While the house is being built, I’ve been busy planning how we’re going to decorate it. I’ve made many a purchase in my head:) First things first, we’re going to need a new couch. The couches we currently have are old, dirty, smelly, and have been generally demolished by our dogs.
I spent a long time researching couches at various retail stores and online. We determined that we wanted a sectional so that we could lounge comfortably (we spend a lot of time on the couch) and accomodate several people. The requirements were: comfy, simple style, durable and easy-to-clean fabric, in a neutral color. I like to keep the basics neutral and use color in the accessories so they are easily exchanged when you get bored or want to switch things up.
After much searching, we finally settled on this:
The Piece 4 Piece Sectional Wedge by Pottery Barn in Light Wheat.
I like that it has a chaise at the end- I’m claiming that as my end of the couch:) The only problem is, I’m not 100% sure that it is going to fit. I’ve measured the room and the couch dimensions and I think it will work, but I won’t know for sure until we see it in the room. I hope it works!
I recently mentioned that my son’s room still looks more like a nursery than a toddler room, even though he just turned three. Â Over the weekend, we took the first…
How’s your week going friends?  I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas!  It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders.  ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch!  We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info!  😉  Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Â Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Â Such a steal at right under $50! Â For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Â Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. Â It’s on sale under $40! Â I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! Â They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Â Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. Â They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. Â The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! Â I think I need to stock up on the other colors. Â It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. Â It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Â Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!
A caprese salad (tomato, mozzarella, and basil) is probably one of my three favorite appetizers to order when eating out. It’s light, delicious, and pretty with the vibrant red, green…
For many, many months before designing our own kitchen, I scoured design magazine, books and blogs looking for inspiration. I knew I wanted a light, bright kitchen with a window and an…

Your couch is gorgeous! Can't wait to see it in the new room. You don't have a lot of rearranging options with sectionals…But hey, if it doesn't fit you can always put it up in the play room. Oh, I mean the man cave. 😉
Hey, it may even fit in your GINORMOUS closet!! So jealous. 🙂
I'm anxious to see if it works. I'm really serious about having you over to pick your brain! I'm going to be leaving my job soon, so I'll have a lot more time. And thanks for adding me to your blog roll! ps. do you know how I can respond to your comments so you are notified? I'm a real newbie at this:)
You get to be a stay at home mommy?? ….No, I don't know how it works on Blogger. I am on WordPress. I wish blogger did that though but I noticed if anyone else I comment on uses blogger, I don't get notified either.
We'd love to come over! But it doesn't seem like you need my help much!!
Megan, You might want to take some masking tape and measure it out on the floor itself to see how it feels when you stand in the room. That may give you a good idea of the space.
I remember looking for our new couch 3 years ago when we moved into this house… we went to every store in the valley… we finally found one that fit our style/price at La-z-Boy. Large sectionals, though they don't give you a lot of re-arranging options, give you lots of snuggle-up and cozy-up options! Found you via NFF! : )
Hi, I really love your couch and want one just like it but do u think the color is too bright for two 20 lbs dogs? I'm afraid but just love it. We are looking into leather sectional but I feel like leather is not very "homey" whats your take on it? Thanks

Thanks Joey! I have tried that and I "think" it works. Crossing my fingers. Can't wait for you to come back for another visit!

Megan,
I'm looking for a new sofa and I've always loved the PB sofas. How is the Pottery Barn sofa holding up now?
Thanks!
