Man, I feel like we’re gonna float away here lately. You may have heard that Houston has been deluged with rainstorms and they are only now starting to let up. School for our son was cancelled two days and out where my mom lives, they had no school all week. The water came up over the curb of her house and into the front yard, but didn’t get into her house. She hasn’t been able to come over all week since the roads between her house and mine are still bad. Thankfully, we’ve all stayed safe and I so appreciate your well-wishes! Our hearts go out to those who’ve had water damage to their homes and cars (been there and it sucks!) and above all, we are praying for those that didn’t make it. We have to count our blessings everyday. This little ray of sunshine has been my biggest blessing these days. She’s gaining weight so she’s starting to get a little squishier, which just makes me want to snuggle her up all the time!

All this rain sure makes for good naps. This week marks a milestone where I’ve been able to put Jordan down for naps during the day, where previously I was holding her. She’s been napping in the Mamaroo, and eventually I hope to get her napping in her crib. Baby steps.

*for sizing purposes, keep in mind I’m a super shorty (5’0 or 5’1 on a good day, athletic build, and currently about 115 pounds, with those 5-10 extra pounds (mostly) in my postpartum belly and nursing boobs! Implants + milk = Dolly Parton lately. :/ I always put the size I’m wearing in purple italics for you for reference.

A couple weeks ago, I was on the hunt for a new pair of white jeans. It can be challenging to find a great pair that fit and don’t make your legs look like sausages. The wrong white jeans tend to do that, even on the most svelte bods. I do have a very favorite pair of white jeans by AG that are made with a thicker material that holds you in, but still has great shape. Unfortunately, they still don’t fit this post-pregnancy body that well in the waist. I.E. I can’t get them buttoned! I see that AG has a similar pair of white skinny jeans on sale 30% off.
I ordered three pair of reasonably priced white jeans, thinking I’d probably have to try more, but one of them actually worked out! First, I’ll show you the ones I returned in case they might work for you or you want to see what I didn’t like about them.
I have a pair of dark Treasure & Bond jeans, so I wanted to give these a try (great price too!), but I didn’t like how they fit me. They were pulling in a weird way across my hips, the thigh was a tad too tight (I have big thighs or big for the rest of my shape) and they were gaping in the back at the waist.
I think if you are a little taller and don’t have muscular thighs, they could work for you, but you might still have to take the waist in at the back. That’s an easy fix I’m willing to do if the rest of the jeans fit well.
I love this jean in my blue denim pair, but in white, I wasn’t crazy about the big pockets in the front. Again, it’s an easy fix to alter those to cut them out, or maybe they don’t bother you if your shirt will cover them anyway. These jeans do have a nice, thick material (99% cotton, 1% spandex) so they are forgiving. I almost kept these, but opted not too because they are pretty short at the ankle and I thought a longer pair would be more versatile.

These white jeans fit more like a comfortable jegging (98% cotton, 2% spandex) because they are tighter, but really comfortable. They also have a somewhat visible pocket, but it’s much smaller and your top will likely cover it. Because these were ultra soft and comfy and longer, I choose these.
See how most tops would naturally hit, covering the pockets?
In the previous photos, was pulling that grey tank up so you could see the waistband of those jeans, but here it is au natural with my ripped white jeans. Really like this pair for something different.

I shopped everywhere looking for a two-toned watch before splurging on the one I’ve been wearing since I got it. I waited until it went on sale and it’s on sale again now (20% off). It’s still more than I’ve ever spent on a watch before, but I rationalized that I’ll wear it forever. It’s a classy watch I can pair with silver or gold and dress up or down. I haven’t regretted this purchase.

Love the white jeans with the blue scalloped top…beautiful! My favorite pair of white jeans are from the Brass Plum department at Nordstrom. It's the teenager dept because my teens are always dragging me in there. Seriously, I love them so much…they are by Articles of Society and they have a fun frayed hem which is so cute. I also love Lucky skinny jeans in white! I hope Houston gets some relief very soon. I have a very good friend who lives there.
