I’m a French-manicure girl for sure. My nail girl (Cindy) doesn’t even ask me to pick out a color because she knows it’s always French. Except for last week. I got a wild hair and chose this bright pink shade by OPI. And it’s not lost on me that a “wild hair” for me now includes a change of nail polish color!
Anyways, I love this nail color! I might be converted!
Hi friend! Welcome to a brand new week! Did you have a great weekend? Ours was full of sunshine. We went to a water park Saturday morning, it was really…
Man, I feel like we’re gonna float away here lately. You may have heard that Houston has been deluged with rainstorms and they are only now starting to let up….
Ever since our bra and panty intervention, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect (and I mean perfect) t-shirt bra. In my quest to find one I could honestly recommend…
The best thing about a long weekend? A short work week! I hope you are refreshed and had a great weekend. My family (Dad included) rented a boat on Sunday…
Hey friends! I’m sure I don’t have to tell you twice that it’s an exciting day for all of us fashion lovers!  I know y’all are just as excited about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as I am! And I’m so happy you’re here to shop with me!  #itsmorefunwithfriends! Cue the champagne, cheers and confetti!!!  I actually did have mimosas while I shopped the sale early yesterday and can I tell you- shopping is even more fun with a little side of bubbly! #youknewthat! I think they wanted to get me drunk so I’d shop my face off.  As if I needed liquid courage for that! I hope you are at home or work (shh, I won’t tell!) shopping online, because I’m sure the store is crazy packed today and I wouldn’t want to fight the traffic or dressing rooms today of all days!
And, if you aren’t quite sure what all the fuss is about, it’s okay, I’m happy to fill you in! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is THE SALE with all the NEW fall fashion goodness that is just released, but at slashed prices for three weeks, then they go up to full-price.  The things that are on sale now are the things you will be itching to wear the minute the slightest hint of a cool front hints- and actually even a few things you could get away with wearing now.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens today for cardholders, (get a card here and shop today) but don’t worry, if you don’t have a card, you can start shopping next Friday!  Mark your calendars to come back here, because I will have more to share!
At the store yesterday, I found so much to share with you that I’m breaking it into two posts. Â I’ll be back tomorrow with the second half. Â This post is already super long, so I tried to keep my commentary brief and informative! Â Maybe go ahead and pour yourself that mimosa, I’ll wait . . . . .
First up, I’ve been aching for a new pair of jeans and was specifically excited to try the much-loved AG skinny jeans. Â I’ve read the rave reviews about this quality, designer jean with a flattering fit, so that’s one of the first things I reached for! This pair is with a raw hem delivered and will make you look like a skinny mini! Â They fit TTS, but of course were a little long on me. Â The alterations lady actually said I could just cut the hem at home with scissors so that’s what I plan to do. Â Her only tip: be sure to cut a straight line!
This off-shoulder top sure ups the game on your grandpa’s flannel shirt! It’s super soft and cozy, and the off-shoulder/long sleeves are an awesome combo. Â I tried on XS and it fit fine, but the petite would probably be better. It also comes in pink and I think I need that one too! You know I’m going to recommend my all-time favorite strapless bra and I couldn’t believe our good fortune when I saw the PERFECT T-Shirt bra included in the sale. Â Remember the one I was giddy to find that’s wireless and seamless with good lift. Â Yep, it’s on sale for $39, $60 after the sale.
AND, my very favorite seamless panties that stay in place all day and are ultra comfortable, so much so that you’ll forget you’re wearing them. Â Those panties are in the sale for only $13, $19 after the sale. I’m thrilled to see more colors like pink and aqua- they only had tan, black and brown before.
Of course I was anxious to try on boots and booties, but this suede slide is one of the pairs of shoes I loved the most. Â It fit the most comfortably and the suede is buttery soft.
Right away I was smitten with the cowl neck sweater vest. Â The waffle fabric is thick and the baby pink is really pretty. Â It’s got small v-cuts on the side and isn’t the pocket a fun detail? A tight turtleneck isn’t usually my thing, but I love the looser cowl neck style.

I am normally a french girl too, but I LOVE a bright color for summer. Looks great!
Funny how the definition of "wild" changes as you get older/reach new stages in life. One of my fav OPI colors is Paint My Moji-toes, and I wrote about it just a few days ago. 😉
I love that color too. . . haha! I am a french manicure OR OPI Bubble bath on my nails (always, they don't even have to ask) but bright pink or red on my toes. . . You new nail color looks VERY southern cal! 😉 It is the little things in life! 🙂
Love that shade. I used to get pedicures about every other week. Before I had kids. I never did go for nails b/c they always chipped right off. I attempt to paint my own toe nails now, but I might as well ask the dogs to lick the polish on b/c it looks so awful. I think I'm due for a pedicure, and I want that shade!
Love the color! I used to get mine done all the time too, and always did french on my fingers…but I am ALL about color on my toes. Currently, they are the most obnoxious blue purple with a design. However, they desperately need to be redone. Love OPI's Texas collection!
I was always the french manicure girl too until I found Ulta's nail color, Mango and now that Target sells Essie, it kills me though at $8 a bottle, but the colors are so bright and it easily goes on my fingernails. I love how nailpolish can add that extra POP of color in your wardrobe
You wear it well! Wearing darker colors on my fingernails can be really fun (and when I say darker, I mean anything with color — I'm a neutral nails girl!), but just requires a little more maintenance.
I've been considering doing the gel polish with a pretty pink color. I had the gel done recently for our wedding in the French style and I LOVED it. It lasted over 2 weeks!
oh my word I love that color. so summery & fun. I usually get the whole frenchy done as well lately, I have been all sorts of colorful. Sometimes it's fun to change them every few days depending on the mood!
I love that color too! I am definitely a bright nails girl, so that pink is just another great one to add to my collection! Glad you're converting to the bright side 😉
Fun color, Megan! I've always been French on my nails and I might need to try this pink for a change. Great pop of color for summer. Your nails look pretty!
That's funny. I never get my nails done, just too much maintenance for me. I do love to get my toes done though and am a french pedicure girl, too. I am trying to venture out into bright pinks and reds when I get color. I do find it helps me get out of my comfort zone and it is fun! 🙂 Cute color by the way!!
My nails have been red for FIVE years! The SAME color red! In fact I named my blog after my love for OPI's The Thrill of Brazil! Check out: http://www.thethrillofhuntsville.blogspot.com 🙂
Weeee! Great way to be wild! I too am a french gal, however with all this reupholstering I'm doing lately I don't even bother with that, my hands are shot. Love the pink!

I heart the color!! I use to get only french manicures but for the last couple years, I only get color and I love it.
Love it! I painted mine bright red last week…I think polish changes are total mood pick-me-uppers! Happy Tuesday xo
Oh and I forgot! I LOVE the new mobile version! I can read your blog while I'm "working" so much easier now!
I love it! I did my toes a really similar color for the wedding last weekend. I am a pink nail girl all the way!

What a great summer color. Love the name too! Doesn't OPI have the cutest nail polish names??? Have you seen the Texas line?

Cute color!! I love to have my nails done up in colors for the spring & summer. I usually stick to french in the fall & winter.
You are so brave. My nail gal tried to get me to paint my nails last week, and I just couldn't do it. I am french manicure all the time. -KD

I've always been a bright toes girl, and mostly naked nails. When I do paint nails, they are bright too. That color looks great on you!

Great color! I love bright pink for my toes…haven't tried it yet on my fingers…maybe I'll be brave and go for it. 🙂
