Even as a work-from-home mom, I make an effort to get myself ready and put on something cute for the day! It not only makes me more productive, it helps me feel better about myself! I’m often mixing and matching things from my closet or wearing jean shorts on repeat during the summer, but every month I do a round-up of what I wore, my Outfits Lately, in an effort to provide you some wardrobe inspiration of your own.
Happy weekend friends! I hope you have the best weekend chillin’ with your family and friends! Shannon and I are kicking off the weekend with some super fun plans that involve my boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. He’s performing in Houston tonight and we were lucky to get tickets courtesy of Verizon Up! Can’t stop the feelin . . . . . !!!! Join us tonight on Stories for some behind the scenes peeks!
Then we’ll be heading to Lost Pines on Saturday for some family fun. I’m definitely looking forward to relaxing in the sun with a big,
Hello friends and Happy Friday! What a whirlwind week it’s been! Monday was a day off school for us, so it was a short week with lots to accomplish!
Poor Jordan got pink eye and I had to run her to the doctor at rush hour, but thankfully she’s doing much better! Yesterday, our bedroom got a fresh coat of paint to lighten up the room and have it coordinate better with our new wallpaper! I don’t have good pictures to show you yet, but I will next week!
Good morning sunshine! Happy Friday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? If you happen to be in Houston, I would love to meet you at the At Home decor store tomorrow morning! I’ll be at this location from 9 AM to noon with Ashley and Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic.
I got to meet them years ago at a blogging conference and it’s so amazing to see how they’ve grown their blog and brand over the years. Now they’ve designed a chic farmhouse collection exclusively for At Home which is such a dream come true,
I think we are finally out of what has been 20-year record low temps for us in Houston! We had two days where it actually snowed!, but unfortunately for the kids, most of it only stuck to the roofs! School was out for two days with a bonus day for MLK day, so it’s been 5 days of vacation with everyone starting to go stir crazy! Not to mention the scary icy roads! As much as we look forward to some respite from our typical hot and humid weather, this freezing weather hasn’t been all that fun! This weekend I’m hoping to nail down some of the details for Jordan’s second birthday party.
Hello friends! I must admit I’m a little bit in awe that Christmas is in just a few days and 2018 is right on it’s heels! Where did this year go?! Every year seems to fly by, but this one especially seems to have gone super quick! I think it’s because Jordan is going from 1 to 2 and that brings so many changes so fast! You guys should hear her talking up a storm now! She’s stringing words together and it’s the cutest thing! I’ll have to capture it on Stories so you can hear her adorable little toddler voice!
And now the countdown is on to Thanksgiving! We’re hosting a luncheon for our deserving teachers today and I’ll be volunteering in James’ 2nd grade classroom while the teachers take a load off and enjoy some good food. I’m happy to do it and the kids are so good, so I’m sure I’ll survive! I really give huge props to all the teachers out there. They do so much for our kids and I know they don’t always get the credit they deserve. Then, James is off school for a week!!! so I’m thinking we’ll get on with our Christmas decorating and go to the zoo- I don’t think Jordan has ever been!
Hi friends! Y’all have no idea how happy I am that we made it to Friday!! That Project OneWay fashion show was looming over my head and it was such a fantastic relief to enter the weekend having it over with and successful!! The event was last night and I was all nerves beforehand, but the audience was amazing and it went so well and ended up being super fun! Of course, I’m exhausted today, but it was worth it! I’ve been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone with these types of speaking events, because I actually do enjoy them once I get going!
Hello from the Big Apple! I’m so excited to be back in the city and have enjoyed every minute so far! The BH&G event was gorgeous and the best part was seeing all the friends I don’t get to see in person unless we get together at events like this. Today, we’re heading out on a food tour and I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to that- especially the Italian fare! Then, it’s onto a show and dinner before catching an early flight home tomorrow. I will be sure to do a detailed recap of everything soon,
We made it to the end of the week friends! And over here it’s been crazy because we’re preparing for Hurricane Harvey to hit Houston. Schools are now closed Friday and Monday. I really hope everyone stays safe and it ends up being much ado about nothing. But, we all remember Hurricane Ike and losing power for 10 days and that was a nightmare! Fingers crossed and prayers being sent up!
Also, I messed up publishing my Day 2 recap of our New Orleans trip yesterday and accidentally back-published it for last Monday! I’m not sure how that happened,
Woo hoo for Friday! Now that we’re almost at the end of July, I’m suddenly realizing just how little is left of our summer break. James goes back to school in a little over 2 weeks! Nooooooo! I’m so not ready for that, so I’m definitely gonna milk these last couple weeks! When do your kids go back to school?
And here we are back to Friday already! That Tuesday 4th of July made for an interesting week, but I’m not complaining that we are back to the weekend again! And we have nothing on the agenda, which is always nice! Last weekend, I went through and organized all of Jordan’s clothes, cleaned out her closet and added some decorative touches, so I want to share that with you next week! But other than that, maybe we will just hang out at the pool if I can drag James out of the house! He’s such a homebody, he never wants to leave!
Happy weekend friends! I’m ready for it! How about you? If you missed Jimmy’s Father’s Day recommendations, definitely go read it! He’s been loving all the extra attention and, he doesn’t know it yet, but I just ordered him #9 and I’m gonna put a bunch of #10 in it! I can’t wait to see the expression on his face when he opens it!
And if it’s heating up in your part of the world and you need a new swimsuit, I did a big try-on and review for you here, so I hope that is helpful!
Happy Friday loves! What’s on your agenda for the weekend? We have Field Day at school today and then a birthday party and of course . . . Mother’s Day!!! I’m hoping for a nice brunch or lunch out on Sunday and we’ll also be celebrating my own mom. She is seriously the best and it’s so good to get to have her around here more often!
Hey, hey, hey and Happy Friday!! Do you have fun Easter plans? We’ll be getting together with our family on Sunday and it’s always so fun with little ones running around!
Today is Outfits Lately, a big ‘ole round up of what I’ve been wearing lately. If you want more everyday outfit inspiration, I post my daily outfits on Instagram, which is what I’m rounding up for you here today. These aren’t professionally styled photos, just selfies ? sharing my attempts to get out of jean shorts (it happens sometimes!) and get creative with the things in my closet. You can always shop my instagrams without LikeToKnowIt by clicking the picture on my blog right sidebar or the SHOP tab at the top of my blog under INSTAGRAM.
Yay for Friday and our quick trip to Magnolia Market in Waco! I’ve wanted to go check it out for soooo long and since we’re only about 3 hours away, it’s about time we went! We’ll be celebrating “Spring at the Silos”, along with 10,000 of our best friends, I’m sure! I’m a little nervous about how much we’ll get to enjoy with all the crowds and Jordan in tow, but I bet everyone else feels the same way! We’ll all just be happy to be there finally! I’ll be sure to keep you posted on my Stories and share a recap when we get back.
Yay we made it to Friday!! Some weeks just feel like that, right?! And we are in the thick of it with kid sports and activities with our son. He wants to do it all and we have to be the ones to set the limits, but it’s easier said than done. Do any of you experience that too?
I know my husband loves coaching sports and all the awesome community of other parents/kids and the father/son bonding aspect, but it sure makes for a lot when James is also in Karate and rehearsing for the school play.
Has this been a whirlwind week or what?! I nearly had a panic attack realizing how close Christmas is and wanting to make sure we get Christmas gifts for the kids! James only had a few things on his wish list, including an iPhone7 and gaming computer. ? He’s 6! Not gonna happen, but a kid can dream. He also had other things like Nerf gun and the book, United Jokes of America, so it’s a start!
Between the teacher gifts, school parties, white elephant adult party, work party, and baking, wrapping, decorating, I’ve been hustling this week to get things done because we all know,
What a crazy week this was having Halloween on a Monday this year! It sure was fun though with a 6-year old who was super into being JJ Watt and a baby Snow White, who loved her first wagon ride! Then, the next day, James got to be St. James at church for All Saints Day. He took his role very seriously and we couldn’t have been more proud.
