A few new things

Hi guys!  How was your weekend?  Is there ever enough weekend time?  I think not!  I had planned to go to High Fashion Home to look for fabric, but didn’t make it.  I managed to get a couple of hours to myself on a particularly beautiful Saturday afternoon while James was napping and do some shopping at Houston’s Highland Village.  It’s a stretch of road near the Galleria that houses some great restaurants and stores.  On  such a gorgeous day, it’s great to get to enjoy outdoor shopping, going from place to place.

Of course, I started at Starbuck’s with a little caffeine to fuel the trip:)  Here are some of the goodies I scored:
How cute are these mini potted boxwood plants from Crate & Barrel?  They are only $6.95 each.  I originally thought they’d go in the living room media center, but for now I like them in the kitchen.
And from Pottery Barn, I added two new small cable knit throw pillows (similar to these) and a cable knit throw blanket.  I’m ready for those cozy nights!
Also from PB, is this round mother of pearl frame.  My photo doesn’t do it justice, but I couldn’t find it on their website.
I also found something for James’ room that I’ll have to show you tomorrow!

  1. I'm loving the cable knit items! I'm so ready for it not to be so blazing hot so I can actually use a blanket. I also bought some new stuff this weekend that I'll be talking about this week and I have a giveaway going on too! I'm feeling like I might actually be getting the hang of this blogging thing! Kind of Sort of! haha

  2. Happy to see you are a fan of faux greenery. I think faux greenery (& aux flowers) get a bad rap sometimes. One thing I have that's nice is "preserved" boxwood… It's real and is very attractive. When I get the gumption, I should do a post on the preserved mini boxwood wreaths I have. I do have a photo on my sidebar of a couple of mini topiaries I have on my kitchen windowsill. If you ever see the preserved boxwood, trust me, get it. You will love it.

  3. HV is so close to mi casa, I love it and those mini faux boxwood are presh! I actually have some faux green poms from CB and they are still going strong after all these years! Your house is beautiful!

  4. Oh it is so fun to have an afternoon to just stroll and browse and shop a little. Great treasures. I love the throw and pillows. The little boxwoods look great too. Hugs, Marty

  5. What great finds! You couch looks so comfy and stylish with that throw and those pillows! And the PB frame is pretty too! And we couldn't have asked for nicer weather this weekend!

  6. So glad you enjoyed the weekend. Looked like a fun and successful shopping trip. I love your new finds. So fun to be thinking cozy pillows and blankets.

  7. I had so much fun shopping "over there" that one day!
(-: It felt like a different world from down here. I'll have to get back to do some Christmas shopping soon. And the weather was perfect this weekend. Glad you got to get out and enjoy it.

  8. Those types of afternoons are the best – and Highland Village rocks! I love those little boxwoods from C&B and your couch is looking really cozy with those new pillows – I have the same blue ones from PB – ha ha. Hope you are having a good week!
