Good morning friends! We’re halfway to the weekend! And maybe a little more than halfway for those of you taking off Friday to get a start on your Memorial day weekend. I know I’m looking forward to it for sure!
Last week’s Dressing Room post was getting long, so I split it into two. Today, you’ll see more super cute things for Spring and Summer and I’m also highlighting some goodies from the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale that starts today! This is a great time to grab those Spring and Summer things you’ve been eyeing, but haven’t scooped up yet because they are marked down at least 40% off! With FREE shipping!
I get giddy when I find a jumpsuit that is unique and fits well. I found a few here that are both!
JUMPSUIT FIT : TTS, XS (it was tight in the chest for me, 34D)
The colors and shape of this fun striped jumpsuit drew me in right away. It’s flirty and fun and the color combo is unexpected with the navy, light blue and orange. I’ll be wearing this one with the nude strappy heels. If jumpsuits aren’t your thing, this pattern also comes in a midi dress.
I bought my jumpsuit at Nordstrom, but it quickly sold out. Luckily, I found it at Urban Outfitters. They offer FREE shipping over $50 and FREE returns.
JUMPSUIT FIT : TTS, 0P
For a classy, yet still fun jumpsuit, this navy eyelet fits the bill. I like the crop length and square neckline, and it’s actually crop length on me in petite sizing. Colorful heels look great for an added pop of color with this one.
JUMPSUIT FIT : Runs small, XS (it’s supposed to be cropped length, but on me at 5’1, it’s ankle length)
You’ll have to forgive the wrinkles on the jumpsuit. 😉 You guys know how much I love neutrals and this tan and stripe camisole jumpsuit is no exception. It’s got that paper bag waist that’s popular right now and it’s figure flattering for giving you the illusion of an hourglass shape. It looks like two pieces, but is actually one jumpsuit. Some women gave this one poor reviews for the side zipper getting stuck, but I didn’t have any problems with mine. I really liked this!
ROMPER FIT : TTS, XS
This little casual romper is something you can easily throw on for the weekend and feel casual and cute. It’s on the shorter side, but the high neckline balances it out and you have to see the criss-cross back with slight cutout! It’s under $50 too!
T-SHIRT FIT : TTS, XXS
You can’t have too many tees in the summer! I liked the pale blue and white stripes on this one with the fun twist back for a change.
SHORTS FIT : TTS, 00
You’ve seen me in these scallop shorts a bunch already, and I’m sure they’ll be going strong the rest of Spring and all Summer.
T-SHIRT FIT : Runs big, XXSP
Little details like flutter sleeves and ladder stitch trim make even a basic grey tee feel more special. This one feels great on and comes in 4 colors- I almost got the pink.
JEAN SHORTS FIT: TTS, wearing 24
This pair of jean shorts made my list of faves my recent Jean Shorts Review. They’re super comfortable and soft with plenty of stretch, a nice faded denim color and only a hint of distressing. You can unroll them from 3 inch inseam to 5 inch for a longer style.
TOP FIT : Runs small, XS. I’d like to size up to small to see if it would be a little longer.
We’re seeing lots of eyelet lately and it’s making an appearance in sleeves of this off-shoulder top. The wide elastic helps keep the shoulders in place, which is a bonus. There’s lots of colors to choose from. Of course, I’m wearing the best strapless bra with this top (the bra fits TTS).
SWEATSHIRT FIT : TTS, XSP
I’m all about a summer sweater or sweatshirt and jean shorts, but this one you can wear year round. Aren’t the tie sleeves a cute touch?! I didn’t think I’d like the floral pattern, but once I put it on, it quickly grew on me!
SWEATSHIRT FIT : TTS, XS
As much as I shop at Nordstrom, you know I had to get this sweatshirt! The inner prep in me loves the pink and green combo, but it comes in other colors and also looks great with a button down top layered underneath. I actually like to wear this outfit around the house with my pink flip flop slippers! They’re 40% off too!
TOP FIT : Rungs big, XXS
For a night out, this off-shoulder top is sexy without revealing too much. It’s sheer chiffon, but not see through. I gave it a mini front tuck, but you can also wear it loose and flowy. It comes in more colors and the ‘poppy petal’ coral sure is pretty!
TOP FIT : TTS, 2 US
This top didn’t look like much on the hanger, but on, it’s surprisingly flattering. The tie waist accentuates your figure, almost peplum style. The 3/4 sleeves are perfect for showing off some arm candy. In the back, there’s a small slit that would be sassy for showing off your lacy bralette. This top comes in lots of colors and has gotten great reviews.
DRESS FIT : Runs small, XS
Are you a fan of a little white dress?! I definitely am because they feel so crisp and fresh this time of year. This dress is sweet with ruffled sleeves and a tie waist. This brand, Bardot, works particularly well for petites, but some things would probably be too short for you taller ladies. If you’re looking for something sassy, definitely take a look!
DRESS FIT : Runs big, Petite P
I’m definitely on a maxi kick lately as you might know from the 6 Must Have Spring/Summer Dresses post. But how fun is this one?! It’s got vacation written all over it! The proportions are perfect with the spaghetti straps and slightly fitted bust and relaxed, full skirt. I like it so much I also got it in red too! It will be easy to dress this up with accessories to change up the look.
SWIMSUIT FIT : One Size
We’re heading to a family resort with lots of pool and outdoor time on the agenda, so I ordered two hats and a new one-piece swimsuit.
If you want a one-piece that’s on the sassier side, this one’s for you! It’s got higher cut legs and a v-neck, but it’s still one pieces, so fine for chasing kiddos. It’s a scrunchy, textured material that has a lot of stretch, which I guess is why it’s one size. I never understand how that works, but just like the magic seamless undies, one size does seem to fit most!
HAT FIT : TTS, XS
The only summer hat I really had before this was my visor, and if you remember from MAY LOVES I wanted something: 1) with more sun coverage, and 2) cuter to wear with outfits. This hat looks good with outfits and at the pool. Sometimes hats can look ridiculous on me, but I really like how stylish this one is and how well it fits.
I also got this floppy hat that I won’t worry about crushing or getting wet and packing for trips. It’s super cute too with the colorful pom pom brim.
RASHGUARD FIT : Runs small, Small
And because I’m getting more concerned about sun as I get older, I finally bought a rashguard. These run small, but feel really good and silky on. I’m sure I’ll appreciate it the afternoon of Day 2 in the sun!
NORDSTROM HALF YEARLY SALE
Moving on to the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! There’s a LOT of things on sale at huge discounts and it can be daunting to sort through it all. I hope I’ve done the heavy lifting for you by highlighting things I’ve bought and found worthwhile. I also pointed out what I thought were the best of the best in each category.
And FYI, unfortunately, with this kind of big sale, things sell out quickly and sizes may be limited.
MORE DRESS PICKS : Check out the Eliza J dresses, most come in regular/petite/plus, and they still have a good selection of both day and evening dresses.
Jeans : I’ve had good luck with Kut from the Kloth jeans being stylish and budget friendly. They have lots of cute jean styles on sale now.
As for designer denim, my favorite Paige Verdugo skinny jeans are 33% off, making them only $119. I loved the fit and feel of those jeans and have them in dark wash and white. They’re a little long on me, so I got mine altered.
Hope you score some great deals today! I’ll be shopping along with you!
