Lucite & Gold Cabinet Hardware

Finally, the last little thing that needed to be checked off my To Do list has been completed in the nursery – the lucite and gold cabinet hardware is installed!  I searched high and low for these babies and found them on Lux Holdups Etsy shop.  And now they are doing their job, making our built-in cabinet doors and drawers both functional and gorgeous!

When I first shared our nursery with you, everything was complete, but the gorgeous hardware had yet to be installed.  Those kinds of things happen when you’re trying to make a 6-week deadline for the One Room Challenge. 😉 The cabinets looked great anyway, but I was anxious to put the jewelry on them!
For the two sets of cabinet doors, I went with the 3/4 inch polished brass and lucite pulls with crown posts.  Because these pulls are custom ordered, I was able to measure the perfect length for our doors and chose 5 inches long.  Our cabinet maker was kind enough to measure and drill the holes for me to make sure they lined up perfectly straight and even.

These beauties are just what I was looking for to add that bit of sophistication and luxe to the room.

They shipped promptly and I’ve had them for awhile, but the screws they came with were just about 1/4-inch too long for the width of our doors, so there was that pesky little errand to run that I just got around to.

For the posts, you can specify crown or straight – I went with crown because I thought the detail with the crown looked a little more special.

For the two wide drawers under the bench seat, I used two 3/4-inch diameter, 12-inch long pulls. I figured one long pull centered in the middle of the drawer would be a pretty look, yet still be functional.

I know these pulls are pricier than many other cabinet pulls I could have went with (especially for a baby’s room!), but I’m thinking long-term and this baby girl will definitely be trading rooms with mama in a couple years!
Our house has two bedrooms that share a Jack-and-Jill bath down the hall, but those rooms are currently our son’s room and my office.  I see down the road that James and his sister will be using those bedrooms and sharing the bath, and I’ll be moving my office to this room! #luckyme #ofcourseIplanneditthatway! 😉 The built-ins were a splurge in this room, so I didn’t want to just put pulls on that I’d want to replace in a few years anyway.  These will be here for the long haul.

Even though I’m only 28 weeks along and our baby girl isn’t due for 12 more weeks, you can bet I’m breathing a sigh of relief that this nursery is complete and I don’t have to be designing a nursery with a newborn when I’m sleep deprived and cranky!
You can see the entire nursery here and the original nursery design plan here (it changed quite a bit)! Now all we need is a name!

  1. I can see why you picked them if you intend for that room to become your office. Is there a reason you didn't make the switch now? I am thinking that room is closer to your bedroom?

  2. They are stunning!!! I know it's got to feel amazing to have her room DONE! Do you sit in there every night and dream of the day she makes you guys a family of four??? xoxoxo

  3. Megan, that hardware is gorgeous! The crowning jewels of the cabinets! It is a beautiful nursery. So so nice to have the room all done and now just waiting for baby girl to arrive.
