1900 square feet

That’s the approximate square footage of our townhouse.  On the first floor is a half bath, office, and the washing machine and dryer–not very convenient when both bedrooms are on the third floor.  The second floor contains the living room, dining room and kitchen.  We’ve made the best of our little first home and here are some pics to remember her by:

Jimmy chose the green paint (Boxwood by Ralph Lauren) when we were still in the early dating phase, and, since it was his house, I didn’t put up too much of a fight. I’ve come to really dislike it because there isn’t much light in the dining room and kitchen and the dark paint makes it that much darker. I’ve been craving a light, bright space.  As you’ll see shortly, in our new house, we’ve went the complete opposite direction with a white! kitchen. Can’t wait to show you..

I love the gray paint we I chose.  My husband has now confided in me that he’s color blind!  It’s genteel gray by Pratt & Lambert.  It’s soothing and not too light or dark.  The bedding is from Macy’s Hotel Collection (wedding gift).  Bed- Z Gallerie, Lamps- Target.

What white did you go with in the new house? I love finding out about new whites…

It is white cabinets, white subway tile, and carerra marble. swoon:) The island wood has been stained dark brown to add some balance and we have dark hardwood floors. It's still in progress but I think its going to turn out very lovely. I scoured the design blogs for my inspiration. I'm anxiously awaiting your next post:)
