Hi friends! Thank you so much for the kind comments on my Everyday Makeup tutorial! I’m so glad it was helpful for you! I know it sure helps make me feel better when I take those 10 minutes to ‘put on my face’ in the morning!
I’m so happy to be in March now with all of the birthdays behind us! Don’t get me wrong, I love celebrating, but three birthdays back to back to back was a lot! Now we’re looking forward to Spring Break! Last year we went to Galveston and this year we’ll be going to Colorado with three other families (oh hi Ali-Shaun!).
I also have a work trip planned at the end of the month. I love getting to blog for work and it took me a while to realize that this blog was more than a hobby. I strive to bring you the best, most useful and fun content and I also want to learn how to make the most of it. In everything I do, I’m always trying to learn and grow, so I hope to come back with tips I can share with you too!
Speaking of fun and useful content, it’s time for March Loves! If you’re new to Monthly Loves, I share things I’m loving each month, with the aim to highlight fabulous things I swear by, some things I might want to try, great deals, and under $50 finds! All perfectly appropriate for the flavor of each month!
For all of you heading someplace warm and sunny for Spring Break, two of my favorite one-pieces from last year are back in stock in all sizes! This first one is sassy but still kid-friendly with a halter neckline and gorgeous crochet detailing throughout. It has an open back and comes in black and white also. Whenever I’ve worn this, I’ve gotten tons of compliments on it!
FIT: TTS, wearing size Small
I felt ultra comfortable in this adorable gingham one-piece and was so sad when it sold out quickly last year. I’m sure it’ll be scooped up again fast this year, so don’t wait. It’s great for splashing around with the kids without any worry about what your suit is doing or how it’s making you look. The shoulder straps and bust cup pads are removable and the side ruching is very flattering for anyone who wants to disguise a tummy.
FIT: It fits TTS, I’m wearing a 2.
When I find a good tank that I love, I buy it in every color! This fine ribbed racerback tank comes in black, white and grey. It’s perfect for layering underneath cardigans and also with jeans and jean shorts when the weather heats up!
I went ahead and pulled together a flat lay incorporating four of the things from the March loves- the tank, jean shorts, bag and similar necklace. This is my summer uniform for sure- I lived in those jean shorts last year!
It’s Friday, I’m in love! Extra points if you can name that song! Wear this lightweight pullover alone or under a jean jacket on . . . Friday or any other day!
Here’s a close up of the new beaded and tassel necklace for Spring. I love how it adds that extra punch to your outfit with just one piece! Aren’t the colors pretty in this one?! I bet you’ll be surprised at how many things you can wear it with! And it won’t break the bank!
Our weather warmed up enough for me to go on my first outdoor run of the season! I always grab this bra for running because it’s so comfortable and keeps the girls in place- even the larger chested ones! It’s fitted according to your bra size (TTS) and clasps closed with hook and eye closures. The velcro straps are adjustable and I love that they don’t dig into my shoulders!
I saw that this Lacy Bralette is out in a pretty blue and copper – super cute for Spring and Summer under tanks and dresses with bigger arm holes. But, I love this pretty racerback bralette for under racerback tops like the tank above!
A great jean jacket will be your BFF, especially this time of year when you can’t tell if you’re going to be hot or cold. This one is great because the shape is nice and fitted and the color goes with everything. I often keep this jacket in my car because it’s compact, folds easily and doesn’t get wrinkled. Then I have it on hand for chilly stores or movies. I wear mine with everything from blue jeans, white jeans and especially with dresses!
FIT: It fits TTS, but size up if you want a looser fit. I’m wearing XS.
I’ve had my eye on this bag forever, but I didn’t want to pay the big designer price for it. I found this one for a steal (under $40 w free shipping)!!! It came right away, securely wrapped and with a little gift inside. The wood is super smooth, the handle is easy to hold, and the bag doesn’t feel cheap. I got the size small, which is perfect for my frame and for holding the essentials. I love this bag with dresses for Spring!
And here’s a good look at the scale of the bag on me- I’m 5’1.
When the weather heats up and we want to start wearing skirts, dresses and shorts, there’s no denying that legs look better with a tan. If you want to get a nice natural looking, but dark color, this is my go-to. I’ve been wearing it since my bikini competition days many, many years ago! It goes on as a lotion that you rub in and it’s brown so you can see where you’re applying it. Definitely wear the glove it comes with because it will stain your hands if you don’t. The color absorbs and deepens over the next couple hours to give you a great tan color. It doesn’t smell terrible, but it’s not roses either. I just love it because of the color it provides.
Here’s a shot of the jeans shorts above on. I like the casual boyfriend style, but they aren’t super baggy- more like a girlfriend style.
Fit: I found they run big so I sized down from 25 to 24.
Although I’m partial to the stripes, this sweater comes in lots of pretty colors for Spring. It’s one of those great transition pieces that you can wear while the weather makes up it’s mind. And it’s under $50!
TWO JUMPSUITS & A MAXI DRESS
I got all giddy when I saw three of my favorite pieces making a comeback for Spring too! All of these pieces are winners and are great for dressier occasions, although the maxi can be worn casually too.
A jumpsuit can easily go oh so wrong, but this one is so good! On the supermodel, it’s ankle length, and on me (5’1, XS) it’s too my heel and could still benefit from a slight alteration at the hips. The bodice boning and sticky tabs help keep it up and secure, but you can also wear a strapless bra just in case. I’m wearing dark navy.
This jumpsuit is one of the most comfortable things in my closet. It’s a faux wrap, super slimming, and you can wear a bra with it. It hangs beautifully and the material is silky smooth with pockets. I’ve seen the blue one on a friend with dark hair and she looked great in it!
Fit: Some reviewers recommend sizing up, but mine fit TTS. I bought an XS, but got it altered at the length. I don’t think it came in petite when I ordered mine, but it does now!
This maxi dress will never go out of style. I have this exact one is blue and white too and always feel so good whenever I wear it. It’s a simple silhouette, but I love the wider shoulder straps and deep v-neck and how it’s fitted at the smallest part of your waist. It’s ultra comfortable and figure forgiving. Two thumbs up on this one for sure! There are 6 colors to choose from, and if you can’t decide, get both! 😉
Fit: TTS, I’m wearing PP. No alterations needed!
So tell me friends, what are you loving for March? Is your jean jacket getting extra use lately?? See you back here tomorrow with a new Dressing Room post- with lots of SWIMWEAR!!
