October 1, it’s a new day and a new month! Many times during this last year I had thought about the day I’d be finally able to share what’s been going on, but I didn’t really know what it would look like or how it would feel. Knowing you guys, I was confident you would understand, but I wasn’t prepared for such a strong showing of compassion and support. ♥
So many of you have walked this road and have the battle wounds to show for it. But, you’ve also come out wiser and stronger and better for it. It’s really encouraging to hear your stories of hope. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to write and share them with me. I’m so thankful to count y’all among my friends.
FALL FITNESS CHALLENGE
You hear me say it all the time, but I really feel like exercise helped save my sanity this year. Through running and working out, I was able to get out loads of emotion that would have otherwise bottled up inside. It’s been healing and so therapeutic.
Cari and I put together a Fall Fitness Challenge for any of you that want to join. This Fall Challenge is totally free and we will be posting all of the workouts and recipes on our VIP Facebook page – so be sure to tell your friends to join!
We are also doing a group workout/meetup in Houston on Tuesday 10/29 at the Whole Foods Montrose store (more details on that coming soon!).
Today, we’re moving into Outfits Lately, where I’m sharing a big roundup of what I’ve been wearing as our temps start to drop.
My first official Fall outfit, even if I did only have it on long enough to snap a few pics! The sweater and jeans are from my recent Dressing Room post and I love the button fly and raw edge step hem. With the hem being shorter in the front, it lets a bit of ankle show above your booties.
Jeans Fit : Wearing 0P
P.S. You’ll get 50% off your LOFT purchase today and FREE shipping, online only.
This is what a lot of days have looked like in September. Getting to wear jeans, but with tanks and sandals. This floral halter top has been a fan favorite ever since I first showed it and wore it to San Antonio with the girls.
More Fall florals with this darling romper and my best girl! It’s a special treat when we get to stop at McDonald’s after school!
See, even more Fall florals! The great thing about this top is that you can wear it casually with jeans, or dress it up for work with pants or a skirt. It comes in several different colors/patterns and the ruffle detail is so cute.
We’re still transitioning to Fall with this outfit, hence another tank and jeans. The scallop detail on this tank was what drew me to it.
But check out the cute leopard flats. They make everything feel more like Fall and they are really comfortable. Your feet won’t kill you at the end of the day!
Leopard Flats Fit : I sized up half
This one looks Halloween friendly with the black jeans and ‘pumpkin spice’ top! You’ll see these jeans quite a bit because I’m crazy for them! I feel like an extra cool in them and don’t think the distressing is too extreme. The fit of the jeans is also amazing and very slimming. They are high waist with a good bit of stretch and again, a pair I didn’t want to rip off my body like it was on fire. #alwaysaplus
No wonder this jeans are a top seller with fantastic reviews!
Jeans Fit : I’m wearing size 0P
See! Same jeans, different top. The leopard top is selling quickly, so be sure to scoop it up before it sells out.
This pair of jeans has also been on repeat. They’re from GAP and a high rise skinny with a traditional button and zip fly. They fit amazing and help keep you looking trim with the secret slimming pockets. The medium indigo wash is perfect for wearing with virtually any top in your closet and they have a touch of fading and whiskering.
Jeans Fit : I love that these jeans come in regular, tall and petite. I’m wearing my true size, 25 Petite. I love how a tiny bit of ankle shows without me having to roll the bottom!
For a change of pace, I really like a comfy pair of joggers. They are so cool and easy to wear with front and back pockets and elastic zip hems. You can definitely dress these up or down and they’d be so cute for a night out with strappy heels and a graphic tee.
Joggers Fit : I sized down 1 from 25 to 24
No date nights for me, but I still like to dress up for an evening out with my friends. This off-shoulder top is sassy, but also comfortable, and the elastic keeps it easily in place.
Style tip : Wear this strapless bra with it
So many of you went crazy for this leopard top from my Target & Old Navy try-on. The “V” neck is also on the back and if this print isn’t your thing, it also comes in black or mustard dot.
James snapped my picture and the wind wasn’t cooperating. But I love it when he takes my pic- he’s short, so taking a pic from that lower angle makes me look taller. 😉 I liked this button front pullover so much, I bought it in two colors.
I’m hopeful that our jean shorts days will be behind us soon- we are so over the heat and humidity in Houston. But, this pair is a great high waist style if you prefer that.
My favorite kind of outfit for running errands on the weekend. These leggings from Amazon are a great buy and have lasted me forever, through tons of washings, baseball games and grocery runs.
The top is so soft and comfy- equally as good for lounging at home as it is running around.
This tote quickly became my everyday bag, and I just got the same one in brown for the Fall. It’s sturdy, stylish and very functional. Add the tote insert to help you stay organized!
Same leggings, different top. This long sleeve tee is so soft and comfy, great for layering or wearing alone.
Do you have a favorite outfit from this post? What are your temps like lately? Is it ‘sweater weather’ yet? Even if it’s only just starting to feel like Fall outside, I’ve been slowly bringing Fall inside with some Fall decor. I can’t wait to show you that soon!
Have a fantastic day friends!
