Happy almost 4th of July friends!
Thank you so very much for your sweet comments on my cleaned-up blog! Your friendship and support is what has kept blogging fun for me and why I still love it so much after 7 (wow!) years. When I was going through all those posts I had written so early on, I still clearly remember exactly how I felt when I was writing them and how I was giddy to be joining the blogging world that I so admired. Part of me looks back and cringes at some of the small, dark pictures I posted, but live and learn and hopefully, get better!
I get lots of emails now from people who want to start a blog and I say, jump in! You’ll learn along the way too! And there’s so many more blogging resources available now. Just a quick search on my Pinterest “blog” page will give you tons of info! I still wake up everyday excited that I get to do what I enjoy and am so thankful to have YOU to share it with.
Many of you comment that you can tell how much time and energy I put into my blog posts and I have to say that is one of the best compliments you could give. That’s probably one of the most surprising thing people find when they start blogging- how much time it takes if you want it done a certain way. And if you’ve told me that my blog is your favorite, I count that a true honor because I know how many wonderful blogs and bloggers are out there, especially now that everyone has a blog! All this to just say THANK YOU for reading, you are the best! If you happen to have issues with my updated blog, aren’t getting updates via email, please let me know! I’m still making minor tweaks behind the scenes.
The beautiful color and watercolor effect in this dress is what drew me to it initially. It’s so classy and elegant, but not at all stuffy. It’s also fully lined, and I love the halter neck- perfect for wearing your hair up! And it looks as good coming as it does going!
I love a dress with a good ‘swish factor’!
For the second ‘blue’ look, this outfit couldn’t be more comfortable and easy to wear!
Tank XS 50% off ⋅ Jeans 0P 40% off ⋅ Similar Jeans ⋅ Similar Leopard Skinny Belt ⋅ Spring Booties (black) (Similar) ⋅ Similar Blue Necklace ⋅ Bar Necklace ⋅ Watch ⋅ Bracelet ⋅ Ring ⋅ Straw Tote ⋅ Sunglasses
These bootcut jeans have become a wardrobe staple and they make even the shortest girl look taller if you get them right to the floor and wear them with a slim top tucked in. I’m wearing 0P, so I didn’t have to get them altered, which I love! My exact pair only has limited sizes, but these are similar price point with great reviews.
If you wear these jeans with a closed pointy-toe shoe, you’ll elongate the leg even more, but I’m currently obsessed with spring booties, like these. You can wear them with jeans, but they look extra cool with shorts and dresses.
I decided not to wait for a pool or beach day to carry this cute straw tote– we’ve gotten so much rain lately that our pool days have been few and far between.
I love to show off a statement necklace against a high-neckline top. This one is old from Stella & Dot, but you’d achieve the same look with this layered necklace.
Y’all saw this top in my last Dressing Room post, and I liked it so much I bought it in two colors. It runs a little big, but I got XS so it would be a relaxed fit. It’s long enough and hemmed so that it looks good untucked also.
I hope y’all have a wonderful 4th of July! We are so lucky to get to live in America!
