New Fall Home Decor

New Fall Home Decor

Hi friend!  I’m loving this time of year when Spring starts turning to Fall. Although it’s still pretty hot here, I can feel that Fall is in the air with the familiar routine of back to school, sports starting again and the return of pumpkin spice everything.  Last night it was downright pleasant outside!

Slowly but surely I’ve been adding some Fall decor touches to our home and I’m loving how it’s warming things up!  Today, I’m partnering with Walmart and I can’t wait to share some new decor I added to my house recently.

You might remember I freshened up my son’s room with new bedding from Walmart’s Gap Home line,

Our Spring Decor & Easy Easter Table

Our Spring Decor & Easy Easter Table

Hi friends! Happy Friday!  I’m so ready to welcome the weekend!  This week after Spring Break has been go, go, go!  I’m ready to slow down and savor the weekend.  It’s another one with nothing on the agenda, and I relish those!

Most of the time our lives are so busy, filled with to-do’s and activities and commitments.  We need that ‘white space’ so we can have time to be still, to ponder, to sleep!

I’ve had a mild headache for the last several days, and I think some extra sleep will really do me good this weekend!

Hi friends! How are y’all doing?  February is a fun, busy month for us because we have Valentine’s Day, Jordan’s birthday, and then two days later, my own birthday! I can’t believe Jordan will be 5 this month!

My friend Tisha sent me these photos when they popped up on her timeline and I want to do an updated version.  They are from when she turned one and had a garden party birthday.  I’m so thankful to Tisha for capturing these!

This year, Jordan wants a unicorn birthday party,

Good morning friends!  It’s the start of a fresh, new week and I’m excited about it!  I started rereading Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy this weekend and it always motivates me to GSD!  If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it!  It’s a quick, easy read and full of practical advice that you can begin implementing right away to start changing your life for the better!  There’s even a version for students if you have a high schooler or college age kid.

Today, we’re looking forward to Valentine’s Day with 5 cute outfits.

Merry Christmas to You!

Merry Christmas to You!

Hi friends!  Merry Christmas Eve! We’re all cozied up and definitely feeling like holiday mode over here.  We’re moving slow, but super excited for Christmas tomorrow.

This year hasn’t been anything we could have expected or prepared for, but we made it!  Getting to connect here with you is a big part of what helped get me through.

I try to always look on the bright side and be a positive spot in your day, but it’s also good to acknowledge that this year has been really tough.  You helped keep my ‘normal’ going and I love to you pieces for that!

Our Christmas Dining Room

Our Christmas Dining Room

Hi friends!  I’m so happy y’all liked seeing our annual Favorite Things as much as I did!  I really hope the Christmas in July party happens! We’ve actually been talking about doing that for a couple of years, so now that we had to skip getting together this month, hopefully it’s on for the summer!

Yesterday, Jordan had a case of the Mondays, and I let her stay home with me.  It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes a 4 year-old just needs a little extra home time. We decorated our dining room and Rhonda popped in and came snapped some pics for us!

Our Favorite Things Party 2020

Our Favorite Things Party 2020

One of the highlights of my year is our annual Favorite Things partyAli-Shaun and I started hosting it a few years ago and it’s grown into an annual tradition that all of us look forward to every year.  And we talk about it ’til the next year!

Most of us met when our kids started preschool together and now those kids are in 5th grade!  We are such a tight knit group and it’s been so fun to watch our kids grow up together.  Over the years, we’ve celebrated each other’s triumphs and successes and lifted each other up during the hard times.

Come Inside, Our Christmas Home Tour!

Hi friends!  Happy Friday!  I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.  I have a few plans, including house chores, shopping, and I want to start wrapping too.  The house projects include doing paint touch ups in my office, James’ room and bathroom, and in the playroom.  It’s one of those things that’s been on my to-do list forever, and I’m finally ready to tackle it!  I already patched the holes, now I just need to paint.

If you missed it this week, I shared a brand new Amazon post with the cutest Christmas shirts (and best Cyber Monday sales),

Hi friends!  Happy first day of December!!  24 days until Christmassssss!!!

I hope your week is off to a great start!  I made sure to schedule my workouts for the week since I feel like I need a major detox after all the Thanksgiving weekend indulgences!  Yesterday, I did 50 minutes on the treadmill at a slow pace and high incline.  I like doing that because it’s a great workout – gets your heart rate up and works the legs and booty- AND I can chat with y’all on Instagram DM while I do it!

Did you score some good deals this weekend?

Hi friends!  Happy Friday!  How has your week been?  It’s been such a blur here, but in the best way!  I’m most excited for the Christmas card pictures we got of the kids this week!  Praise the Lord everyone cooperated (with candy cane bribes, of course) and the pictures are the sweeeeeetest!  I can’t wait to share them with you!  This weekend, I’ll be preparing for Thanksgiving (just a small get together with my family) and getting more things done around the house.  What’s on your agenda?

If you missed it this week, I shared an easy DIY Charcuterie Board,

Create Your Own Trader Joe’s Charcuterie Board

Create Your Own Trader Joe’s Charcuterie Board

Good morning friends!  How was your weekend?  The most exciting thing that happened here was my washing machine arrived.  I ordered it in August!  Can you believe it took so long to get here?!

TRADER JOE’S CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Today, I’m sharing a combo Trader Joe’s haul/charcuterie board.  I love putting together a board for weekend afternoons, easy dinners or for entertaining.  There’s really no wrong or right way to do it- just assembling the things you enjoy nibbling on is perfect!  It’s fun to arrange all the items into a colorful display of edible art.

WHAT’S ON A CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Below are the delicious bites that appear on most charcuterie boards:

Cured meats
Cheese
Olives
Nuts
Dried Fruit
Crackers or baguette bread
Jelly or jam

And the good thing is,

Christmas Candles & Holiday Decor

Christmas Candles & Holiday Decor

Hello friends!  How’s your week going?  I’m already looking forward to the weekend and doing more holiday decorating.  Half of the lights on my garland gave out, so I’ve got new ones on the way!

Jordan and I will be decorating the darling little Christmas tree in her room this weekend, and I’m also hoping to get my bedroom Christmas tree decorated too!  Most of the living room is holiday ready and I did a mix of white, green and gold in there.

One thing I love to do each night is light candles.

Two Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Two Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Good morning friends!  Welcome to a brand new week!  We had a wonderful weekend and totally unplugged on Saturday.  I packed up the kiddos and we went to Galveston for the day.  It’s an easy trip since it’s just an hour car ride away.  The weather was cooler than I expected, but we still really enjoyed it.

It’s kind of funny how when we first got there I had a bit of an uneasy feeling like “well, what are we going to do for the next several hours??” We only had a couple of sand toys and boogie boards and the water was chilly.

Easter Online | March Best Sellers & Rewind

Hello friends!  Yesterday kicked off a brand new month, and I have officially decided it’s time to ACCEPT my new normal, instead of resisting it. Like we were talking about yesterday, I had to stop and pause to take everything in. So much of our normal daily life has been interrupted, so it takes time to wrap your head around it and process the change.

Now, I’m choosing to EMBRACE this time and am learning how to adjust.  Like anyone who has young kids at home, it’s been really challenging for me to work and also to know what I should be sharing.

Valentine’s Day | All on Prime

Hi friends! How was your weekend? It was our first basketball game of the season and our team won!  What a great start to the season!  Yesterday, after church was a birthday party for one of Jordan’s friends (thankfully, she’s on the mend) and she had so much fun seeing her friends after missing three days of school last week!

Sunday night, I didn’t feel like it, but I did all those Sunday evening things that set the week up for success – clean kitchen, laundry, lunch prep, fridge clean out & making a plan for the week.
