Easter Recap

Good morning Sunshine!  Did y’all have a good Easter weekend?  We did!  We are actually still enjoying the Easter break with one more day off school, so I’ll be brief.  I just wanted to share a few scenes from our Easter weekend with you, especially since we got to enjoy it with two kiddos running around this year!  Looking back, last year, Jordan was just a wee babe and now she’s all over the place, full of curiosity and delight!
We took advantage of the warm weather on Saturday and headed to the pool for the first time this year.  I think we have a water baby because she just loves splashing around in the water and we had to drag her away when it was time to go!

Don’t you just die over the baby Trucker hat?!  We picked it up at Target and she actually kept it on most of the time! Her swimsuit was a gift from Aunt Allison, and the brand is Three Sisters, but I didn’t see it online to link for you.
We had so much fun at the pool and I’m sure we’ll be going lots in the summer.  Makes me think I should get Jordan started in swim lessons soon!
I like having a nice cover up to wear at the pool and beach, and this one is perfect because it’s lightweight with short sleeves.  My other cover-up is long sleeves, so it’s better for when you’re chilly.  You can see my swimsuit try-on and fit review here if you missed it and are looking for a swimsuit for summer.
Our pool makes really yummy adult beverages too!  I love their pina colada, Grandma got the margarita!
Back home and all showered, we headed to Marble Slab for ice cream.  That’s such a fun treat and we don’t go all that often, so it makes it even more special.
James got vanilla ice cream with gummy bears, m&ms and sprinkles!  Isn’t that such a kid ice cream cone combo?! I opted for vanilla with strawberries.  Jordan loves to eat everything, but she isn’t into ice cream- I think it’s too cold for her.
Of course we dyed our faux eggs (best invention ever!) on Friday.  I almost had a Mom Fail when we went to the store to buy eggs, I suggested to James that he pick out an Easter basket.  He looked at me quizzically and reminded me, “The Easter Bunny brings the basket.”  Yes, right!
We woke up to Easter baskets filled mostly with toys and a little bit of candy on Easter morning.
Doesn’t it feel like a small miracle when you get yourself and the kids all ready and out the door on time for church?  I have to admit they looked pretty cute all dressed up in their Sunday best!  I could literally eat both of them right up!
James is seriously the best big brother.  He’s always helping his little sister and just loves her so much. He’s incredibly kind and gentle with her and my heart swells when I watch them together.  She loves him too and is trying hard to say, “James!”
After 15 snaps, we got a pretty good pic of the three of us. I had to call James to make him get in with us!
He’s thrilled.  But still so cute!
Of course, as soon as we got home from church, James was ready to change clothes.  We went to my Mom’s house for an afternoon Easter dinner and had another egg hunt there with the cousins.  Those confetti eggs are fun!
I hope y’all had a wonderful Easter and have a great start to your week!  I’ll see you tomorrow with a new “Wear to Work” fashion post!

  1. I've been reading your blog for years but my husband and I recently moved to Houston so I of course love your posts even more now. Question- Is your pool public or part of your neighborhood? We've been trying to find a good one, and of course I love that yours serves drinks 🙂
