Best Inexpensive Fresh Flower

It’s got to be carnations!  I love having fresh cut flowers in my home, but don’t like paying big bucks for them, especially when they die after just a few days.  These carnations (in varying shades of violet) seriously last forever!  They are the SAME ones I posted about here.  10-12 days later and, although a few wilted and had to be tossed, the majority of them still look great!  See . . . paper 027 Isn’t it just great to see some fresh flowers at your kitchen sink?  Makes doing dishes a bit cheerier:) paper 029        Do tell, what flower have you found that really lasts?

  1. I love the fresh flower look too, but do tell your secret to keeping them alive!! Food? Changing the water? Help! No matter what, mine always seem to die within a week :/

  2. Lindsay- I don't do anything to keep these babies alive! That's the thing- I sometimes add more water if I see it's getting low, but really they are that low maintenance:)

  3. I totally agree! I would buy a bouquet of these about every 2 weeks in college to brighten up my dorm and they would last forever! I like the purple though, I've never seen them in that shade of violet. Love them (:
