of color, but in my wardrobe and home, I usually prefer a neutral color palette.
All of the outfits I’m sharing with you today are from Express. I’ve been shopping at Express since my ‘going out’ days in my 20’s where I could always find a sassy outfit to wear to the club.
Express was also a go-to when I started working as a lawyer and, for the first time in my life, needed a professional wardrobe. I could always find stylish workwear on a budget (those law school loans are no joke!).
Now, I still shop Express, but more for their on-trend styles that fit my lifestyle as a busy work from home mom. They still have the cutest ‘going out’ clothes, but now it’s to a lovely restaurant- I can’t remember the last time I was in da club! This sweater is slouchy goodness with a soft feel and oversize fit. It has a drop shoulder and v-neck that looks even better when you layer a v-neck tee underneath. I like how the hem of the sleeve is fitted so that you can scrunch them up and they’ll stay put.

Jeans Fit : I’m wearing size 0S, and at first they were so tight, but they did loosen up with wear and then I felt like they fit perfectly. I love how the short length means no alterations or trimming necessary!
I’m starting to feel all the festive vibes in this kitteny soft sweater. The fabric is so luxe and the tiny embellishments make it party ready. It has a v-neck front, but it’s made so that you can turn it around and wear the V as an open back.

I’m wearing the sweater with these light wash skinny jeans, but it would look so pretty with a skirt or slacks too. These jeans are such a pretty light blue shade without any rips or distressing.

This sweater was one of my faves and I like how you can dress it up for a night out, or wear it to work. It’s got a pointelle texture, conservative crew neck, but fun balloon sleeves. It blouses over easily so you don’t have to worry about getting that front tuck just right!

These jeans are a great alternative to your skinnies. They’re made with hyper stretch, which comfortably moves with your body.
Jeans Fit : TTS, I’m wearing size 0. They’re a high waist straight cut, but also meant to be a more crop length. I like them okay with a heel on me, but since I’m so short, I wish they came in petite length.

How fun is this top? It’s casual in the front, party in the back! The knit material is lightweight with lots of stretch, but the back is silky smooth!

Ooh, how pretty is this metallic beauty?! It’s got that holiday sheen that looks so festive throughout the season. I adore the shape too. The turtleneck folds at the perfect spot, not rubbing against your face and the body drapes beautifully. This would be such a classic top to wear with winter white pants or black pants at an office party.

I just read that zippers are on-trend for this season. Take a look around and you’ll be seeing them in sweaters and tops a lot! I’m smitten with the black asymmetric side zip on this pullover, along with the black piping! It’s super chic and would also pair well with leggings and sneakers for Black Friday shopping!
