Packing for a Caribbean Cruise
Hi friend! I hope you’re having a great week! Tomorrow, Elliott and I are heading out on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate my girlfriend Marianna’s 40th birthday! I’m so excited to get to spend the next four days with some of my favorite people!
This is a Royal Caribbean Cruise out of Galveston that spends 4 nights away, with one stop in Cozumel. I haven’t been on a cruise in over 20 years, so it’ll be an adventure.
Packing for a Caribbean Cruise
Today, I’m sharing what I’m packing for the cruise. I looked at the weather and it’s not too different from what we’re experiencing in Houston right now. Lows in the 70s and highs in the 80s, maybe with a chance of rain.
I’m proud of myself that I’m pretty well packed ahead of time- I hate scrambling at the last minute!

We have one “Caribbean” themed night and I’m bringing this sassy red dress! I’ve actually had it in my closet for over a year and haven’t worn it. I love how it drapes at the top and the rushed sides. It has a sexy front slit, balanced out with loose 3/4 length sleeves.
I’m wearing size XS.

I’m so happy to finally have the perfect occasion for this dress! And it could work for holiday too!

I’m also bringing several sundresses. They’ll be versatile enough for day or dinner. This one is a stretchy knit with tie spaghetti straps. I liked it so much that I bought it in two colors, this bold pink and also a pretty Kelly green.

This maxi dress is perfect for when you want to be totally non-bodycon. It’s loose and flowy, plus it has pockets.

I’m crazy for the style and pattern of this maxi dress. It has a smocked bodice and long skirt. Super flattering and easy to wear.

I love these sandals so much. They’re a perfectly chic strappy sandal with a lower heel. They go with everything.

Tank • Jean Shorts • Slides
Of course, I’m brining jean shorts and my favorite Loft tank. I have this one in almost every color.

Tank • Jean Shorts

Bodysuit • Pants • Sandals • Tote
These palazzo style pants do double duty as an outfit or coverup. The bodysuit is a great one because it’s fully lined, making it very flattering and opaque.

Swim CoverUp • Pants • Sandals
Beach or pool ready with this outfit!

Swim CoverUp • Pants

This is a cute mini dress style coverup with a lovely crochet detail. I like the long sleeves and it’s under $20!

Definitely brining this one piece swimsuit with me. I wore it in San Miguel and felt good in it. It has a removable belt and sits high on your hips, elongating your leg line.
I’m getting a spray tan before we go- hoping she can even out my runner’s tan lights. But if you’re looking for a good, self tanner, try this one. It’s a mousse, you can see where you’re applying it and gives great color.

Swimsuit • Pants • Hat • Sandals • Tote
And simply slip on the pants when you want to cover up.

Both on Amazon, packable and adjustable.

Coverup (Nordstrom) & CoverUp (at Amazon)
This coverup is a go-to from Nordstrom. It’s a comfortable gauzy tunic style with kangaroo pockets and a hoodie.

Henley Top • Vuori Joggers • Sneakers
Never leave home without Vuori joggers. These come in handy for traveling to and from and for relaxing while away. I wear mine all the time at home too.
The henley is from Amazon and is perfectly stretchy and comfy.

I love this brand of pajamas at Nordstrom. They feel great on your skin, are a great light weight and hold up through many machine washings. The print is super cute on this pair and they also come in a pants set.
For the “formal night” where we celebrate Marianna’s birthday, I’m bringing this dress that you saw in my LBD (many under $100) post. I just have to hem the bottom and I’m planning on doing the no-sew technique like I did on my drapes. Fingers crossed it works!
Also Packing
I’m also bringing a set of workout clothes and favorite leggings – even just for a casual stroll around the walking track. My soft bra always comes with as well as a good pair of jeans and a hoodie.
I still have to pack my toiletries, but I keep a set of items ready to go in my hanging toiletries bag, so that shouldn’t be too hard. I probably should pick up some Dramamine though, just in case.
We’re allowed to bring “limited non-perishable snacks”, so I’m definitely packing my Barebells Protien Bars. I’ve heard the ship has pretty good food, so fingers crossed!
I’m not sure how my wifi will be, so if I can’t share during the trip, I’ll be sure to report back when I get home.
