Weekend Steals & Deals | January Outfit Round-Up & Winter Sales Galore
Yay! We’ve made it to Friday! The weeks are dragging on and on over here, but each Monday marks another week of our pregnancy and we’ll be at 35 weeks on Monday! I’ve been wanting to do a big maternity style round-up post (you can check out the Mix & Match Maternity wardrobe post here), so I’ve been taking quick OOTD snaps on the days I manage to make it out of my soft pants (non-maternity), which I happen to be wearing right now as I type this post. 😉 When I put all the January pics into one post, I was impressed at how many times I pulled it together for school events, PTO meetings, errands, lunch dates, doctor’s appointments, and even a date night! Or just because I didn’t want to feel/look like crap. So, even though my comprehensive maternity-style post isn’t quite ready yet (that will be full of outfits for every trimester), I’m hoping my round-up of outfits from this last month gives you some outfit ideas of your own! Can you believe we’ll be in February already on Monday?!

Much of my wardrobe is still trying to make non-maternity tops work, with lots of mixing and matching those few bottoms that actually fit and feel good. As I get further along in my pregnancy, leggings are what I find myself reaching for most often, but hey, you don’t need to pull the pregnancy card to get away with them. Isn’t everyone wearing leggings this time of year?! These ultra wide waistband leggings seem to have the consensus on most comfy and long-lasting.

I’m still in love with stripes, especially when they’re black and white and paired with a bit of leopard. I’ve been wearing this combo a lot and have some other ways to show you, hopefully next week. And keep scrolling to the bottom for links to a few favorite pair of leopard shoes.

This denim-on-denim look with a grey tank might be my favorite outfit of the month. It’s my comfort-zone with neutrals, simple accessories, and a bit of leopard on my feet. I didn’t think I could pull off denim-on-denim, but if you keep the weights and colors different, it looks cool, not 90s sitcom bad. By the way, these Luxe Essentials maternity jeans have been a favorite, and Macy’s currently has them Buy 1, get the 2nd half-off.

We haven’t had many date nights here lately, but last weekend we got Grandma to babysit and went to La Table and it was fantastic! How long did you wait once baby was born to go out on a couples-only date night?! I think it was just a few weeks with our son. I remember it felt nice to actually get dressed and do my hair and makeup.

A favorite cold-weather combo is winter white and after trying on every white pair of maternity jeans in Houston (no easy task when you’re 52 weeks pregnant), I finally found two great pair of white maternity jeans- one is Paige denim, a splurge, and the other is A Pea in the Pod – currently on sale $49.99 (size 27 for me now) (but I don’t have any pics of those yet). I like both of them a ton. My favorite white jeans (non-maternity) are these.
I ended up mixing and matching white jeans with different tops, shoes and accessories.

Houston weather is known for being indecisive, and we’ve had some particularly sunny and pleasant days in January. This floral maternity top went perfectly with my jade green accessories and I actually wore wedges! If only for a short time!

And then we blink, and it’s cold and windy again! I’m trying to make the most out of what I already have in my closet, so my non-maternity jean jackets, coats, and puffer vests are all doing their best to stay on this mama!

We’re nowhere near getting this coat buttoned, but it still provided warmth and it looks stylish. My ivory Laundry peacoat is a few years old, but Macy’s carries the newer version and it’s on sale (originally $325, now $149.99 with an extra 15% off with code WKND). It also comes in navy or red. The newer version is nice with a zippered detail on the bottom in lieu of a belt.
I found several more coats on sale (at the bottom of this post), if you need one, now is a great time to get one since they’re on big-time sale.

When you need extra warmth, but not necessarily a full coat, the puffer vest comes in really handy. Mine is from Old Navy – they have great prices on them and they’ve held up a couple of years already.

I always have to tell you when my favorite Zella Z5 workout shirt goes on sale too! It’s normally $32 (and worth it), but currently on sale 40% off, $19.20 and they have 7 colors, in all sizes. Pre-pregnancy, I wore size XS, but that was pretty fitted. Size up for a looser fit. The Zella hooded pullover is also 40% off, if you prefer long sleeves right now.
leopard shoes
If you want to add some edge to almost any outfit, just add leopard print. And it doesn’t have to be in large doses, just a bit on your feet will make your outfit instantly chic. I have the Yosi Samra flats and they are my favorite ballet slippers. The wedges are great too, when you want in-between a flat and a heel. Cute with jeans and pants or dresses and skirts!

Laughing so hard at "52 weeks pregnant." I went 10 days past due date with my first, and still had to be induced. Feeling your pain.
