And here we are back to Friday already! That Tuesday 4th of July made for an interesting week, but I’m not complaining that we are back to the weekend again! And we have nothing on the agenda, which is always nice! Last weekend, I went through and organized all of Jordan’s clothes, cleaned out her closet and added some decorative touches, so I want to share that with you next week! But other than that, maybe we will just hang out at the pool if I can drag James out of the house! He’s such a homebody, he never wants to leave! Are your kids like that or the opposite?! I’m all for enjoying our home too, but I like to get outside at least once a day.
Before we get to today’s Outfits Lately post, I get to announce the winner of the $200 Colleen Rothschild Giveaway! I read every comment and appreciate hearing that much of our skin concerns are the same. And if you mentioned that you enjoy my blog, well, that never gets old! Thank you! Without further ado, the winner is: RUST HAWK! Check your email for a message from me!
Today’s Outfits Lately post is a big ‘ole round up of what I’ve been wearing lately. If you want more everyday outfit inspiration, I post my daily outfits on Instagram and Facebook, which is what I’m rounding up for you here today. These aren’t professionally styled photos, just selfies and pics out and about sharing my attempts to get out of jean shorts (it happens sometimes!) and get creative with the things in my closet. I hope you find it helpful for your own wardrobe!
For fit reference, keep in mind I’m super short, just 5’1, about 105 pounds. I often wear petite or size down for the best fit for my frame, but I’m also busty (34D) with ‘athletic’ i.e. big legs, so that can be a challenging combo.
I’m addicted to this local coffee shop in our neighborhood, “Boomtown” and can’t get enough of their Iced Capp, but sometimes a good old-fashioned black iced-tea does the trick. This cold shoulder, ruffle sleeve top was a keeper from my latest dressing room post and it’s so soft. Unlike with off-shoulder tops, you can wear your Perfect T-Shirt bra with it and be super comfortable.
Below is a better look at the beaded stretch bracelet combo I’m wearing with the dress. I love these because they brighten up any outfit and the stretchy part makes them easy to get on and off.
I was all about the red, white, and blue with the recent independance day holiday, but the red in this top is more maroon, so you won’t look like a flag wearing it. The tassel ties are darling, and if you wear this strapless bra, you’ll be good to go without bra straps showing.
I pretty much live in these Boyfriend Jean Shorts this time of year, so if you happen to run into me at the grocery store or Target (please say hi!), chances are, you’ll find me in them! The pink sneakers I found a few months ago are particularly great for running errands. I usually wear a 6 or 6 1/2 in athletic shoes and the 6 were perfect with thin ‘no show’ socks.
#sameoutfitdifferentshoes! Been loving these sandals by Sam Edelman lately. The quality is superb and your feet will feel good even after hours of walking around. Just note, this ‘red’ pair is on the orange side.
Red Cage Sandal (TTS)
This embroidered 3/4 sleeve boho top is what I wore on our little road trip last weekend. I like it so much, I also ordered it in blue/white.
If I’m not in the Boyfriend Jean Shorts above, this classic cutoff pair from Loft is a close second! They run big, so you’ll need to size down.
Occasionally, I still like to put on a pair of heels and get a little dressier! I have this great, classic sandal heel in several colors and they are a good price point at under $90 and look especially good with dresses. You can’t really tell it from the photo but the top has a little bit of stretch, so very easy to wear! The dark skinny jeans make you look like a skinny mini! I sized down one to 24 based on the reviews, but they are snug, so I probably could have went with my regular size 25.
This fun top is called the “fiesta” and no wonder- it makes me feel like drinking margaritas and salsa dancing! I wasn’t sure if a gathered-across-the-chest top would look good on a 34D, but it’s really cute!
If you read my “tips for traveling with kids” post, maybe I should’ve included, don’t leave your ID behind at the resort! Boo! I didn’t realize until after we got home that I left it in the envelope with the key card in the room and they couldn’t find it. So, off to the DMV I went on Wednesday, but it wasn’t that bad! Maybe this new black eyelet top brought me good luck!
These leopard ballet flats are the comfiest I’ve found. I’ve had mine for years and they’ve held up great!
Aren’t the flutter sleeves and detail on the v-neck cute?!
If you need a casual, running around in pant, these Cropped Skinny Chinos are a great option because they are good quality with pockets and come in several colors. I had to order mine online, but I think I made a mistake because I got regular 0, and really need 0P. I kept thinking they felt big, but didn’t realize until I looked at the tag that I didn’t get petite!
This white eyelet peplum tank turned out to be a fave from the dressing room posts. The white eyelet feels so fresh and summery! ? It runs big so size down, I’m wearing XSP and a white cami underneath.
Nothing like getting away for a couple days to relax and recharge! ????☀️? Top is new (SP) and silky smooth w the cutiest tie-back! On sale $20! ?Love this color combo! ?Props to Dad for snapping this pic w a toddler on his shoulders! ??
Y’all loved this flutter sleeve top and much and I do and it’s back in stock and on sale- extra 40% off!
Go Astros! Our team is doing so well this year and we got to take James to a game recently. Of course, that was one of the games we lost and our poor little cousin got bit by fireants and threw-up all of her cotton candy, but other than that, it was a great night! :/
Do y’all bunco? It’s the best excuse to get out of the house and enjoy some wine and girl time! I got so many compliments and “where did you get that” when I wore this striped peplum tank. It runs big, but I got size XS and after washing and drying it, it fit much better. It’s still a looser fit, but really cute!
My exact gingham top sold out, but there’s a super cute similar one on sale at Anthro!
Although we do have to drag James out of the house, we have gotten him to the pool a few times and he always loves it once he’s there! This is the most flattering, still sexy one-piece! You’ll feel so good in it and I bet get tons of women asking where you got it!
Jordan loves the pool! She has no fear, which totally worries mama though! I braved the bikini and didn’t worry about the wrinkles on my belly (too much).
I’m still on the wake up early to workout kick! I’m usually up by 5:30 a few days a week and I’ve found that group classes are the way to go! You don’t have to think, just do what the instructor says!
Elastic Hair Bands (great for top knots- I use one to make a regular pony tail. Then wrap hair into a messy bun and use the second elastic to hold it together.)
I love a good pair of pajamas and these are super lightweight and feel great on. They fit TTS, the XS is my perfect size, but the pants are long. #ofcourse
Wine Pajamas (XS)
Of course with it being a holiday weekend, the sales will be in full effect! These would be the ones you don’t want to miss!
