I Might Be Ridiculous

because I couldn’t resist buying this cute “Merry Christmas” sign . . . LAST MONTH!!!  I found it at Hobby Lobby, where, apparently Christmas is upon us.  Have you seen those signs, “Christmas is coming, are you ready?”  I always laugh when I see them, but this time, they lured me in.

I’m really not into a rush for Christmas, in fact, I love the fall season and Thanksgiving.  But this will be the first Christmas in our new home and with James.   I have a memory of being a young girl, probably around 4, on Christmas Eve, and my dad coming into my room before bed and sharing with me the story of Jesus and how that is why we celebrate Christmas.   Now, I get to pass on these things to my son.

And in the spirit of sharing, I’m passing along that in honor of her 32nd birthday, Beauty in the Attempt is giving away a $32 gift card to Target and also a lovely butter dish.  Go here to enter.

Also, I have updated my blogroll, which you can check out under “Blog Love” in my sidebar.  Have a great weekend y’all!   . . . And if you are ridiculous too, please let me know so I can have some company:)

  1. Hobby lobby! Lucky you, we don't have those here. I need to update my blog roll, really, really soon. It is a sorry state, 3 blogs listed, and I follow like 100! Thanks for including mine, that is sweet of you.

  2. You are too funny! I love what you grabbed. The sign is adorable. Funny thing happened yesterday on my trip out with my girlfriend...I too bought two christmas items! However, one can be used year round if I choose. Thanks for including me on your blog roll. I need to update my blog...the picture really needs to go the opposite direction! Too much white space. Have a fantastic weekend!

  5. A girl after my own heart. I LOOOVE Christmas decorations. But I am trying really hard to be a good girl and not buy any just yet. Jason has given me strict instructions that I can't Christmas-fy my house until December 1st. Those men! Have a great weekend! :)

  7. You're not alone, Megan! I went into Hobby Lobby in July looking for some outdoor patio decor ... They were resetting the store and had already gotten rid of all of their summer things -- In JULY!!! Christmas is my favorite time of year, but that was a bit early ... Even for me. Haha. Maybe it's time I went back to find some holiday goodies.

  10. Too funny! They do lure us in don't they? I was already peeking at the ornaments at PB yesterday. I did a lot of after Christmas shopping last year so I need to be good...just a couple pretty things.
You are going to have the most wonderful holidays this year with the baby and the new house, looking forward to your festive home!

  11. Meghan,

I love it! I think the fact that there are new little people to celebrate the holidays with make them even more special and even more anticipated! Not to mention, sharing the important details of our faith.

I get emotional just thinking about it!

So no, I think they are adorable and I don't blame you one bit!

  12. You're not ridiculous! I love Christmas, too. I just bought a "food gifts" magazine and it's all about Christmas foods. I got so exciting reading it. The Merry Christmas sign is so cute. I bet you're going to have a wonderful first Christmas with James. I can't wait until I can share Jesus' birthday with my kids someday! What a blessing
