I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was looking for a bench to put at the end of the bed, and ended up finding one for under $300 at Overstock. It’s the Renate Coffee Table, which isn’t actually a bench, but a coffee table as the name states. That being said, it’s a little wider than I expected, but I still think it works. I did try it in the living room too, to see if it looked better there, but decided I liked it in the bedroom better.
I’m impressed with the quality, but am thinking of spray painting the black legs gold or silver.
The fabric is an oatmeal colored linen that has a nice texture and I love the tufting.
I still want to change out our bedside tables for (I think) mirrored pieces, but haven’t taken the plunge yet. (Update, finally got those mirrored nightstands!)
You might remember our bed is also from Overstock and the bedding is from Restoration Hardware (except for the Target throw). I made the grey/blue zebra pillow cover. I still need to add some pillows to achieve the fuller, more layered look.
I’d recommend this table for a coffee table too if you’re in the market for one. It’s cushy at the top, yet still has the open feel underneath.

Update: Feeling like the bench was too wide for the end of the bed after all, we moved it to the living room where it serves its proper place as a coffee table.
We’ve also added an affordable abstract art piece to that blank wall.

Love it when people think outside the box! Great solution and it's really pretty.
Looks really pretty Megan. I like the tufting and the fabric color and texture looks great.
What a great find! That fabric is perfect and that piece is so versatile. It can go anywhere!
Turned out really nice 🙂
It looks great and can't wait to see if you end up spray painting it. I'm totally loving mirrored bedside tables, too.
I think it's a great piece. I love the tufting.
It's beautiful — and looks great in there! Your room is really coming together! and yay for bedside snacks…you never know when you'll have a hankering for an apple 😉
I love the base… I think your idea to paint it gold or silver would be fabulous!
Love it! I think it looks perfect in your space, but I think spray painting the legs gold or silver would look great, too!
Honestly, I don't think it's a good fit there. Seems a bit awkward and too wide but not long enough.
Who says you can't use a coffee table at the end of your bed? I've always wanted to be one of those people who had time to formally sit down and put on their shoes in the mornings instead of jumping into the halfway out the door. Maybe something like this would make that more likely to happen?
Looks good! If you do want to change the finish on the legs, I recommend using Rub N Buff in antique gold. You can google it for more info :). It is a wonderful product. I bought mine on Amazon, but I think themselves sell it at Hobby Lobby as well.
that's a great find! i think spray painting it will elevate it more but even then, this actually works for me 🙂
Looks fabulous! Although I am partial to a bit of gold or silver spray paint. It is BEAUTIFUL either way though 🙂
It is nice but looks funny there, too wide. jessica
Love the room- especially the leopard print pillow!
It looks so good there! I love great Overstock finds.
It looks really nice Megan. Perfect for the foot of your bed! I love the tufting. Your bedroom is beautiful…so calm and peaceful.
Love that bench at the end of your bed! I am currently transforming two garage sale side tables into end of bed stools for my master.
