Tips for Transitioning Summer to Fall Outfits
*Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring today’s post
Hi friends! How was your weekend? Ours felt really long with lots packed in! We kicked off Friday night with Moscow Mules at Marianna’s house, then had two birthday parties and a baseball game. I feel like I need one more day of weekend, but there is no rest for the weary. 😉
I tend to be up late on Sunday night getting all my ducks in a row for the week, so I let myself sleep til 6am, get the kids ready for school, and then make sure I get a good workout in right after I drop them at school.
It definitely makes the week go better if you have a productive Monday and start the week with an awesome workout!
And today is also a special day because the Get Fit Done Meal Plan is live and available for purchase! We are so excited to help you out in the kitchen and take some of the pressure and guesswork out of creating easy, healthy meals. Read more about it and get the special introductory rate here!
3 TRANSITION TO FALL OUTFITS
Often the posts I write are as much for myself as they are for you and today’s post is no exception. For weeks now, I’ve been ready to throw on a lightweight sweater, plaid button down, jeans and booties.
But, the weather has other plans.
It’s been in the high 90s here and so hot! You know it’s bad when a ‘cool front’ means it will only be in the low 90s. :/
Today, I have a few tips for transitioning your wardrobe to Fall, but not sweating to death in the process.
And, in collaboration with Nordstrom, I was able to put all three of these outfits together by browsing their website. If you shop Nordstrom online, you know how easy their site is to navigate with large color photos, well organized departments, and reliable customer reviews.
They make it so easy to find what you need in a jiffy and I swear by their buy online, pickup in store option. Plus, I get to see my friend Jamece that way!
OUTFIT #1
Style Tip : Wear jean shorts with a lightweight, long sleeve top.
Jean Shorts • Top • Wedge Sneakers • Bag • Similar Bag • Leopard Scarf
It’s way too hot to give up the jean shorts over here, but I’m over wearing them with tanks and flip flops. In that case, I just switched out the tank for a very lightweight long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve top and added my wedge sneakers.
I love the secret height the sneakers give, but they’re also incredibly comfortable. They’re 60% off now, but sizes are limited. For an alternative sneaker, try this pair with an adorable perforated top.
I have a very favorite pair of jean shorts, but they are shorter with distressing, so I really like this pair by Madewell that is still stylish without the rips. You can wear them unrolled for a bit more length.
Jeans Fit : I’m wearing size 24, one size down from my normal size.
And isn’t the top cute from the back? And in the front, it’s preknotted so you don’t have to mess with it, but of course you can unknot it and wear it with a front tuck. It comes in multiple colors.
Top Fit : Runs slightly small, I’m wearing size XS
Style Tip : Add a lightweight scarf
Jean Shorts • Top • Wedge Sneakers • Bag • Similar Bag • Leopard Scarf
Adding a lightweight scarf is a no brainer and one of my favorite ways to accessorize for the Fall.
This bold leopard print immediately caught my eye and I like the brown stripe detail for something different.
Jean Shorts • White Top • Wedge Sneakers • Bag • Similar Bag • Leopard Scarf
Oh, and I finally got the tote bag that Ali-Shaun swore I needed during the Anniversary Sale. It’s so cool because you can fold it up for travel and then zip it up to make it smaller or unzip to create a larger tote.
I’m pretty sure the navy sold out, but the gunmetal is still available!

OUTFIT #2
Style Tip : Add a pop of leopard
Leopard knows no season, but isn’t it especially good in the Fall? A little bit goes a long way and these comfy leopard print flats add just enough to liven up your outfit.
Jeans • Scallop Top • Leopard Flats
Leopard Flats Fit : I sized up halfÂ
Aren’t they so cute?! I really like the streamlined style and how the heel part separates from the toe part if that makes sense.
Style Tip : Add more Fall colors to your wardrobe like jewel tones, oranges and reds.Â
This scallop top was one of your faves from a recent try-on. I think it’s a combo of the scallop detail, the fact that we can still wear cami/tanks alone and soon under a cardigan, and this fun, bold color.
Top Fit : TTS, I’m wearing size XSP
Jeans • Scallop Top • Leopard Flats
Jeans • Scallop Top • Leopard Flats
But don’t let me forget to tell you about these awesome jeans! They are so good and budget friendly! The darker, more solid wash – combined with the higher waist – helps you look longer and leaner.
AND, they are so comfortable with a good bit of stretch AND I love that they are an ankle length! They will be especially cute with booties when the weather does cool down!
Jeans Fit : TTS, I’m wearing size 0P

OUTFIT #3
Style Tip :Â Camo print is still huge and even better in a jogger pantÂ
I think we’re used to seeing camo in skinny jeans, but I’m seriously smitten for this camo pair of joggers! I ordered them in a size down and crossed my fingers they would fit and, happily, they did!
Top • Camo Pants • Sandals • Bag
Joggers Fit : I sized down 1 from 25 to 24
They are so cool and easy to wear with front and back pockets and elastic zip hems. You can definitely dress these up or down and they’d be so cute for a night out with strappy heels and a graphic tee.
Top • Camo Pants • Sandals • Bag
Style Tip : If it’s too hot for boots, try a a block heeled sandal with a thicker strap. They are kind of in between a sandal and a bootie!Â
I liked this button front pullover so much, I bought the grey one too!
Top Fit : I’m wearing size XS
Top • Camo Pants • Sandals • Bag
