Nordstrom Sale – Open to Everyone! Fall Outfit Inspiration
Yay, yay, yay for ALL my friends who can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now! I’m always more fond of things where everyone is included, so today is a happy day! I have a big ‘ole Texas-sized fashion post for you, so grab your cup of coffee and get comfortable! Today I’m showing some things I tried on in the Nordstrom dressing room last weekend (see the first round here) and also some things that I styled up for you so you could get some Fall outfit inspiration and see how these things fit on a non-model body! I’m a shorty, a little over 5 feet tall, about 110 pounds with an athletic build and I put all fit info in purple italics.
FIT – Franco Sarto Boots:These boots are gorgeous in person and the sandstone suede pictured here is a great neutral tan color that will go with so many with things. The 3 1/2 inch heel elongates your leg and isn’t too hard to walk in because the heel is on the chunkier side, but not too chunky. I love the look of them on!
The problem for me is that they are slim at the over-the-knee part and it would be hard to sit comfortable with your knees bent. I’m thinking if you are a few inches taller than me (I’m about 5’1) then maybe the boot would hit lower on your leg and you’d be able to bend your knee more in these. That was my only problem with them and I was sad about it, because otherwise I would have kept them! They come in black leather and and whiskey suede (orangish-brown) also.
A lot of times a chunky knit sweater like this is on the dowdy side, the deep V on this one makes it sexy! Wear a tank underneath if you don’t want to show that much skin. FIT: The sweater runs big, I’m in XXS.
I couldn’t get over the price on the Vigoss distressed jeans and they fit true to size, I’m in my normal size 25, I just need to get the length altered.
Hats can be tricky, but this one is really flattering. It doesn’t look as floppy on the website, but it’s great in person! The hat is one size and my head is on the smaller size and it fits, but there is also room if your head is bigger.
FIT – Faux Leather Jacket: This jacket runs small. I would normally wear XS, but I’m in a Small here and I wouldn’t be able to wear a heavy sweater underneath it because it would be too tight in the arms. I like this style of jacket more fitted anyway, and would wear thinner tops with it like above or a tee-shirt or tunic type top.
FIT – Dolce Vita Silas Boot:These OTK boots have a 22-inch shaft, which on me, is more like a thigh high. They are comfortable though and the 2-inch heel is low, so the thigh-high part is less intimidating than if the heel was a stiletto. The back of the knee part has a cutout that makes them more comfortable for walking/sitting. They run TTS, I’m in my normal 6.5 that I wear in boots and sneakers. This acorn suede color with the stitching style is on the western side, but you can make them look more modern by wearing something chic on top like I did with the jacket and gold necklace. They also come in black, dark grey and khaki suede.
FIT – Vince Camuto Melaya Boot: These are my very first OTK boot and I’m totally smitten with them. They fit true to size (although a few reviewers recommended ordering a 1/2 size up). I usually wear a 6 in sandals and heels and a 6 1/2 in shoes I wear a sock with, like boots and athletic shoes. I got a 6 1/2 in these and can wear a thin sock comfortably.
Even though I’m about 5 feet tall, they are easy to both walk and sit in. I can bend my knee to sit in these and some of the other ones I couldn’t. And they aren’t all the way up my thighs! This pair also comes in black leather and grey suede. The heel height is 3 1/2 inches, which I like because it gives me height, but isn’t too tall for walking in. Bottom line- MUST HAVE!!!
FIT – Caslon Addison Wedge Bootie: I actually got a half size down in these (size 6) but if I was going to wear a thicker sock, I’d say they are TTS. They are very comfy, with soft cushiony inside. They just feel great on my foot.
FIT – Vince Camuto Kathleen Bootie: These booties are the coolest! I’m crazy for the peep toe and side u-cutout. They look good with jeans, but even better with shorts, skirts and dresses! They fit TTS and feel good, even with the higher heel.
FIT – Steve Madden Claara Sandal: How perfect is this color?! Such a gorgeous nude, but looks like sizes are limited. The black and navy are super chic too! I got a size 6, which is what I normally wear in heels, so I’d say they are TTS. The material is very soft and the ankle strap is comfortable.
I definitely wanted to check out the coats and jackets since they are marked down so low right now. Houston doesn’t get super cold so we didn’t get a huge selection of winter wear in our store, but I did find some great ones in stock and there are more online.
These Grey jeans were featured in the catalog and I found them in my store, but only in size 24, so I squeezed into them! The 25 (my regular size) would’ve fit better. They did feel thin and like they might not last too long after lots of washes, you’d probably have to be careful with them
Oh, this sweater was super soft and cozy! It’s the kind of shirt you want to snuggle up with a hot latte. Would be really cute with black jeans. It comes in solid colors too if the stripes feel too much.
The pants I knew I had to have as soon as I put them on! They are so genuinely soft and comfortable and don’t pull or gap in any weird places! They look professional, but aren’t at all stuffy and you feel like you can b r e a t h e in them! They are kind of like work-style leggings. After you get them, come back and tell me how much you love them! I called the seamstress in right away so I could get a couple inches taken off the length (I rolled them under in the photo). I’m gonna say size down in them because I was a 0P.
