Day of Love {Our Wedding}

A couple weeks ago, we went to a wedding that was held in the same venue where we got married almost three years ago.  The Parador, located in Houston’s museum district, is a former church and Texas landmark.  Built in 1928, it is said to marry Mediterranean style with Byzantine detail.  The place is so, so pretty inside.  The main area has a grand dome with great wooden detail.  It’s rustic and elegant at the same time- a characteristic I happen to love. When I got home from the wedding we just attended, I browsed through some of our wedding photos and put together a little collage for you.  image The photos were taken by K&C Photography, now defunct. Our wedding was a black, white, and silver affair.  By now you know I like things classic and simple.  My bridesmaids agreed on a fitted mermaid style, strapless black dress with a silver sash that tied in the back.  My dress was similar in style but all blinged out with beaded detail.  All of us carried a bouquet of mixed white flowers and white flowers also adorned the tables and alter where we exchanged vows.  One of my best friends graciously gifted the flowers to us as our wedding present!  The adorable kiddos pictured above were our ring bearer and flower girl.  We had a funny moment when my husband-to-be couldn’t get the ring on my finger. image But at the end of the day, we were declared “Mr. & Mrs.” 0221 This December will mark our 3 year wedding anniversary and we’re hoping to plan a short getaway, like 3 or 4 days.  Hmmmm . . . where to go??  We’ve tossed around New York (but we’ve been there twice together already, never in December though), or New Orleans (just a short flight from Houston).  Any ideas??  Where do you think is good to go in early December?

    What a beautiful wedding you two had! Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. 🙂 Mr. M and I recently celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary and spent it in Atlanta … Not a traditional vacation destination, to be sure, but neither of us had ever been and we had a great time! Just go wherever your first thought takes you …

    You are a stunning bride! Love the setting!! We got married at a historic train station (converted into a hotel) in Nashville, and it made the best back drop for pictures!

    As for a good 4-day spot, I recommend San Juan, PR. Easy flight from Houston, no customs, beautiful, warm weather in December. We stayed in old san juan at the El Convento and wandered the streets eating and exploring for a few days. It's a New Orleans meets Mexico kind of vibe. (we went last fall for a wedding, then flew to st. john…another great spot, but not for a quick weekend.)

    ok, longest. comment. ever.

    Congratulations- we just celebrated 10 years and I can assure you it only gets better!

    Monterey, CA- we just moved from there in January and enjoyed our 15months a lot! Point Lobos is great for hiking, Cannery Row, Carmel… San Francisco would be fun, too.
