Wear to Work | Skinny Pants

I clearly remember when I worked in an office the struggle of deciding what to wear each morning. Outfit planning for the week on Sunday night made it better, but I didn’t always make time to do that. And the struggle is real to find a decent pair of quality, well-fitting pants!  Pants were the go-to because you could wear them with almost anything, dress them up for meetings or down for a more casual look.

Being petite presents its own set of challenges, so I used to shop LOFT’s petite section for pants and wouldn’t have to alter the length (they also come in regular and tall).  The ‘Marisa’ trousers were perfect because they have a straight leg silhouette, with a comfortable mid-rise, narrow at the hips and thigh.

EXPRESS was also good (the Editor & Columnist), but they were on the thinner side (order “short” for petite frames). But, I always loved my work pants from Banana Republic because I always found their quality to be better and those pants lasted a long time.

I was on the hunt again for a good pant I could run around in when I was tired of jeans or dress up for dinners and school functions, and came across the Sloat-Fit Skinny Pants.  They  are a mid-rise, ankle length pant that’s fitted through the hip and thigh- which is why I call them the “Skinny Pants”.  They come is so many fun colors and patterns now too.

FIT:  I ordered a red pair in size 2P and a black pair in 0P. When they arrived, I couldn’t even get the black 0P on, but the 2P in the red fit perfectly! I’m 5’1, about 108 pounds.

I’m assuming the 2P would fit the same in black, so I’m going to exchange them, but for today I’m showing you the red pair.  And now I’m tempted to get the fuschia for Spring or a fun printed pair.

For winter, you can’t go wrong with black and white with red, and this 3/4 slouchy turtleneck tee is soft with perfect stripes!

It makes getting ready and facing the workday that much better when you have a cute outfit to wear! Am I right ladies?!  Since I don’t work in a traditional office anymore, these pants are great for weekends or school functions when I want something as comfy as jeans, but I want it to seem like I put a little more effort into my outfit.

These are great! I've been feeling the need to step up my game a bit. As a stay home mom, jeans are perfectly fine, but I think I need to mix it up.

It's nice to have options. I stay home now too, but I love wearing heels! And I love that I don't have to wear them all day!! 😉

A few years ago BR had a style that fit me so well. I had several pairs – and then I think the styling changed. I tried on the pink pants at BR on Tuesday and they fit but the pockets showed in the front. That bugs me sometimes – especially because these were "nicer" pink pants and not Saturday-run-around pants in a fun color. How are the pockets on these?

Love the Banana Republic Sloan pants!!! I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant and instead of switching to maternity pants, I've been wearing my Sloans with a belly band. Can't seem to give them up yet! Wish Banana had maternity wear 🙁
