Jean Skirt | Weekend

Hello friends!  Happy hump day and halfway through the week! It’s actually a super short week here with only 3 school days and off and Monday too, so we’re looking at a long 5-day Easter break. Jordan has already been playing with the faux eggs and basket and tomorrow I’m going to show you some fun ways to decorate your Easter eggs this year.  That’s always a fun thing to do with the kiddos.
For today, we’re continuing to dress this little denim miniskirt one more way (see a date night look and dress casual look here), and this one is one of my faves, with a great v-neck white tee and fun Spring booties.

To recap on the fit of skirt, it’s TTS, I’m wearing the 0.  It’s mini-style, so very short, but you can get a similar look with a longer version or wear boy shorts underneath so you won’t feel self-conscious. You definitely don’t want to get in a RHOBH situation with pantygate! #TeamErikaJayne

For this easy going look, I threw on one of my favorite white v-neck tees.  It’s great because the tee has a slimming cut that dips slightly in at the waist, but isn’t at all snug.  It runs big, so size down, I’m in XXS.  It comes in other colors and I’m partial to my grey one too.  If you aren’t crazy for a jean skirt, this top is perfect with jeans or shorts also.   It’s definitely on repeat over here.

Of course, I’m wearing the tee with my very favorite Perfect T-Shirt bra, the one I raved about here. Some of you have actually gotten it too and let me know you also love it too.  Thanks for letting me, I love hearing from you!  A good t-shirt bra is worth it’s weight in gold, right?!
That bra does show some through this tee because the t-shirt material is thin, but it wasn’t enough to bother me or keep me from wearing it.  In almost any white tee, your bra may show through a bit in certain light and angles.

I did a mini front tuck with the tee and left the u-shape back exposed for a laid back look and also so you could see how long it is.

Aren’t these Spring open toe booties fun?!  I’m crazy for them and love them with jeans, other skirts and dresses too.  The heel is pretty high, so if you aren’t comfortable walking in high heels, you might not be a fan of these.  The chunkier block heel does make them easier to walk in though.

The booties have a faux lace up front with a cool cage design, but zip up in the back, so they’re easy to get on and off.  My true lace up heels are kind of a pain to get on and off, but not these. I’m wearing the color “sand castle leather”, but they also come in a burnt umber and warm taupe or black (also 15% off).

I doubled up on delicate necklaces because I like that layered effect.  My gold bar necklace is a simple piece that I wear all the time and the long Kendra Scott necklace was a Christmas gift from my sis-n-law this year.  #thankyou!! They make a nice pair so you have an accent up at your neck and also down into the tee.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this style series!  It’s fun for me to get creative with the things in my closet and I love sharing them with you!  If you have a fashion dilemma or need advice on how to style something in your closet, shoot me an email (honeywerehomeblog@gmail.com) or leave me a comment and I can do a post about it!

  1. Megan, I did purchase the bras and undies after reading your post. Love both. And, my sales associate too said how popular they are.
I love a good tee. I actually found some similar at Target! Love that they aren't expensive so I don't feel bad if I get something on them. And let's face it, white tees really only last a season.

    1. Hi Lauren, I'm happy to hear those bras and undies worked out for you! I need to get more of the undies so I don't have to wash as often! I haven't been going to Target as often anymore, need to stop by their women's dept next time!

  2. Very cute! My favorite are the shoes!
I saw your IG story and almost cried for you. The emotion and disappointment was written all over your face. I am so sorry. I'm sure you miss your dad so much. XO lynn

    1. Oh thank you for that. It was emotional at the end when you realize that's it. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. We really do miss him so much.
