Was the first day of Fall as gorgeous in your city as it was here?! We got to experience a significant drop in temperatures and a morning without humidity- pretty near perfect! In honor of the official start of Fall, I put together a “rustic glam” mantle. Of course, we don’t really have a true mantle, so our console table subbed in.
I got some glam inspiration from this little fox I found at Target. Have you seen him yet? I passed him up a couple of times, but recently couldn’t resist. Foxes are the new owl. 🙂 He was originally a nice, light natural wood tone, but I sprayed him gold. He’s wearing a handwritten welcome tag and sitting next to my very favorite Pottery Barn lamp.
I wanted the main scheme of the table to focus on the (mostly) real pumpkins and a few pops of bling. Oranges, cream, and forrest green are so pretty together with metallic silver and gold. I felt the display was rustic with the wooden dough bowl, woven basket below, veggies, and burlap lining the bowl. I almost embellished the pumpkins, but went with my friends on Instagram (@honeywerehome) who recommended keeping them natural. Thanks for weighing in! 🙂
I found the eucalyptus at Hobby Lobby for just a couple of dollars and placed them inside hammered vases from Target. They were both originally silver and I sprayed one gold. I love the height, shape, and natural color of the eucalyptus.
I found the dough bowl at a Christmas fair and use it all year long. Most of the time it’s in the kitchen holding onions, potatoes, garlic, avocados- items I cook with often. Here, I lined it with cream-colored burlap and fit 11 small pumpkins and a few mandarin oranges (to fill in the gaps) inside.
This table is fitted with a shelf below so I like to take advantage of the extra decorating space.
The mercury glass candleholders were from Target (I think) as were the candles. I wrapped ribbon and washi tape around the candles and added a decorative leaf to two.
To pretty up the pillows, I added decorative ribbon. The burlap and satin ribbon is my favorite. The ombre green throw is from West Elm.
I made the wreath very easily with faux hydrangeas and a straw ring form. Go here for the full tutorial.
Hello friend, welcome to a fresh new week. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are getting some time off today to enjoy the freedoms our brave military men…
You might remember me talking about wanting to paint our media cabinets dark grey last week. They are currently Sherwin Williams Divine White (flat) and Jamestown Blue (Sherwin Williams??) on…
How’s your week going friends?  I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas!  It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders.  ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch!  We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info!  😉  Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Â Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Â Such a steal at right under $50! Â For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Â Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. Â It’s on sale under $40! Â I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! Â They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Â Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. Â They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. Â The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! Â I think I need to stock up on the other colors. Â It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. Â It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Â Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!

OK, I really need to get moving here! There's not a single 'fall' item in my house yet (unless you count the Halloween decorations sitting in a box in the basement) and it's practically October! You've just inspired me. Thx! 🙂
That table is PERFECT. I love the 'rustic glam' of it all. I just posted about a 'rustic' fall tablescape and it reminds me of the pumpkins you used! You put it all together perfectly! Loving it all 🙂
Thanks Melissa! I use a tripod so I can lower the shutter setting. Most of these photos were taken with my Nikon D90, Aperature f4, shutter speed 1/4, and ISO 640. I usually close the blinds so that the light is even in the room. Hope this helps! 🙂
After seeing your great post on Pinterest( Beautiful fall decorating!) I am thinking about purchasing that great console table from World Market for our beach home— do you love it? Any cons? Thanks, Jan
