Yay for Friday and our quick trip to Magnolia Market in Waco! I’ve wanted to go check it out for soooo long and since we’re only about 3 hours away, it’s about time we went! We’ll be celebrating “Spring at the Silos”, along with 10,000 of our best friends, I’m sure! I’m a little nervous about how much we’ll get to enjoy with all the crowds and Jordan in tow, but I bet everyone else feels the same way! We’ll all just be happy to be there finally! I’ll be sure to keep you posted on my Stories and share a recap when we get back.View Post
Even as a work-from-home mom, I make an effort to get myself ready and put on something cute for the day! It not only makes me more productive, it helps me feel better about myself! I’m often mixing and matching things from my closet or wearing jean shorts on repeat during the summer, but every month I do a round-up of what I wore, my Outfits Lately, in an effort to provide you some wardrobe inspiration of your own.
Yay we made it to Friday!! Some weeks just feel like that, right?! And we are in the thick of it with kid sports and activities with our son. He wants to do it all and we have to be the ones to set the limits, but it’s easier said than done. Do any of you experience that too?
I know my husband loves coaching sports and all the awesome community of other parents/kids and the father/son bonding aspect, but it sure makes for a lot when James is also in Karate and rehearsing for the school play.View Post
Has this been a whirlwind week or what?! I nearly had a panic attack realizing how close Christmas is and wanting to make sure we get Christmas gifts for the kids! James only had a few things on his wish list, including an iPhone7 and gaming computer. ? He’s 6! Not gonna happen, but a kid can dream. He also had other things like Nerf gun and the book, United Jokes of America, so it’s a start!
Between the teacher gifts, school parties, white elephant adult party, work party, and baking, wrapping, decorating, I’ve been hustling this week to get things done because we all know,View Post
What a crazy week this was having Halloween on a Monday this year! It sure was fun though with a 6-year old who was super into being JJ Watt and a baby Snow White, who loved her first wagon ride! Then, the next day, James got to be St. James at church for All Saints Day. He took his role very seriously and we couldn’t have been more proud.
And even though we’re looking forward to Thanksgiving now (just did the group text menu planning with the ladies in the fam),View Post
Happy weekend friends! I’m finishing up this post in the Big Apple and even though I lost it leaving Jordan, now I’m so glad I came and excited because we still have one full day to explore the city! Today we’re doing our food tour and seeing Waitress and then a super late dinner. I’ll definitely let you know how everything was in case you’re ever in NYC and want to try either. I’ve been trying to Snap or InstaStory (@honeywerehome) while I’m here so you can share in what we’re doing. It feels like being a universe away from home,View Post
Woo hoo, we’re halfway to the weekend again! So far, this summer has been both fun and also exhausting! I know I just posted about getting Jordan to sleep through the night, so that has given me more sleep lately, but the days still feel so loooong! It’s hard to keep up with these kiddos! This is why they say it’s best to have your kids when you are young!
I took Jordan to her 4 month doctor appointment in this nursing friendly dress and then wore it to dinner later in the week. It’s soft material like a tee-shirt and comes in 3 colors.View Post
Hi friends! Happy Friday!! I think we’re really settling into our summer groove now and I’m excited to share some cheap or FREE things you can do with your kiddos this summer next week. I was nervous about being home alone with two kids (one a baby!) this summer, but my friend Melissa (with three kids and one a little younger than Jordan!) has given me new confidence about how much fun you can have with two! I was talking to her about all the things they’d been doing and I was all, if they can do it, I bet we could too.View Post
Hi guys! I’m so glad you liked my Meal Prep post! Especially with summer around, I find that it’s best to have things on hand to throw meals together quickly and if they help our waistline, even better! I did a snapchat video on it yesterday so you could see how quick it is to cook the chicken and TexMex ground beef. The video isn’t particularly pretty, but I cared more about just sharing the info with you! We are going to do more Blue Apron meals to mix it up, so I’ll share our next one with you when I get it.View Post
Man, is it Friday already?! This time last week, I was heading to Dallas to spend the day with my friends and was worrying if it was too soon to leave Jordan. She’ll be two months old already on Monday! It goes so fast, yet she’s still such a little baby. It might sound bad, but honestly, I felt comfortable heading out for the day, knowing that she was in good hands with my mom while my husband worked and then Grandma planned to stay until I got home. Maybe because she’s my second or maybe because I was really craving some girl time,View Post
I’m Hi guys! It’s a late night here getting this post up and out before I head to Dallas for a few hours tomorrow to see my girlfriends at a blogger style conference. I wasn’t originally planning on going since Jordan is only so little still. I figured it was out of the question. But, the more I thought about it, I figured I could make it work by just going for the day since it’s so close. I really didn’t want to miss the opportunity to see my friends that live in different states when they’d be practically in my backyard!View Post
Would you believe that baby Jordan is ONE month old today?! I really need to do a birth story post soon before I forget how she seemed like a tiny, little wet kitten when I first held her. So itty bitty and perfect and how I fell instantly in love and wept like a baby myself when they placed her on my chest. And, I want to share how it all happened, just like in the movies with my water breaking in the middle of the night and waking me up from sleep! But more on that soon! She is truly darling and I’m almost afraid to say it out loud,View Post
How has this first week after the Christmas holiday been for you? Not gonna lie, getting back into the groove again has been kinda tough, but also nice to get up and get going in our days again. Having the house all nice and clean and organized has been a huge help in starting this year off right.
We also started a new routine with our 5-year old son where he’s responsible for getting himself ready in the morning without any prompting from Mom or Dad (but with use of a chore chart) and we’ve had two great days,View Post
TGIF friends! This week has been busy, busy, busy and this mama needs a relaxing weekend for sure! We’ve got a little boy home from school today for teacher conferences, so let’s get this post published so we can be off to play! Today, I’m recapping some of my favorite Fall looks that will transition easily to winter that’s approaching soon. I heard someone on the Today show already counting down the days until Black Friday!! #canyoubelieve?!?!
FALL OUTIFTS LATELY
Tassel booties, lightweight sweaters and, when the weather cooperates, a colorful scarf are in heavy rotation around here!View Post
Hi friends! Are you getting all those last-minute Thanksgiving preparations done? Today, I’m cooking up some dishes to take to Thanksgiving brunch at my parents (sour cream coffee cake) and a late lunch at my sis-n-law’s house (jalepeno creamed corn, ham and cheese sliders, chile con queso). I feel stretchy pants coming on. 🙂 Then, we need to get a new Christmas tree- I pulled ours out and after 7 years, it’s finally seen it’s last day. Hopefully, you get a little time off to spend with your friends and family and a break from work! I’ve been home with my son this week,View Post
