Honey, We’re Engaged!
As if our trip to Mexico wasn’t wonderful enough, it ended in the best possible way. On our last night there, in an intimate, romantic dinner on the beach, Elliott proposed.
I was completely surprised and so, so happy! He was concerned I’d realize his plan, but nope! I had no idea!
After dinner, the waiter brought out a beautiful birthday cake that said, “you are extraordinary Megan.” I thought that was so special because, when Elliott and I met in February 2022, his Bumble profile said that, “he was at a point in his life where he was looking for something extraordinary.”
We’ve talked many times since then about that and what it means to both of us. We’ve been together for over two years and from our very first date, I knew that he was special, one-of-a-kind. I’ve always been so honored to get to be with a man of his caliber – he’s truly amazing.
Extraordinary.
Our kids and family are elated, so that’s definitely a bonus!
Jordan was a little disappointed that we are having a long engagement and that he won’t move in until after next summer when his daughter Abbi graduates high school.
James and Ali-Shaun are already playfully arguing over who’s planning the wedding. 🙂 James said he wants to make a speech and reminded me that he has experience as a ring bearer.
Elliott’s daughter jumped up and hugged him at the news. Isn’t that sweet?!
My family embraces him and our friends are over-the-moon excited for us. They know what we’ve been through and how happy and fulfilled we are together.
We are so blessed to have a second chance at love. It makes me even more grateful. And how funny that I wore this white sundress for the occasion?!
And the ring y’all! He did good! The ring is a series of four separate delicate bands – exactly the style I had in mind. I LOVE wearing it!
