A Pretty Spring Nursery

Hello friends! We arrived home late last night from our Spring Break trip to Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  The vacation was with 3 other families and it was great to make those fun memories with the (9!) kids! We owe our friends’ Dad big time for generously offering to let us stay at his quaint log cabin! 17 people under one roof!! It definitely takes a lot of energy and effort to travel with young kids, but it’s worth it! I’ll do a full trip recap with some helpful family travel tips soon!

Today, we’re celebrating Spring with a look at Jordan’s nursery.  She’ll probably be graduating to a ‘big girl’ room soon, so I’m soaking up this nursery for as long as I can!

My friend Sita Montgomery helped with the design during the One Room Challenge and I’ve always been in love with how it turned out!  We started designing it before I knew I was having a girl, so the color palette was mostly soft grey and white, later, when I learned we were having a girl, we added in splashes of lavender.

I recently updated the room with a few Spring touches and wanted to invite you in if it’s been awhile since you’ve been here!

The big focal point of the room is the gorgeous artwork at Minted.  I ordered it in the very largest size I could get to fit the room and I love the statement it makes.  To make the room festive for Spring, I hung a Happy Easter banner across it.  It was easy to hang with little push pins you can barely see.

I still get asked all the time where the furniture is from and people are always surprised to learn it’s from WalMart (and also available on Amazon)! We’ve been very happy with the quality of the crib, dresser and glider, but the dresser drawers are very narrow and don’t provide a ton of storage.  We are lucky to have large built-in drawers in her bathroom that function as additional clothing storage.

Santa brought Jordan this Rocking Lamb for her first Christmas and she’s been smitten with it ever since!  It’s so cute and looks adorable in the room!  You can also get the wooden part engraved with your child’s name.

It doesn’t take much to welcome in Spring, just fill a few pretty buckets with eggs and you have instant decor! I found the wooden and aluminum Egg Hunt sign at Michael’s when I was planning Jordan’s first birthday party!

This is the rocking chair we read books in every night before bed.  Her current favorite book is Goodnight Bunny.

I thought this egg garland made a sweet decor moment with this cross we’ve had forever.

And what’s Easter without an Easter basket?!  We’ll reuse this white basket with gingham trim from last year.  I bet she’ll be super fun to color and hunt eggs with this year!

I really can’t believe what a big girl Jordan looks like now! She just turned two!  This age is just too sweet with their curiosity and personality and language all starting to come together!

Everyday is something new and I love the conversations we’re having now.

Here’s a shot of the whole room.  If you remember back, this used to be James’ room and I designed the built-in bookshelves and bench seat when we converted the room into a nursery.  Our carpenter did such and amazing job installing these pieces that look like they’ve always been here!

As much as I love each stage with her, I’m not ready for a big girl room just yet and she’s still quite content in her crib.  We just love her so much!

I’m off to do mountains of laundry . . .

  1. What sweet pictures! You did such an amazingly job with this room. It’s going to be a piece of cake to convert it to a big girl room. I kept my 3 in cribs as long as possible…I think we made it to 3 years old for each of them which looking back, is kind of a miracle!

  2. Hi, I love you nursery!! It’s gorgeous:)
Where is the bin for the toys from? I need a large bin to corral the toys over here 😉
