Happy weekend friends! We’re mid-September and Jordan turns 7 months old on Sunday! I can hardly believe it, and I’ll have a baby update for you on Monday! I know I’m biased, but she is just too dang cute!! This is where it really starts getting fun! At the end of the month, I go to NYC for a few days for the Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker event and it’ll be the first time I’ll be gone from Jordan for that long. I know she’ll be in good hands with Grandma, but I’m gonna miss her terribly! I’ll have to Facetime her to get my daily fix of her sweetness!
Speaking of NY, I know it’s still pretty warm there too, and I have two dresses I was thinking of bringing with me and wanted to see what you thought. The first one, a flowy bell sleeve dress could be fun for a night out and I was thinking the cotton embroidered dress might be good for the actual event, which is a day full of classes and mingling/networking at the hotel. For casual downtime, any of these budget-friendly early Fall outfits would work too.
These lace heels are the coolest, and come in three colors, but size UP because they run small. I had to exchange the pair I originally bought.
Okay, below is Dress #2. Is it too Springy already?! I hope not because I just love it! I was thinking that pretty rust color made it look like it could lean in the Fall direction. Last year, I was comfy all day in a sleeveless dress, so I was thinking I might wear one again. And I just realized, I was pregnant last time!
This dress is great quality and super easy to wear. Some reviewers said it was on the sheer side and the site says it’s not lined, but it is, so that’s weird. I didn’t find it too sheer at all and I’m not wearing a slip with it, just a nude bra and undies. It does run large, I’m in XS with plenty of roominess.
Some of you asked which strapless bra I recommend with your off-the-shoulder tops, and I like this one. It stays up the best of all the strapless bras I’ve tried and doesn’t pinch or pull. I’m going to do a round-up of lingerie and shapewear soon because those garments can really make or break an outfit! Not to mention, no one likes it when their panties are uncomfortable. Makes for a very long day!
Okay guys, what do you think of these dresses? Good for NY or keep looking?
Whoa! I still get taken aback when I see pics of myself with super blonde hair! The pics above were snapped before my latest touch-up, but it’s still so different to me than the pictures below. Anyway, a few more things from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale are back on sale and have been restocked.
I post everyday outfits on Instagram and Facebook and love connecting with you there! If you want to shop my outfits without LikeToKnowIt, just go to the SHOP tab at the top of my blog and click on the picture for direct links to what I’m wearing.
I’m also on Snapchat (@honeywerehome) but haven’t been able to snap much lately because the camera on my iPhone is messed up. I hope to get it fixed next week!
As much as I loved summer this year, I’ve finally embraced the idea that fall is here and changed out our summer mantle from sand and shells to a fall mantle…
Don’t ya just love to see spaces “before” and “after”? Sometimes progress is really slow-going and very small changes happen along the way, almost imperceptible until you add it all…
We’ve officially entered the second year and I have to say it just keeps getting better and better!! Being a first time mom, I had no idea that my heart…
Hi all! If you’ve been reading along for awhile, you know we don’t have a fireplace or a mantle in our house, but the console table in our entryway has…
Thanks so much for weighing in yesterday on the “to paint or not to paint” the office doors dilemma. I’m still unsure, but will wait until almost everything else is in…

Megan, I am DYING over your darker hair in the first few pics! Especially the closeup of you with your glasses off in the blue dress…STUNNING!! Love love the dress ideas and this entire post. Question… I have had the white shirt in your last pic in my shopping cart for a bit now and haven't pulled the trigger. I love it but it got mixed reviews. Are you loving it? Have you washed it yet? Thank you!
Very cute, but as someone living up north I'll tell you it's starting to cool down and people are bringing out their fall outfits. Thinking the white dress is probably fine for the south, but a bit too summery up here – especially if it's not for another week or two.
I agree with Laura – I live up north (Vermont) and its definitely fall right now. The second outfit looks too spring/summery and you will probably be chilly! Break out the fall clothes!
I'm actually happy to hear that! I could use a break from the heat here in Houston! And I'm dying to bust out some Fall clothes! Thanks for letting me know!
Both dresses are great but I agree that you'll want to wear boots with the second option. Go for a light suede knee or ankle pair. Is the necklace you're wearing with dress 1 the same one you tagged? Stunning!
The sleeveless dress is adorable on you. Really accentuates your figure. IMHO, I feel like you are swimming in the blue one. Doesn't show your tiny waist at all.

I was thinking the same thing, loving the hair I think it accentuates your eyes. You look gorgeous.
Thank you guys so much! And Corbie, I love that top! I've washed it on delicate and hung to dry and it's perfect!
I don't think the embroidered dress is too springy, it's super cute! Maybe swap the shoes for something closed toe to get more of a fall feel?
That's an idea. 😉

Don't care for the blue dress at all. The 2nd dress is darling.
Thanks for weighing in Vicki!
blue dress is amazing!!!
Thanks so much!

Hi Allison! The necklace I'm wearing with the blue dress is old from Stella & Dot and they don't sell it anymore so I tagged one similar.

I'm in NJ and it's definitely getting cooler so I think sleeveless may be a bit too cool. Love the darker hair!
